Sweet Saturday

I’m not sure if I’ll get sick of it after awhile but right now I am loving the UK rain. It’s not violent like in Missouri — I don’t have to ask hubby every other minute if it’s tornadic outside — but just the usual soft sound of rain. It’s lovely and it actually reminds me of the time in Indonesia. I’m not a fan of heat and the rain always bring coolness. Also it’s so dusty where I was from and the rain calms those dust down a bit. On weekends I’d just sit around and read and that activity was my favorite thing to do back in those days.
Today it was lounge around day for us. We had friend over last night for dinner, our first time since we’ve been here, we went straight to bed after they left and today, after cleaning up we just watched movies and while I worked on some projects.
Here’s one I did today. Hubby got a new color printer so I was able to print out some digital paper from Sweet Shoppe. This particular one was printed of a Zoe Pearns kit: Alphabet Soup for Boys. I know it says for boys but I think this thing is perfect for anybody. Love the cute cute images!! I printed in draft mode for the pattern paper while the swirl was in normal mode and gave the pattern paper a more soft feeling while saving some ink.
I hope you’re enjoying your weekend!! We know we are!

Hi again! Today I have some news for you! Remember a few months ago I won some Clear and Simple Stamps from one of Embellish Magazine’s challenge? Well, I did get a box of goodies from CSS (wonderful!!) and also a sweet note congratulating me AND inviting me back to the team! After a few emails, getting all the details squared away, I said yes! Back in the days when CSS just opened I was one of their DT. I signed a three months contract and had a great time. Now, here I am again {::SMILE}. Thanks CSS for the opportunity!!
I can’t wait to show you what’s in store for April but for now, here’s a little card using Cute as a Bug with paper and ribbon also from CSS. The pattern paper are digital paper by Zoe Pearns: Note to Self and ScrapKitchen: Autobiography.
Before I go I want to share a photo of my kidlets (see the two teeth?). Jovie will be 10-months in a week. She is VERY cute — no kidding — and besides saying: mama, dada, oh oh, and clap on demand she can now kiss say and say + wave bye-bye. It’s so interesting. Emma was more into signing and didn’t babble at all. But one day at 14-months she decided to start talking. I swear she woke up talking clearly! Jovie, she did sign but now she’s not into it much. She likes to vocalize and use her gestures more. It was odd that she could say mama so early but she did. Her daycare lady asked me once: Do you know she can say mama? I said yes I did. I told her it’s so weird! She thought so too but oh well. Every kid’s different, right? These two have been so wonderful the last few months. Us parents have been under a lot of pressure – moving stuff – but so far, besides a few M meltdown, they’ve been great. Even now, with very little furniture and toys these two have been in wonderful spirit. I think M kind of think it’s a camping ordeal, ha! I told her that it’ll just be a few more weeks (3.5 more!) and we’ll be of to the UK. In the mean time, I still have a lot of crap to finish up here — not fun!!
Okie dokie, off to work, have a good one!!

While Clouds was here I told her that I wish I can make cards like Melissa Phillips. She just has a way with layering paper and embellishments on a small area. I also have been liking how she does her double ribbons although I haven’t been able to do it as nice as hers. Coincidently I have some ribbons close to ones she used — but not as pretty. Oh well…
For this card I used some digital paper by ScrapKitchen at Sweet Shoppe: Autobiography. I think it’s got more of a masculine to it but I like how the card turned out — color wise — for a mom card. The sheet music came from and old music book. The folds are original.
Okie dokie… M has a bday party to go to… bye!!
Dear Diary…

I FINALLY use my Bind-it-All. I got it over a year ago. M’s been wanting a diary — those fancy big girl ones — but they’re just too expensive for somebody who can’t write well yet. As you can see this book’s pretty simple. I used Kristin Cronin-Barrow, All About Him, paper for the base, Cosmo Cricket alpha (the apostrophe is American Craft), the birdie is Dear Lizzie, the flower is Prima and the crochet flower is one I made. This book is 3.5″ x 5″ and the BIA wires are the 3/4″ ones. I glued two pattern paper onto the front and back of a cereal box. It gives the front and back cover some weight. For the inserts you can use notecard paper or just regular printer paper like I did for mine. M likes to draw and write and she always takes a piece of my printer paper anyways so it wasn’t a hard decision. I think it took me 15-20 minutes to make this.
We’re hungry so I’ll make this sweet and short.
Oh, M want to write a message:
My Mom made this diree for Me

I went to WalMart today and goodness, everybody who saw Jovie had to stop, smile, and tell us how adorable she was. The little shrimp knew that she was the center of attention too because she gave everybody a little smile. It was so cute and of course I was oh so proud of her. M was with me and I told her that she’s cute too and that when she was a baby people did the same thing when we were out and about — except M got money. Yes, people would give me a buck or two cause she was so adorable. They said it’s for her college fund or treat or something. So far nobody’s given Jovie any cash yet he he he…
The other day I submitted Jovie’s picture to Parent’s magazine. There are already TONS of submissions so the chance of Jovie getting picked is slim to none but hey, why not right? You never know if you don’t try… kind of like getting published in a card/scrapbook magazine. I just want a free trip to NY ha ha ha… look at me, exploiting my kid at an early age, ha ha!
I made another card for Moxie Fab, a thank you card this time. Another simple one, just paper on top of each other.
I used more things than usual on one card. Let me see…. Digital paper by Kristin Cronin-Barrow, All About Him, from Sweet Shoppe Designs, PTI stamps, Hero Arts stamp, Melody Ross borders ribbon, button, Pink Paislee pixies, and pearls.
I hope the photo looks ok. I don’t have my computer yet. iMac at the Mac store and my work laptop is with the IS folks. So far I am surviving but it’s tough to be on a 5-yr-old laptop when you use apps that uses up a lot of power. Oh well, a few more days, a few more days!
Have a great one folks, till later!
