Congratulations

Back to just plain-o stampin’ {::SMILES} using Kristina’s colors #52: baja, saffron, mustard, sand, and white. I used my Inkadinkado stamps and SU’s Congrats. For the dragonfly I adhere some Pixie Pixles by Pink Paislee (I have a pen glue by Martha Stewart so it’s easy to go around the edges of the dragonfly). Just something sweet and simple for a friend who just had a baby… and C-section. She had a boy and I thought I’d keep the card neutral with a dash of blue of mama and him. This is my second attempt. I’ll show you my first (and improvised) attempt on my next post.

I have two more weeks, yeah! Yesterday I got myself a treat… a handicap pass! Yes, much needed!!! The folks at work are redoing the parking lot across the street from my office and so I have to park a bit away and on bad days it’s soooooooo painful. Just like today. So for the next two weeks I can park right outside my building door. It’s really nice since right now I feel like somebody kicked me on the crotch and then crushed my bones to little pieces. I have good days and bad days. Today’s one of them bad days.

Ok, hope your day’s a lot less painful than mine. More later!

I Am Still Creating…

Take Care

I made this simple card last night after card night. Fun card night. Not as many people as usual but still great. I’ll show you those later. This one I made using Kristina’s colors: brown, mustard, white, and rose. Except for the ribbon, button, and thread, everything is SU.

K, hope you’re having a wonderful Thursday!!!!

Lazy Weekend

Best Wishes

Hmmm… I have nothing to say, ha! I did but my brain just quit on me (hubby and M kept telling me I have preggo brain). But here’s a card for Kristina’s color challenge #50: brown, red, turquoise, yellow, and white. I love the colors. It’s funny too, I did this color combo just recently too: Mother. I used the same pattern paper for this card, a digital paper by Matahati Designs: Girly Girl. The rest, just bits of things that were on my table: American Craft Moda Bella paper (the yellow leaves) that I trimmed out and chipboard, SU ribbon and stamp set (which I then punch with Martha Stewart’s butterfly punch), pin from Scarlet Lime, beads, rick-racks, Cuttlebug dot template, and PTI sentiment.

This is a card for hubby’s friend who is getting married next month but I might make another one for the occasion. It seems too busy and I don’t know them. The invite we received was simple so I might just save this for somebody else and create something more elegant and simple. What do you think? Hubby hasn’t seen this but he’ll probably agree with me.

My Turkey Butt

Life is Sweet

That’s what M said last month or so. It came from this: I call her little butt “chicken butt”. I don’t know if there is such a term but it came from chicken legs in my little head. When I ask her to do something I’d say something like, “get your chicken butt up stairs.” So one morning while I was getting dressed… to be more exact I was putting my pants on and my bum was facing the door… Emma came in my closet and she said, “Mommy, you have a turkey butt. Your butt got big!” AHHHHHHHHH!!!! If not her daddy it’s my (oh so honest) little girl who makes “sweet” remarks. So from that day on, every so often, the turkey butt comment would surface — and even the neighbors know that I have a turkey butt (husbands and kids aren’t shy about announcing these types of things, huh?). The last time hubby used it was when he asked me to sit on his back and give him a little cracking (his chiropractor loves him… he helps pay for her mocha every week) a few weeks ago. He laid down on the floor and said, “Can you get your turkey ass down here and push my back?” GRRR (imagine a cartoon character… Donald Duck or something… beet red, twisted face, and horns coming out of his head)!!!! So I sweetly agreed and I plopped my turkey butt down on his back. I literally took his breath away ha ha ha ha… I did this for a good minute, moving up his back, until he got his lungs functioning again and he told me to get off. I think if I wasn’t pregnant he’d box me but hey, if I wasn’t pregnant I would have the privilege to be called turkey butt, huh?

Ok, here’s a card that I created using Laura’s sketch #23 at 2Sketches4You and Kristina’s colors #48: chocolate chip, kiwi, baja, and white. The chipboards are by K&Co, the ribbon is Making Memories (awesome find at the $1.99 — 6 yrds total — bin at Archivers), and the stamps are Stampin’ Up!

For You

For You

Ahhh, it’s nice again outside!!! The weather in the Midwest is always crazy in the spring time it seems. Here’s a card I created today using Kristina’s colors for this week: Chocolate chip, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, and Whisper White.

Today my sciatic nerve is killing me. It’s so nice when hubby rubs on it but of course he can’t do it 24/7. I really wish I can have a personal right side hip/bum masseuse ha ha ha. My vitamins (the B12 is what usually soothes it) isn’t doing me good.

Material: Biggest round Nestabilities for the card shape. Michael’s ribbon; American Craft felt flower; G Studio Owl stamp; SU For You stamp set (April mini); JoAnn’s ribbon, pompoms, and lace,; Su cardstock.
