Set for Germany!

I think I have everything set for our trip to Germany and I’ve finally recuperated from this weekend!!

This past weekend we all went to the market and we all did go to London (yea, Savitri drove there and back, did the tube, and had a fabby time). We didn’t make it to the museum though. The girls and I didn’t wake up until 9 a.m. and by the time we were all ready to go it was 10:15 BUT we had so much fun window shopping and M thought Hamleys was wonderful. She did get to pick one item up — well threee, it was a 3-in-1 deal. How was Hamleys? It was big, four stories big, but I don’t think it’s as nice as FAO Schwarz (and probably as big too). I was surprised, even though we only went to the ground and third (girl) floor (fifth too if you count the toilet stop), I didn’t see any Le Toy Van’s stuff. It’s my favorite toy brand and a UK company. One thing is for sure, Hamleys is probably THE oldest toy store at 250-years-old!!

Then, between the market and London, Saturday night I participated in a virtual crop with some best blog female friends, bbff: Ashley Cannon Newells, Ayana Posada, Claudia Shadler, Laurel Beard, Naomi Chokr, and Sarah Martina Parker. There were also others who popped in just for a tad bit, Courtney Baker, Kelly Marie, Tiffany Johnson, Tina Fussell, and Paulina Nakamura (Kelly and Paulina I actually didn’t get to meet) and it was so much fun!! The above page was I made that night. I just got one thing done the six hours I was up with them (it was 9 p.m. – 3 a.m. for me) because we all were chit-chatting the first few hours. But hey, that’s normal for a crop, right?

As for the trip… I’ve decided to go with the B&B closest to everything and feel best about, Chardon Room, with a slight change of plan. We’ll only stay a night and then we will stay another night in the town of Bouillon, Belgium. I want to pass by, see what’s there, and plan another trip sometimes in the near future to see more of this place. There are TONS of awesome places in this region and one night doesn’t do justice. Now, here’s a tip for you… DO book your hotel early IF you have a family traveling to a touristy place on a weekend. I think I booked the last hotel in Bouillon. There are openings but they’re singles or small doubles. I got tired of emailing B&Bs and getting the “we’re full” replies so I just got us a room at this place called Hotel Cozy. Granted we can be lucky like we were in Germany and got probably THE last B&B to have a decent size bed I don’t want to chance it with Jovie.

I’ll tell you more about what I learned the past few researching for places to stay in Belgium for now, let’s just see the details of the page…

It’s a VERY simple page. I just added a few big stuff to make this layout interesting. The design came from Pencil Lines, sketch 200, but I didn’t follow their colors because I didn’t have anything complimenting that’d fit the photo.

For the corner there I just layered some My Little Shoebox chipboard. I almost used the whole package. The paper were scraps. I think it’s a bit of KI, My Mind’s Eyes, Prima, and Making Memories. The alphas were Cosmo Cricket and Prima.

Well, that’s it! I’ll share more later about Belgium!

Gift Wrapping 101

Are you gift wrap challenged? If the answer is yes, you SHOULD ask my husband to teach you! He’s REALLY good!!! See this sample below?

Christmas Present

A few tips from the hubby your gifts can also look like his!

M and I watched Flinstones Saved Christmas on YouTube and Fred’s gift wrapping scene made me think of my recent Christmas present from the husband. So, after the girls went to bed I decided to scrapbook this photo using a Pencil Line sketch, #171.

What’s in there? It’s a soft box kit (I think it’s this one) from Calumet. Basically what he did was grabbed the box the UPS man delivered, took it upstairs, and wrapped. Instead of opening the box and wrapping 3-4 boxes he (somewhat) wrapped one huge box. Now, is this just a man thing or is there something wrong with my husband?

Well, have a nice night. I should sleep early one of these night. I know that one day this staying up late will catch up to me.

Opportunity

Hey! Hope you had a great week!!! I’m away from home… at a conference… thus the little posting and blog hopping. But I got this made before I left and I thought I’d share today.

I can’t wait to go home. Miss my little family already! One more presentation this morning and I am free. Yeah!!! I did though have a great time just chit-chatting with two of my work friends here… We went back to our rooms early but it was nice to just hang out with no need to go back to anybody. So that part was a treat although I wish I had a long island or at least a glass of wine to drink too. I could have a tiny bit, half a glass, of wine but I didn’t want people to stare at me ha ha… my last drink was months ago.

Have a great one! More later!!!!

Material: Scraps from previous pages… sketch from Pencil Lines.

Finally, a Scrapbook Page!

I felt like scrapbooking last night and came up with this. Yeah!!! I’ve been wanting to do more but my scrapbooking mojo is hiding somewhere. For this I used a Pencil Line sketch (#124), the latest. Fun and not too complicated. I used one of my Scarlet Lime kit. I think it was December’s. I really should mark them. I love the background paper, so so pretty. Even though I haven’t used Feb. kit, I can’t wait to get the March kit. SOOOO gorgeous!!!! I am such a hog!!!

It’s Wednesday. Yeah!!! Been a busy week. A lot to do. Tonight is card night again. I think we’re doing Easter. Laters!

Enjoy Friends Together It’s Wednesday! Wow, this week went by quick! How about you?

Here’s a quick page that I did using Sassafrass Lass paper, American Craft chipboard, Primas, K&Company chipboard, Martha Stewart’s butterfly punch, and some paint. I bought three pieces of the Sassafrass paper I think and I’ve created three LO with them. I am either stingy or just using these papers to the max! I believe I even have enough for a card or two. I’ve been liking using a little bit or a variety of pattern paper in my LO. That’s why my pattern papers have been going a loooong way. The layout is based on PL sketch #90. Awesome sketch be Debee Campos! She’s one of the fashionista at ScrapinStyle aka SIStv. If you haven’t checked SIStv out, oh you should. You’re missing out. All the talents in there. WOWSER!!!

This was my best friend’s wedding four years ago in AZ. It was a wedding and a reunion. Since we graduated, this was the first time us girls got together again. It was fun, fun! My friend is Filipino but she grew up in American Samoa. She’s an awesome dancer and that there is her dance group performing. They were great! I wish I can move my hips the way they do!!! Yeah, that’d be the day, hee…

I am suppose to receive some Stampin’ Up! stuff today. I CAN’T wait!!!
