Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea

Just another quick post and another project that I did with a sleeping Jovie in between my legs on the bed. She sleeps longer touching me so until she’s two or three months old, this will do. Yes, I’m wearing her… including her poo, pee, and puke. She’s all over me {::SMILES}. Later I’ll wean her off me, just like we did with M.

Update: I forgot to add… after I was done and Jovie was awake I had to gently give her a little shake to remove all the little bits of paper from the distressing off her he he…

I used Dawn’s colors (berry, melon, chocolate, and cream) and I think a version of the 2Sketches4You sketch for the top 10 card show down – judges can play, right {::SMILES}. The owl is from G Studio and the sentiment is A Muse.

Ok, got to go… Jovie’s crying… laters!

Sorry Well, this is how this card came about… I saw Angie’s card, and then I went to SCS and scoured through Julie Ebersole’s (AWESOME) gallery, and then I remembered my comment (and her card) on Amy’s post and here it is. A card, CASE’d from one of Julie’s card using one of my Unity Stamp Co. stamp (that I FINALLY used). If you don’t know Julie, REALLY?!?!?! She’s awesome and EVERYBODY who stamps should know her. Check her out!!! She’s popped into my blog a couple of times and each time I feel giddy… kind of like seeing your favorite star {::SMILES}.

Anyhow, I don’t CASE much so I hope I got it right. I changed the birdie with uhm… I think a leopard or something. I think it’s cute and that’s all that matters to me. I am selfish when it comes to what goes on my card… as long as I like it then it stays, ha!

I did better at work today. I was awake most of the time and did a lot of stuff. I have a 2D ultrasound appt. scheduled too for this Saturday at 1:30 p.m. (got lucky with the schedule… just called today) WOW! We’re going to take a peak to find out if it’s a boy or a girl. BUT, we’re not going to have the tech/nurse tell us then. We want her to put it in an envelope. We plan on going to a nice dinner and finding out then. It seems more personal, don’t you think? M is uberly excited. She CANNOT wait she said. We’re excited too. We were going to make it a surprise but the husband can’t wait and with the economy the way it is, it seems wise if we plan early — while we both have jobs if you know what I mean. Scary scary out there!!!

Thank You

Thank You Don’t like this color challenge. It was HARD!!! But, no wonder it was hard, I didn’t know these colors existed, ha! Some of my stamp pads were still wrapped up and I’ve had the set for 3-4 years now.

So here’s what I came up with. I used my A*Muse stamps, KI pattern paper, my border CB template (dots), Martha’s ribbons again, and a button. Oh, I poked some holes too and made scallops {::SMILES}. The PP was glued on the paper and the plum paper was adhered using dimensionals. One more thing… the birdie has glitters all around it. I used an American Craft glitter pen for it. I’ve had it for awhile, glad to have finally used it.

Oh, the Kristina colors for this week: pale plum, perfect plum, sage shadow, celery, and bordering blue.

Alrighty, me tired. Going to bed!! Laters!

Circle Card

Baby Circle Card Tired of rectangles and squares? How about a circle one?

This is what I did in my first card class at my local scrapbook store. You can’t see it too well but I used dimensionals on the orange and the blue dotted paper. Oh, plus the peapod too. Isn’t that stamp adorable? I got it at Archivers two years ago. The sentiment is A Muse. This was before I knew who A Muse is! To color it, I used Copic and SU markers. I only have a dozen Copic and so blending and shading is out of the question. I can’t do it well anyways so I think it might just be a waste of $$ if I get some for that purpose.

The card class’s theme was not another rectangle/square card and using dimensionals to jazz up a card. We did though do one rectangle card, I figured two none traditional card is enough, teehee…

I showed the class how the card would look without dimensionals and how it would look with. Just not the same. Dimensionals is an inexpensive way to give your card some body. If you haven’t tried it, do. You can find them ranging from $1 to $3.99. I get mine from SU, Making Memories, and some brand at Hobby Lobby. They’re different height SU being the shortest. I love them all since I use different height for different needs. If you find some on sale, you better hoard it up, in my house, they’re used up quick!!

Notice no ribbon? Eeek… but it looked ok I think. Have a great Sunday!!

Two Cards One Design

Posted on | June 19, 2008 | 5 Comments

Coffee Card I got two cards put together. Yeah!!! This first one I did Tuesday night and the other one, the blue cardstock base, I did last night. They’re super quick cards because I was only in my craft room for a few minutes. I smuggled myself in there {::SMILES}.

As you can see they’re super simple. The material for this tan card is:

Paper: SU Kraft paper
Ribbon: Offrey grossgrain
Ink: Chocolate chip
Stamp: A*Muse Clear stamp and SU Dots

I created this card for my blog sisters’ swap BUT, I fail to remember the theme: SUMMER. So… no can do. This looks awefully, fall, don’t you think? One thing about this stamp set… I LOVE A*Muse’s clear sets. They stamp SOOOO well!! They’re not like some clear stamps where it just doesn’t stamp clean, which I hate. I want to buy more!

Due to my lack of attention to details, I have to think of another card design for my swap. Pressure, pressure! Due date’s the 20th!!

HelloThis second card I made just because although I might use it for another swap that I have here locally. Again, the theme is: SUMMER, and I think this is more summery than my first try. Yes?

The material:

Cardstock: SU Whisper White and Soft Sky
Ribbon: From Michael’s (on sale last week for $1!)
Stamps: SU’s Always, Dots, and PaperTrey
Ink: Regal Rose, Old Olive, and some blue one (ha, so bad me!)
Tools: Corner rounder for the scallops, piercing tool, and Stamp-a-Majig

These are just two items I want to share today. Two super simple cards that you can do under five minutes and with the right touch of ribbons they become more jazzy. Yes, I am a ribbon freak-o {::SMILES}.

I am quite behind. I have six swap cards to make and my scrapbook page for the Scrapperie contest. I haven’t even touched that last item. Ta-ta for now. More later!
