Day 2: Hearts

Last week or so Tiffany tweeted and said something like she looked at her clothes for inspiration. Today Jovie was what inspired me… and the Just Us Girls challenge to use dry embossing. The stamps I used are WPlus9′s new June sets: Background Basic: Hearts and the Birds and the Bees. You really should see what Dawn’s created. LOTS of possibilities!!!

The card’s fairly simple. The flowers (felt) were die-cut using SU’s flower template. Then I adhere everything together using fabric glue. The center of the button is twine. Just one of the things I purchased from Olive Manna. For the card, I embossed first using Cuttlebug’s small polka dot embossing folder. Then I stamped the hearts. After that I just added what you see above until I was happy with the result. This is how I make anything. I never have any idea how things are going to end up looking, I just wing it.

Last… here’s the girl that inspired me:

She figured out that she can play on top pf mom’s box of ribbons to rummage through whatever’s back there… most likely the othe smaller boxes of ribbons.

Wuih! What a week! It’s been crazy busy here and I think in a little bit I will be able to relax… furniture-less but relaxing! The moving folks are coming to pick up our stuff mid-month (FINALLY!!). It’ll take about 55-60 days to get to the UK. Then early April they’re going to take everything else like extra clothes, pots and pans, crafty stuff, etc. This last part is called unaccompanied baggage and this shipment takes about 40-45 days to get to the UK. When will we leave? About April 21st. That’s more less what I am aiming for. M’s British school starts the 20th (last term) but I have a presentation on the 20th (and a breakfast the 19th). The headmaster said it’s ok for her to start a tad bit later so we’re going to try and have her go that following Monday… unless she’s got crazy jet lag.

Today I just want to share a card based on a sketch by Just Us Girls and sponsored by Wplus9. Great sketch and I loooove Wplus9′s stamps!! Oh, release #2 are coming up soon and I’ve gotten a sneaky peaky of them and they are FABULOUS!! Trust me! I cannot wait to get my hands on them and other goodies that Dawn of Wplus9 has in store!

I used Funky Foliage for this card and some digi paper by Dysfunctional Design, Skwerm, at The DigiChick.
