When You Can’t Color
Posted on | January 21, 2010 | 5 Comments
Find a pretty paper and stamp the image on it. I think the butterfly looks way better than if I were to hand color it myself {::SMILE}.
Been MIA the last few days. Just A LOT going on. After this weekend it’ll be calmer — maybe — I hope — we’ll see…
This is why I love butterfly stamps (Hero Arts cling stamp). The 3D flying effect/look. I put some shimmers (Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist). You probably can’t see it.
For the butterfly I used the last bit of Quirky Twerp’s Gardenologie paper. The other day I got a shipment from PTI and lookie lookie… background stamps! I wish I had more time (made this card in 15 minutes) but with the time I had I just had to use one of my new goodies. For the sentiment I used a digital wordart by Manda Bean at Sweet Shoppe Designs. I got the Adoption set. Even though I don’t know of anybody who is adopting I think a lot of the sentiments can apply to any. Very pretty!!
I think we’re having hubby’s friends over for dinner. I’m not sure. He’s in charge. We’re kind of weird that way. If it’s his friend he’s in charge of prepping the food if it’s mine or ours it’ll be me. Have a good one!
2Sketches Gardenologie

I hope you’re having a wonderful day!! We are! Except for my craft room, which seems to get messier and messier, we got our house cleaned today. Yeah!! I did though manage to make this one card based on 2Sketches4You sketch for this week.
For the paper I used a digital kit by Quirky Twerp at the DigiChick: Gardenologie.
Really pretty kit and I’ll be using this in the near future for some digital pages. If you’re wondering, I printed the paper for the flower on regular printer paper. Because it’s not so thick it was easier to crunch up the flower. The tip of the flowers I Mod Podged and then covered with glitters. I let it sit for a bit and tapped the excess. The butterfly was a stamp by Hero Arts. I love acrylic stamps because you can see through them but there’s nothing better than good old red rubber stamps. They just stamp so well! The ribbon’s Martha Stewart and the sentiment is Crate Paper.
That’s it. I better get to cooking. I have friends coming over in a bit. I am making tortilla soup. I’ll be sharing more hybrid stuff in the next few. I got quite a bit of things printed out over the weekend. Laters!
It’s a Baby…

I used some Hero Arts stamps and the “baby” is Heidi Swapp. The alpha is Making Memories and the paper, scallop punch, and ink pad is Stampin’ Up. I used Copic markers to color the owls. The colors, I used Kristina’s color challenge for this week: chocolate chip, baja breeze, pumpkin pie, whisper white, and old olive. Oh, there are sparkles on the “baby” too. I used an American Craft glitter pen. The best $1.99 spent lately, ha! There’s a ribbon that I sewed on too.
I was going for fun and cute without going all the way baby looking. What do you think?
We’re going to have breakfast and get ready to go. I’ll share the news after we tell our families!
I Made a Card!

So here it is, based on another Kristina color challenge: chocolate chip, kiwi kiss, pumpkin pie, and very vanilla. I did some sewing too to kind of match the ribbon.
There’s not a whole lot of story to tell either. I’ll have tonight and tomorrow and then off to Springfield, MO for my web (geek) conference. When I learn something cool and useful for you bloggers I’ll share but most likely the info will go over my head too, ha! The presenters are big web developers folks including big universities like Princeton. So will be interesting. Sunday will be a half day of XML and XSLT. Oh boy, huh?
Well, I’m going to enjoy the weekend, whatever I have left, with the family. Laters!

PTI Blog Hopping Again

Here’s mine for the blog hop. The challenge for this month is to use vellum. My vellum is under the “Miss You.” It’s kind of sparkly. I hope I’m not too late.
Simple card using PTI and Hero’s Arts stamps and I wrote the always. The ribbon is Offrey’s. Oh, I used dimensionals on the ruby red paper. Gives the card more depth.
The inside of the card looks like this. There’s a lonely little owl waiting for whoever it is he’s missing. Sad, huh?
Ok, going to go eat… have a great blog hop and I’ll be back hopin’ afterwards.
