Freebie: Paw Die-Cut + Keeping Up with My Goals

Posted on | January 26, 2009 | 31 Comments

HelloBefore I start… if you have an electronic die-cut machine, scroll down. I have a freebie.

If you stopped by a few weeks ago, I mentioned my 2009 goals and one is to do at least two challenges a week. Since then I’ve been pretty dang good! I have also met my “get two things published this year.” I have a Jan. Scrapbook Trends page published (it’s under the Showcase section) and I have another one this Feb. for an online publication called Bella Scraps. Both have been by accident so yes I’ve met my goal but it’s not like I was trying. Do they still count?

So here’s my second challenge for this week, a card created using a 2Sketches4You sketch and also inspired by Caardvarks: polka dots. For the paper I used SU card stock, KI and Damask (the b/w flourishes that I trimmed out of a whole paper) pattern paper, and Sassafrass stamp. The sentiment I think is CTMH. It was a freebie from a scrapbook expo. The ribbons were garage store finds and I used my Nestabilities for the circle and scallop circle behind the owl.

I am home sick today. Just not feeling too hot. Between soreness from being preggo (I had nerve issues with M too) and trying to fight a cold I decided to stay home. The good thing out of it… after a nice nap and some tea, I could whip up a card {::SMILES}.

Paw Outer
Paw Inner

The freebie… a while back I made this paw print for this layout. To download, just right click and “save as.”

Just FYI, I only have a KnK but from what I read, those with other machines (Wishblade, CraftRobo, Cricut Expression with proper software) will be able to import either the SVG, DXF, or PDF file. For the JPEG images, just click on the paw images to download them.

Alrighty, have a great one. I think I’ll nap some more!

25th Bday Card I wish it’d be me turning 25, ha! I can’t tell you who this card’s for. I’m not sure if she reads my blog.

Well, I had my 20-weeks appt. and everything is great. I have gained a whoopin’ 11 lbs, finally starting to show, but not quite fitting into my old maternity pants yet. They’re the pants with buttons on the sides to expand but even the smallest ones are too big still. I think I need to get me some of them band ones. My regular pants are getting too tight… my butt’s definitely getting bigger if nothing else.

This weekend, Saturday, hubby and I have a ball to go to. Oh so exciting. I feel like Cinderella, ha ha. It’s his work’s gala but it’s a special one, it’ll be at a hotel in Kansas City instead of at his work or at my work’s ballroom (aka the university’s student union). M’s going to stay with a good friend of ours and so it’ll be date night with hubs and I. Yeah! It’s been a while since we had date night. It’ll be a big treat before baby comes along!! I wonder if we’ll see this bike as the centerpiece at the gala. Quite the bike.

Ok… a card created using colors from Kristina Werner: Ruby red, pretty in pink, pumpkin pie, and whisper white. Paper’s from Stampin’ Up and the stamp is PTI. The ribbon is recycled from the Pottery Barn Kids – they always wrap their toys in pink polka dot paper and pink solid gross grain ribbon. If you look really close, there are some rub-ons too on the left next to the scallop paper. It came from SU, Love and Happiness. For the 25, I used my Klic-n-Kut die-cut machine.

M’s 5th Bday Card

Five Her birthday isn’t until February but I’m trying to be more organized this year!

My first 2S4Y sketch for this year!! No stamps, just layers of papers and embellishments. I used Cosmo Cricket, October Afternoon, and Prima pattern papers. The pink fruit, it’s from my Scarlet Lime kit, the birdie and five I cut using my KnK die-cut machine, the butterfly is Martha Stewart and the blue see through flowers are Heidi Swapps. Ribbon, hmmm… I found that. I think it came from a package and the lace behind it was from a fabric store at the KC Plaza.

This card is for my little M. It’s for her 5th birthday. I think she’ll LOVE it. I am very lucky to have a little girl who loves everything I make for her. She’s so cute too, all grown up when she says, “Mommy, that is soooo cute! Wow, I love it!!” I really like this card. I think all my favorite cards have been ones that I make for this little brat.

Ok, I’m starting to have goals for this year. I have the project 365, where I’ll be taking pics everyday (they’re in my Flickr gallery if you’re interested), then I also want to do two challenges a week. I usually do Kristina’s challenges so adding another one shouldn’t be too hard. I also want to have two things published this year. It was fun seeing a few of my work published and the freebies are awesome. I actually have one published in January so I only have one more to go, ha! Cheating? Well, I want little goals so that anything more is extra! That way I won’t be too disappointed if I can’t reach most or all of them.

Laters!
