We went to the market again in Bury St. Edmunds yesterday and got rained on. Despite the rain we had a fantastic time! We did more exploring of the downtown area, kind of like what we did in Cambridge, and checked out what shops are available and where. We found a nice toy store, a NICE kitchen store (I can see a lot of cash going into this store if I had a UK job — right now it’s cheaper for use to buy online from a US store), a sewing shop, restaurants and more. We had tea at Harriet’s and so far my least favorite place. We were going somewhere else but the rain dropped hard when we were in front of this restaurant and so in we went. After we got home I did some Googling and yes, it wasn’t just my taste buds. There were a couple nice things about the place, live piano, waitresses in frilly b/w little uniforms, and a nice atmosphere. But, when you’re with kids you tend to want good food rather than atmosphere. Also for the price, not worth it.
Here’s a photo of St. John’s Street. So festive, huh? Somewhere on the left is the the awesome kitchen and sewing shop.
