Sweet Baby Girl

Hi y’all! I just have a little card to share with you today. After this post I am hoping to be torturing the hubby, I mean shopping with him with the girls, in Cambridge. He likes shopping but he’s not too fond of me reading every single label to find out the best piece(s) for our needs/usage. He’s a man, he grabs and go.

Now this little card I created using Pebbles stencil, chipboard flower and rub-on. You can read the how-to here and also, on the Pebbles post previous to Free for All, there’s a giveaway which ends Sunday at midnight (EST). So hurry on up there!!

You can do this with any stencil. I have a few metal ones from back in the days when there were no embossing tool like the Cuttlebug/Sizzix and I had to use a lightbox to emboss. But, the ones I have, the metal ones, are not as cute as the Pebbles one.

Ta ta for now!!!

A Little CSS

SW-RockaBye-3

It’s Monday… almost Tuesday! Yes, I can feel it, this week will just zoom on by very quickly. In one hand it’ll be wonderful, a day closer to us leaving for the UK, on the other hand, I feel like we still have a lot to do! This weekend we plan on moving into base lodging. That way we can get every little thing mailed over and just worry about what we’ll be wearing. So we’ll see, so far it looks like we’re on target.

Card wise… I have here a little Clear and Simple card using the April’s stamp: Rock-a-Bye. Do you like the die-cut shape? I do! I’d like to use the shape for tags and clouds. I think it’ll make pretty clouds! This is a simple baby card. Something neutral for a girl or boy. It was pretty quick to make too and quick cards are always nice when you’re in jam — like 5 minutes before a baby shower, ha!

Ok, short and sweet. If you like the cardstock color, get it at CSS, it’s called Orange You Fabulous and the button is CSS also: Dare to Be Diva Red or in the Designer Mix.

Laters!

My First Homemade Bread

Posted on | January 10, 2010 | 11 Comments

First a card:

Baby Shower

I used PTI stamps and the pattern paper is a little bit of leftover from one of my digital papers from Shabby Pickle Designs. The colors came from Dawn McVey. I could have made all sorts of cards/scrapbook pages all day today but I wasn’t motivated. Instead I just lounged around with the girls.

As for the bread… Check this baby out:

Bread

I am doing really good with my 2010 goal to make more food from scratch. The above wheat bread is really delicious. I got this one from AllRecipes and the 500+ people who gave this five stars were right!! M and hubby loves it. It is a tad bit sweeter than the store bread but I think you can easily adjust by removing the 2nd cup of sugar. I did follow one of the tip; I divided the dough up into two instead of three to make it more sandwich size. Another tip said to put the dough in the dryer to speed up the growth and so I did – it’s not like I have a lot of warm places options to let my dough sit and rise anyways. I didn’t have any laundry to dry and so I just turned it on for a few minutes before I placed the dough in there. Did it help? I dunno but it grew well. Lovely bread and next time I’m going to try adding sunflower and more wheat and reduce the regular flour.

Bread Rising

I hope you had a great weekend. My spring class starts up tomorrow and I have a full class so I’ll be sporadic with the crafting as I get more papers to grade. So until next time!!!

Whatcha Doin’ for New Year?

The hubby is trying to get me to go out but I’m not sure. We have the MIL and SIL but Jovie gets extra anxious at night and a lot of times even hubby couldn’t get her to calm down. So I’m not sure. He REALLY wants to go out though, especially since we’ll be apart for a little bit during our move. Even if I do go out I’m not sure if I’ll have a good time. M was less anxious when she was this age. Yes she’d be upset but she’ll eventually calm down. Jovie is stubborn and she can go on and on and on. My MIL loves holding Jovie when Jovie lets her but she also gets flustered when Jovie screams her head off. Decisions decisions!

Here’s a little card that I did based on Laura’s sketch #42. I used Dani Mogstad’s kit again: All You Need is Love.

Bundle of Joy

Well, I’m going to go to the city to do some shopping. I’m wanting to hit the outlet malls!

Hi Baby!

Hi Baby

No I’m not at the hospital posting AND having a baby. Baby’s kicking the crap out of me now but no, she’s still cozy inside. I’m 33 weeks tho… oh counting down!!! In the meantime, my friends are having babies. WOW, you can’t believe how many friends I have that are having babies between March and July! I can’t keep up who’s having a boy and a girl either so until I get the announcements I don’t usually send the card {:SMILES}.

This is an almost exclusive hybrid card (kit from Matahati Design, currently April guest at the DigiChick, called Spring Medley). This kit has AWESOME papers!!! Actually Matahati has great papers in general for paper crafting. You can see her store at Scrap Orchard. Now, can I love my own work or is that just too snobbish? But I think this is the cutest card I’ve ever made. I just love the Damask and color on the pattern paper! The none hybrid items are the PTI BABY stamp, ribbon, button, twine, and cardstock. I did some Scor-It-ing on the brown paper too, see? Amy‘s been scoring like crazy so I thought I’d join the fun he he…

While I was kit browsing, I saw this lovely:

Cre-Bisontine

I just downloaded a few this week so got to wait and I need to find some pics or take some that will fit the kit but oooh, isn’t that just so so lovely?

Have a great Friday! More later!!!
