What? More links?

Well, I can’t put everything on my blog page. It’d just be too cluttery and TMI — too much information. So, I decided to create this page and “list a few (more) of my favorite things” (what song did that come from? :D) with more detail info.

Where do I buy stamps?

First of all, since I started this blog there have been many many many stamp companies. Some ok and some wonderful. I haven’t bought every single company’s stamp (I’d go broke!) but below is a list of my favorite places…

  • The local scrapbook or craft store
  • Stampin’ Up!: It’s not because I sell SU stuff but they do have some really cute stamps, tools, and embellishments. Order from me, tell me that you found me through my blog and get 10% off!
  • Papertrey Ink: They have some cute stamps and the prices seem really good for what you get. The acrylic they use for the stamps are top quality. You get a nice stamped image. You can also get all sorts of other goodies here and shipping is free with a $55 minimum. Oh, they probably have THE best card stock. Really thick! Thicker than SU’s!!
  • Hero Arts: Cute cute cute, wood and acrylic.
  • Sassafrass Lass: Oh, they’re so cute! Robots, owls, and more.
  • Unity Stamp Co: Talented artists. A lot to choose from and because they’re rubber, the stamped images are solid!

Basic Digi FAQ

FAQ

Where do I print my digital scrapbooks?

WHCC: This place is inexpensive, I think. Each 12×12 page is around $3.75 with free shipping AND a $12. That’s only 4 pages and I know you all make more than that! Shipping is super fast too and you don’t have to be a professional photographer/designer to open an account. It seems that way when you go through the form though.

Where do I go for inspirations?
There are many sites out there with galleries and layouts that you can spend hours looking and “favoriting”. Some are online digi stores, some are forums, and some are designer’s blogs and galleries. So many to list but between the links here and below (where to buy stuff) you should be able to find a ton of information to inspire and help you with your projects.

  • SIStv: This is my current favorite place to go for inspiration. The girls here are sooooo good it’s overwhelming. You can find anything here and all the designers (or so I think) upload their stuff here. There’s a cool store too where you can find unique items.
  • Split Coast Stampers: If you have stamps, especially Stampin’ Up! stamps, this is the place to go. Find out what your stamp set name is and go to the gallery for that particular set to find hundreds of ideas for your card or scrapbook page.
  • Two Peas in a Bucket: I got to say, this place has EVERYTHING. A store, paper and hybrid/digital gallery and forum, tutorials, free downloads, and more. I think this is one of my favorites. Many of the members are awesome designers and this site can keep you busy.
  • Creating Keepsake: Yup, the well known magazine’s site. I love the gallery here. So many layouts, gorgeous, gorgeous on many of them.

Where do you get freebies?

  • A lot of times the sites above have freebies here and there.
  • Check out designers’ blogs, they offer freebies here and there and don’t forget the blog candies
  • Shabby Princess is my favorite place
  • Free fonts at Scrapvillage or DaFont

Where do I buy digital kits, elements, etc.?
I have a few favorite artists and stores. I haven’t bought a lot because I can design many elements using Photoshop but I am by all means an artist like many of these designers so I can’t make fancy swirls, images, and pretty much anything that requires free hand drawing. Plus I’ve been finding it fun to buy and try digikits. So a few of my favorites are:

  • Weeds and Wildflowers: They have some fantastic hand drawn items besides realistic elements. You should check these girls out and the gallery is quite inspiring!
  • TheDigiChick: It’s not because I’m a DT there but because they do have neat kit
  • Shabby Pickle: New store but super cool designer
  • Sweet Shoppe Designs: Tons of talented designers sell their beautiful kits in this store
  • My favorite designers: Kelley Mickus, Angela Woo, Jovia, Annie Manning, Kasia, Corina Nielsen and more…

What cool tools are out there?

There are so many neat stuff out there and you can literally go broke!! With digital scrapbooking you have the initial investment of buying a nice computer and all the peripherals plus software. With stamping and traditional scrapbooking, well, they’re not as expensive to start out with but boy, do they add up. But it’s so much fun collecting and playing with them all! For best prices, get them online and Googling helps a lot. So here they are:

  • Scor-Pal: Tired of scoring manually or with your paper cutter? Then find out it’s just not perfect? Here’s your solution!
  • Scor-It: It cost more than the Pal but people say it does the job better. Well, now I have one and I can say that for people like me who doesn’t do a lot of boxes and the such, the It scores way better than the Pal. So if one day I have to do 20 boxes then I’d get the Pal but for now, I’m quite happy with my It.
  • Die cutting machine: Cuttlebug, Wizard, Big Kick. Which one? You got to try it to decide. I have the Bug but I wish I have the Wizard. I think it’ll do the embossing of the Nestabilities much better.
  • Nestabilities: These dies are so cool cut and emboss different shapes. Great for cards or a photo. These things work with most die cut machines even though it’s made by the same company as the wizard
  • ATG 3M tape dispenser gun: Yes it’s almost $40 but it’ll save you tons in the long run!
  • Bind-it-All: Such a cool tool!
  • Klik-n-Kut: The mack daddy of the electric die cut machine family. I personally think it does better than the Pazzle. It cuts up to 500 gr which basically means: chipboard! Oh, it does some sort of wood too but I prob. won’t be using it for that.
  • Silhouette SD: I don’t have one but want one! I’d be then able to print on my regular printer and the Silhouette will be able to cut it out perfectly for me. Sweet hybrid tool!!!!
