Is Moving Ever Fun?

Posted on | January 5, 2010 | 9 Comments

Moving things around sucks, going through junk sucks, deciding what to keep and not to keep sucks, comforting M sucks (three melt downs so far), imagining a few months with VERY minimal furniture sucks, the thought of leaving my job sucks (I love my job and plus, not working equals to house wife duties aka cleaning). Hmmm… what else? You done listening to me whine? Sucks, sucks, sucks. But, all the negativities does go away when I think about the journey ahead… all the adventure that we’ll be having whether they’re good or bad as a family. That’s why my 2010 one little word is: journey.

Main Entry: 1jour·ney
Pronunciation: \?j?r-n?\

1 : an act or instance of traveling from one place to another
2 chiefly dialect : a day’s travel
3 : something suggesting travel or passage from one place to another

All of us are very excited about this year and we’re one of those people who doesn’t mind changes — as long as they’re good (or at least they sounded good at that time). I’m hoping to be able to document most if not all of our adventures via my good old blog — or blogs — and scrapbook pages. I mean it’s not everyday we get to pack all our belongings and move to a different country. Now, don’t worry, I won’t be bombarding you folks with pics. I got Flickr/other photo galleries for that {::SMILE}.

Here’s my first page of 2010:

Angel Face

My baby girl.

I used bits and pieces for this page. A little bit of Making Memories paper that came from Studio Calico in 2008, some American Craft, Creative Imaginations and Amy Butler. Nothing fancy — something that’s M-ish.

K, that’s it. Have a great night!!

We’re Officially Sick

Posted on | December 8, 2009 | 7 Comments

Except M. Before I was just coughing a bit and tired from Miss Jove’s night waking habit but today: the full blown winter cold. Poor Jovie. She threw up everywhere last night. Remember when she was weeks old and she threw up right on my face? Same thing. She coughed (a lot) and it made EVERYTHING come out. This was 2 a.m. Luckily after I changed her she went back to bed. Hubby was so sweet. Even though he wasn’t feeling good himself he went without me knowing/asking to get me my favorite soup.

Today I did go to work but I only lasted half a day. I’m not feeling any better. Maybe I should stay in and have the hubby drop the M and Jove so that I can just sleep the day away. We’ll see how I feel in the morning.

On the crafty side I got this done after our nap. I did the page ages ago but I finally found a title for it. For the page I used some Studio Calico stuff from 2008: Tinkering Ink, Prima, Making Memories, and American Craft. I’m trying to use up my old stuff while hoarding a lot of new things… like half of my 2009 Scarlet Lime kits and random things I’ve purchased the last few months (I seriously need to go to papercraft shopper anonymous!!).

Emma's Page

Alrighty, I’m goin to see if I can get Jovie to bed in a bit. I need to do my Christmas cards but very not motivated right now. Me want sleep!

Laters!

Lonely Owl

What?!?!? No, I didn’t find a new guy (although I did tell hubby if Brad Pitt ever ask me out I’d have to say yes… hubby said fine as long as Angie goes out with him, ha! In a million years, right?). But yesterday hubby and his friend went to Applebees. The line was long cause vets get to eat free. I think hubby said it was about a 40 min. wait. So him and his friend went to Lowes – we needed a few things. They thought that if they come back at 1p, the lunch line will be done with. Wrong. The line was still there when they got back at 1p. Anyhow, just as hubby was walking up to put his name on the list he saw the hostess walking up and down looking for Carr, party of two. Just as she was about to give up hubby raised his finger, she noticed, and she said: Carr party of two? And hubby confidently said: Yup, Carr party of two, him (pointing to his friend) and me. So, a minute after they walked in they got sitted.

That’s my husband for you.

So check out my card… Look at that yellow! It’s my favorite color that yellow!!! That’s probably why I’ve been wanting a yellow coat, purse, shoes, etc. Yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow. I them kind of mustard too. Puuurdy he he he… This little card contributed to my messy room the other day. I was going to submit this to Card’s magazine woodgrain call but I don’t think it’s quit magazine quality. Granted I never know what exactly they want.

The woodgrain I got from Studio Calico last year. The owl is Sassafrass, the sentiment is PTI and the leave I traced from an SU cardstock and shorten the stem a bit. To adher everything I used my yards of dimensionals. Speaking of… I need those non-stick scissors! My dimensionals are really sticky and after I cut dimensionals I have to clean my scissors really well before I cut a ribbon. If not they wont’ cut well. Just one more thing to buy, huh?

I did clean up my room a tad bit. Not much though, but enough to be able to walk in there without tripping. I need to vacuum. Oh, speaking of, hubby’s so sweet. He said the next house we own he’s going to make sure it has central vac. That way I can just suck away my mess easier. I think though it’s mostly for him. Hubby’s a bit OCD. Our downstairs is pretty tidy on most days. We can have unexpected guest anytime really. But my room he doesn’t even enter unless he has too. He’s afraid he he he…

Ok, I’m just rambling… laters!

It’s Easter Here

First of all M and I haven’t finished going through the challenge submissions. Something always comes up but we will! Hopefully tonight!! The same with the messiest room. I got to take a picture of my currently messy area.

My post for today is another scrap page. Did this while Jovie was working on some tummy and roll over time. She likes her tummy time better and she actually rolled over from back to tummy — then she’s stuck. We’ll keep working on it! For this page I used some Studio Calico stuff from 2008. It’s basically Sassafrass goodies that I trimmed out.

Easter 2009

Then a picture of the girls…

M and Jovie

I think Jovie’s thinking: Uhm, mom? Sister MIGHT mush me. Please come get me. Pleeeeease.

Plant

Here’s a plant that hubby gave me a few days after Jovie was born. I just took this picture today and the plant is currently crispy. It’s been crispy for a week. It’s still in the house because I think it still looks nice (and I don’t have to water it) he he he… here’s the conversation that hubby and I had about a week ago.

Hubby: I can’t believe you killed the plant that I just got you. Have you not been watering it?
Me: Yeah I’ve been watering it. I watered it the other day.
Hubby: Did you water it yesterday?
Me: No.
Hubby: Why?
Me: You said it’s a hardy plant. So I only water it every so often.
Hubby: (paused and looking perplexed) Hmmm, I guess it’s not hardy enough.
Me: (just thinking in my head: maybe next time you should try a cactus)

A few days later I was driving somewhere and I stopped the car next to our veggie garden to check it out. It’s been raining almost everyday here so the garden’s been great.

M: Mommy, what are you doing?
Me: Oh, just stopping to see how my garden’s doing.
M: Don’t stare too long.
Me: Why, baby?
M: If you stare too long you might kill them.
Me: (speechless and I drove off)

So yes, the above plant isn’t the first plant I killed. I’ve killed all the potted plants that have been entrusted/given to me. My friend asked if we could watch her cat and plant. I told her the cat’s fine but the plant no, unless this is what she wanted to see when she came back from her trip {::SMILES}.

Grandparents

Ok, so enough of me killing stuff… Here’s something I can’t kill… a Prima flower, ha! A super simple page (it’s my theme lately) of Jovie and her grandparents. There’s really not a lot to it. A few elements, a gorgeous College Press paper, big alphas and pictures and I got myself a page that I love.

Have a great one and try not to kill anything will ya {::SMILES}.
