No Baby Yet…
Posted on | June 3, 2009 | 12 Comments
Well, tomorrow’s my due date! If this is just like M then I’d have her tomorrow. If not then Savitri’s off to some who knows what procedure at the doc’s office to get this girl out. SCARED!!!! Ok, not scared but I’m just a big pain wussy.
In the mean time I made this card today to help me relax. I used more stuff from the Matahati (Scrap Orchards) paper I printed out the other day and a tag. The sentiment is SU rub-ons and the ribbon + polka dot stamp is PTI.
Here’s a story… We had some neighbor’s kid + her friend stop by last Sunday. M loves playing with them. The weather was warm and just like any other year we haven’t turned our AC on (our house stays cools and we have a lot of breeze too). Lately at home I’ve just been feeling like wearing hubby’s Ts and my under-roos. Yeah yeah, TMI but without this detail I can’t tell you my story… But really, on me, his Ts always look like a little mini-dress. Quite appropriate, right?
So while the kids were outside playing I said to hubby: I hope the girls don’t come in. I don’t want to change. Soon after I said that M came in to get something and hubby said to her: M, make sure the girls don’t come in. Mommy’s walking around in her underwear.
URGH! Did you see the problems? First, hubby reworded what I was wearing. Second, I knew and he knew too that M would repeat it. Sure enough, soon after hubby told her that M went back outside and screamed: Girls, don’t come in the house, ok. My mommy’s walking around in her underwear.
I gave hubby the death look and hubby laughed his little ass off. He knew M was going to repeat it. He knew!!!! One day, one day, I’ll get even!!!!
White Balance

Lisa Spangler has a new challenge at her blog. Check it out!! Last week she put together a white balance tutorial. If your card picture rarely comes out the way your card should look, you might want to check out Lisa’s tutorial and test your skills by doing the challenge!
On a normal day, I would just shoot in RAW and then go into Photoshop CS3 and do some more editing. I’d change the white balance a tad bit, edit the hightlight/lighting, contrast and stuff to make the photo stand out a bit. But for this I resisted and here are the photos as is. I hope the photos turned out ok though… my Mac needs to go to the shop and I haven’t had the chance to take it in so I’ve been using the laptop and my color and brightness isn’t quite calibrated. Oh well… soon, soon. After baby’s here I’ll do some major errands with kids in tow {::SMILES}.
I think the results would be more dramatic if I did the photo shoot at night but I wanted to get this done and posted… in case I have a baby ya know {::SMILES}. So here’s mine…

Edited in Photoshop CS3 RAW editor
Ok, have a great one!!! Still waiting for the babe to come out…
Material: PTI polka dots basics stamps (embossed on the base but you can’t really see it), ribbon, ink, and twine; pattern paper by Matahati from Scrap Orchard, and sentiment by Stampin’ Up! For the scallops I just used my corner rounder and Crop-a-dile and the dots was done with the Cuttlebug + Swiss dots template.
Lazy Weekend

Hmmm… I have nothing to say, ha! I did but my brain just quit on me (hubby and M kept telling me I have preggo brain). But here’s a card for Kristina’s color challenge #50: brown, red, turquoise, yellow, and white. I love the colors. It’s funny too, I did this color combo just recently too: Mother. I used the same pattern paper for this card, a digital paper by Matahati Designs: Girly Girl. The rest, just bits of things that were on my table: American Craft Moda Bella paper (the yellow leaves) that I trimmed out and chipboard, SU ribbon and stamp set (which I then punch with Martha Stewart’s butterfly punch), pin from Scarlet Lime, beads, rick-racks, Cuttlebug dot template, and PTI sentiment.
This is a card for hubby’s friend who is getting married next month but I might make another one for the occasion. It seems too busy and I don’t know them. The invite we received was simple so I might just save this for somebody else and create something more elegant and simple. What do you think? Hubby hasn’t seen this but he’ll probably agree with me.
Is This a Compliment… Or Not?

I guess, I’m learning here, certain things should just be kept unanswered. Or just plain DON’T ASK. A few nights ago I was feeling giddy and asked hubby: Do I still have a sexy butt (I was in flannel jammies, with the pants over my stomach… like Charlie Chaplin… and posing like a model sideways… I looked ridiculous)? FYI — I never had one but again, I was feeling silly that night. He looked at me and said: Yes, it’s sexier… there’s more of it. I stopped and looked at him. I think I looked like a cocker spaniel… cocker spaniels tilts their heads back and forth when they’re analyzing something… at least mine did. Then I asked: Was that a compliment or did you just say I have a big butt? He just looked at me and smirked. He plead the Fifth. I couldn’t get any answer out of him and somehow we ended up laughing. What do you think?
So here’s my last project from last weekend – our silly girl – I’m telling you, she LOVES to pose. I have NOT done anything this week. I started but just not motivated and I’ve been tired more lately too. I used up my last purchase from Archivers, the Fancy Pants paper. This is also a hybrid page. I used my leftover from Matahati Designs (Scrap Orchards, Vintage Charm) which is the diamond paper, the tag and the fairy over the tag. There are some K&Co stuff too and a flower pattern paper that I cut out some while back but never used. See those flowers? The last ones from my oooold Prima pack. I also did some stamping… see the SU Organic Garden? I was going to use the flower and leaf for a card but they didn’t work out well and there they are.
Have a GREAT weekend! Hopefully I’ll get some mojo for at least the 2S4Y card that I’m sketching and creating a sample for next week. It’s my LAST DT card for 2S4Y and my week to create a sketch for them. So check both out Monday!!! Oh, 5.5 more weeks until I pop this baby out. YEAH!
Noodle

My M wanted this photo taken. She’s silly that way. So here she was, in her fancy dress, with a ramen noodle sticking out of her mouth. Yes, it’s her favorite junk food. Since it’s earth day today I thought it’d be appropriate to use at least something recycled. So for this page I used the cardboard of a paper pack and the butterflies came from an old sheet note. Everything else… all from my stash. I used up the rest of the Matahati paper (from the DgiChick) on this page. I love how pink it is. I think this is my favorite page this year.
Speaking of the girl, she’s so sweet. Opposite of the turkey butt comment. The other day I looked at myself in the mirror and said, “Woah, I look fat.” Probably not a good thing to say in front of a kid but the words just came out. M was brushing her hair and she looked at me, gave me the up-down, and said, “Mommy, you don’t look fat. You still look beautiful.” Ahhhhh, that made my day! She’s still my sweet M {::SMILES}.
