A Little Cutesy Card
Posted on | March 13, 2009 | 12 Comments
This card was inspired by Caardvark. Their card theme is little critter. I saw this hybrid kit at TDC (Hybrid Kid Match Cards) and thought it’d be perfect. I haven’t done a simple cutesy card in a while so I thought I’d do it on this.
I had my 28-wks appt. My fundal height was 4 cm too short. Four weeks ago it was 2 cm and the midwife said that if it’s still small the next appt. she’d schedule an ultrasound. She believed that baby’s fine because her heart beat and movements were strong but we’ll see next Wednesday. The weird part… I’m not at all worried. Whatever will be will be. I guess I believe to much in fate and the higher being. I can only do my best but there are just things I cannot control. Whatever they may be I see them as life’s lessons. I use to be more uptight and for a few things, that I have control of, I can get very picky still but for other things… I’ve mellowed out quite a bit.
Anyhow, have a great weekend folks. I plan on laying low and supervise hubby with the basement. We have the carpet guy come in the end of the month. Yeah!!!!
He’s So Sweet

Well, I started this post yesterday but didn’t feel like writing anything. I’ve made stuff but just not in the blogging mood. Here’s another card that we did at the workshop last Tuesday. Another simple card using one of the SAB set, Botanical Bloom and Congrats, and the floral die cut. The card is 4.25×4.25 and the blue paper is 2×4.75. The red ribbon is just a regular knot and I used the SU glue dots to adhere the flower to the ribbon and the button to the flower. Fun and easy (at least I think).
The good stuff… my hubby’s the best. He volunteered (it’s always been his thing) to talk to kindergarten students in Kansas City yesterday. He said the kids were all so sweet (and he hopes they stay that way). My husband is very good with kids and he’s also one hell of a story teller (even if the event was a sad one he’d make you cry because you laughed so hard). His speech teacher said he missed his calling, ha! He loves little boys but because he’s around us two girls and M is only months or a year younger than these kids he was awesome with the girls. In one class he had a hard time with this little girl. She would not let go of his leg. She wanted to go home with him. In another class this girl asked him why he calls all the girls baby (he called the boys baba) and he told her (and the class) that it’s how he calls his two girls at home. The little girl then said, “I want to be your baby.” That just broke his heart. He was in an inner-city school. He said some seemed well cared for and loved but the others, he could tell they’re not as lucky. I think yesterday he wanted to take a few kids home.
Hope you’re having a great Friday. YEAH! Have a great one and hope your evening is wonderful. Give your babies some extra kisses and hugs. I know they deserve it!
I Needed Cilantro But…

Here’s a card that I created using two challenges. The first is Kazan’s sketch from 2S4Y and the other is Cinema Saturday’s Casablanca. After creating this card I realized that there’s a twist on the Casablanca card (I got to learn to read better) and that there’s a color requirement of black, white, gray, and a color of my choice. My colors are way off. I got the black and white right but obviously I have more colors than what was asked. BUT, I got the romantic portion down {::SMILES}. This is my Valentine’s card for the hubby. Hope he likes it (it’s not pink and there are no glitters, he should, ha!).
Material:
Mostly from my Scarlet Lime kit: SEI paper (the flower cut-out), b/w wrapping paper, and buttons and butterfly. Cardstocks are SU’s and the tag is K&Co Amy Butler. I used my Cuttlebug too for the texture – since the machine and template are still out from the other card.
Hope you had a great Monday. I was off today, yeah!

Well, I had my 20-weeks appt. and everything is great. I have gained a whoopin’ 11 lbs, finally starting to show, but not quite fitting into my old maternity pants yet. They’re the pants with buttons on the sides to expand but even the smallest ones are too big still. I think I need to get me some of them band ones. My regular pants are getting too tight… my butt’s definitely getting bigger if nothing else.
This weekend, Saturday, hubby and I have a ball to go to. Oh so exciting. I feel like Cinderella, ha ha. It’s his work’s gala but it’s a special one, it’ll be at a hotel in Kansas City instead of at his work or at my work’s ballroom (aka the university’s student union). M’s going to stay with a good friend of ours and so it’ll be date night with hubs and I. Yeah! It’s been a while since we had date night. It’ll be a big treat before baby comes along!! I wonder if we’ll see this bike as the centerpiece at the gala. Quite the bike.
Ok… a card created using colors from Kristina Werner: Ruby red, pretty in pink, pumpkin pie, and whisper white. Paper’s from Stampin’ Up and the stamp is PTI. The ribbon is recycled from the Pottery Barn Kids – they always wrap their toys in pink polka dot paper and pink solid gross grain ribbon. If you look really close, there are some rub-ons too on the left next to the scallop paper. It came from SU, Love and Happiness. For the 25, I used my Klic-n-Kut die-cut machine.
Thank You

Oh, the Kristina colors for this week: pale plum, perfect plum, sage shadow, celery, and bordering blue.
Alrighty, me tired. Going to bed!! Laters!
