Nando’s and Charcoal

Last week I decided to try Nando’s. It’s a chain BBQ chicken restaurant that a lot of people, US military people that is, seem to really like. It was good. BUT, it wasn’t something magnificent. I mean basically, if you all know how to light a BBQ, throw a few lightly marinated chicken pieces on top of it, attempt to not burn them and later lather the well BBQ’d chicken with the Nando’s Peri-Peri sauce, you’ll get more less the same thing. So taste wise, it was an 8. If I were stuck at a train station and the options

Cards Magazine Blog Challenge

Hello folks! Hope your day is better than mine. I’ve had a stiff neck and upper right shoulder since Monday and I am not a very happy camper (it’s just a bit of an inconvenience since I have a lot to do which requires my right arm). BUT, as long as I don’t do sudden moves or reach up high or down low, I can still create {::SMILES}. This month WPlus9 is sponsoring Card’s Magazine blog challenge and based on the lovely sketch by Dawn, I came up with the above card. Do join us because there is a set

Sneak Peek Day 3

Today we’re celebrating M’s birthday. Her actual birthday is not until the 5th but since it’s a school and gym night, we’re going to do special things with her today. Can you believe she’ll be nine-years-old in two days?!?! I think only Amy Tsuruta may remember this, but look at her six years ago: She was already a little world traveler and super adorable! How time flies (and wow, my scrapbook style hasn’t changed much)!! Today I want to share a *NEW* card created using some *NEW* stamps and dies from WPlus9. LOVE the little banner!! M’s having a little

Sneak Peek Day 2

It’s day two and a bit sun shiny here in England. See, I am starting to be a bit more British by talking about the weather {::SMILE}. Before moving to England, I thought that maybe Agatha Christie was just trying to add more content by adding two pages of weather talk, but, people do mention the weather more often here than my friends in the US (although we did moan a lot about how cold/hot the temperature was when we were still in Missouri). SO, inspired by the weather, I thought I’d brighten up a kraft card stock just a

Sneak Peak Day 1

HELLO! Wow, can’t believe it’s February! Been such a busy, in mostly a productive way, January and I am looking forward to slowing it down a bit this month!! I’ll share more about my happenings later. Right now, I just want to highlight a couple of stamp sets and dies that WPlus9 is debuting this month: Chantilly Trim and Very Vintage Florals. Pretty, huh? Let me share you one little secret: The card above is for M! She’ll be 9 in a few days and she cannot wait (as for myself, I can wait a few more years until she’s

A Knitting Project

After “faffing” around (as my “lovely” friend called it) for two hours on day one, I finally got into my knitting and after the third (nonconsecutive) days (working 30 minutes a day — not to include faffing around day), I managed this much. If I keep going this rate, in two weeks I should have a fear of commitment cowl. My other knitting geek friend suggested this as my first project (due to the easiness although most likely due to my inability to finish a knitting project) and so far, it’s keeping me interested (which is a good thing since
