I haven’t bought a lot from the new catalog, I am waiting for next month, Sale-a-Bration — where I can spend $50 and pick something free from the SAB catalog, but from what I have purchased I am having quite a great time with them. Here’s my second Spring Solitude set and despite the lack of designer paper I love the colors. I used chocolate chip, purely pomegranate, and wild wasabi. Speaking of colors, the last two are the 2007-2008 in colors. When I first saw them, I thought they were horrible and the previous ones were so much better. Hah! I was wrong. I still like my old colors (and all my stamp pads really) but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this year’s colors. I guess it’s one of those things where you don’t know what you’re missing until you try it.
Tuesday I went to the city to get an oil change. Not that we can’t do it ourselves here but we have free service for a year so it’d be a waste if we don’t take advantage of it, right? After (the long) oil change, I stopped at HB and Jo’s to pick up a few things, plus I had some coupons! HB has a paper sale this week so of course, the paper freak that I am, I had to spend $2 worth of paper. I picked up a few other items, some for M’s birthday party (oh, 2 little girls RSVP!) and a couple Copics. Hmmm… I’m not seeing the fabulousness of these things that people are raving about. Maybe I’m just not very marker-ish or just friggin clueless. Dunno but they just feel like (really expensive) markers. I guess because it’s not as exciting as I thought they’d be I haven’t really produce anything meaningful.
So, here’s’ my card. Really simple. the blue cardstock is called Temping Turquoise. I paper pierced it and on the white center I just stamped, double embossed the bird, and used my punch to cut two holes for the Offray ribbon. The rest are self explanatory. I like how it turned out. I was wanting something simple that pops and I think the colors did just that.
