Another Plum Card
Posted on | November 7, 2009 | 6 Comments
Just a really quick post. Want to share a card I made today. It’s a birthday with the intention that whenever I get to giving this away I can add an age to the card. Most likely this will be given to one of M’s girl friend. It’s kind of kiddie looking don’t you think?
Then some pics of Jovie and daddy. I’ve been sharing M’s pics a lot lately and I thought today would be a great Jovie (she’s wearing dad’s hat on the first picture) and daddy share day. She’s 5-mo-old now and eating quite well. She finally got the hang of chewing two weeks ago. We’re now in squash. I just baked and mashed up a batch earlier today. Not my thing… I’m not into squash, sweet potatoes, potatoes, pumpkins, but I’ll feed them to my kids and husband.
Hope you have a great one! The photo’s fuzzy… not something I’d blow up but I love them.

How’s your week so far? Our has been BUSY since hubby’s on a 12-hr shift at work since Sunday!!! We had a great weekend though! Saturday we spent a nice time in Kansas City. We had my birthday luncheon, sushi, and then went to check-out a pumpkin patch at a farm in Liberty, MO. We went there because we heard that they have awesome pumpkin donuts. I don’t care for pumpkins but hubby thought it was great and so he bought 4 dz of them. Yes, 48 stinkin’ donuts!!! Oh, we got into a fender bender too. Dang! Just a hassle that’s all. The girl swore she wasn’t on her cell phone… hmmm… she freaked out when she saw Jovie but really it was just a tap but big enough for me to get my back bumper fixed.
On Sunday Jovie poop’d. Ok, this is a HUGE deal!! She hasn’t poop’d in 4 stinkin’ days!!! The doc said babies can go on poop breaks but still, momma bear here got a bit worried. I think Jove felt a lot better after too cause she asked for a nap soon after that, which is good cause I had a huge mess to clean!!!
My card is pretty simple. I used PaperTrey’s stamps and a little ribbon that I found in my stash. The card stock bottom I distress a bit and on the snowflakes I added some Pink Paislee pixies that I adhere with Martha Stewart’s glue pen. Simple and shimmery {::SMILES}.
Alright, here are some pics of M. No Jovie cause she was on me and hubby didn’t feel like being in the picture (he was too into his donuts ha ha!!).
So here we go again… me playing single mom. It gets tough cause M has activities in the evening and having hubby around really cuts my travel time. I’m so thankful that my work schedule is flexible and it’s ok for me to leave a tad bit early here and there. More later, bye!!
I Love My Hubby

Cause he always makes me laugh {::GRIN}.
I sent him an email with these two pictures (taken the same time as the crazy binky pic but post-processed differently in Photoshop… I’m just trying all sorts of effects) and he replied back with the following:
“Thanks babe. I don’t like the first picture though. She looks like a
sinister mad scientist hell-bent on creating an army of mutant hamsters
for the purpose of taking over NASA so she can fly to a new planet and
build a giant laser to blow up the earth.”
Wow!! Amazingly, the stick in the mud me laughed.
Happy Monday!!! Hope that gave you a little chuckle too. I do have a project to share but I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of it. I’ll post later tonight! Oh, if you haven’t, check out my M’s very own and first sketch challenge. Do play! It’ll make her very happy. Emma saw the first submission from Melissa and she was grinning from ear to ear. M even wrote her a personal message (THANK YOU, Melissa!!!). She said she wants to personally write to everybody. M spells phonetically so get ready for some deciphering. She loves writing and even though I might need a lot of happy drinks after (wishful thinking though cause I’m nursing) I love helping her. M said it’s helping her practice writing and the best part I think is being able to sit on my lap, browsing, and commenting together after Jovie’s gone to bed.
Jovie’s Baptismal

Jovie had a very lovely baptismal. The priest who did it wasn’t our regular and so we weren’t sure what he was going to do (he kept saying he’s never dropped a baby before) and we thought he did a very nice job. The reading we could have done without (I’ll write where it’s from when I find the bulletin) but it was about cutting your hand off if your hand sins and plucking your eye out if your eye sins.
Anyhow, here are some pics… the dress is a hand-me-down (like most of Jovie’s stuff) from M and her booties were sent all the way from Malaysia by the lovely Cindy. Jovie was asleep before the event. She woke up a bit before the water hit her head but she didn’t cry throughout the whole ceremony.
Ok, so THIS was why the priest kept saying he’s never dropped a kid. I guess this is how he presents the newest member of the church to everyone there. It was really neat. I’ve never seen any of the priest do it this way.
Just us being blessed. The godmother is my best friend here in town. M LOVES her and her little boy. I think one day we’re going to be related since M and the little man get a long so well and he ALWAYS ask for M (and M does too) he he he… it’s so so cute! The godfather couldn’t make it and my friend’s husband was kind enough to stand in for him.
Jovie and dad. We had lunch downtown after the event. Check out this little daddy’s girl. Of course the husband’s ecstatic about her loving him like this. M was and is a momma’s girl and we think it’s mostly because he was gone a lot when M was little. So he’s so happy to have a second chance!
There’s sister. I love my M’s style. Fancy dress with converse {::SMILES}. Love her little dress. It’s a Hanna Anderssen dress that I found at a consignment store. I {HEART} consignment stores!!! I hope there are some in England!!!!
Here’s our little angel. She’ll be four months this weekend. Time goes by!!!! She’s starting to grab things. Not very well but trying to.
This is a close-up of her booties. CUTE CUTE CUTE! I need to put her little outfit back on again today. I never got a close-up picture of her and her garb. We (as usual) were rushing out the door.
Monday Fun

This video was made in March and I posted it on my Facebook account. I figured it’d be ok to share here too. This is my crazy husband. He’s sweet but he’s also insane. My M loves his craziness. It’s so weird, how a girl like me can like a guy like him. I would NEVER do what he did in this video:
Have a great Monday!!
