A Blog Friend Visit

Hiya! Wow, it’s been AGES since I posted it seems! But a lot has been going on the last 10 days and it’s FINALLY winding down. This afternoon I also found the opportunity to stamp and guess who I’ve been stamping with? Clouds Shadler!! The poor girl, I had to put her in the basement, on a bed with no frame, and sitting on whatever we could find cause ya know, most of our stuff’s in a crate somewhere. It’s been so fun visiting with her and to be able to stamp with a blog friend! I really need to do this more often!!! Anybody living in England out there? {::SMILE}.
The card I have to share today is based on Laura’s sketch at 2Sketches4You. Clouds brought some Lawn Fawn stamps and I got to play with this one set. You know I’m not that great at coloring but I think for this one I did a pretty good job. I saw how a card was done yesterday at a stamp store and copied that coloring method. M did a card too. She thought the stamps were so cute and she couldn’t resist.
Material: Pattern paper by October Aftrnoon, border punch is Stmpin’ Up!, ribbon and twine by Papertrey Ink, flower by Prima, and buttons are Rhonna Farrer.
Would You Still Love Me If…

You were my husband and I did the below for you?
I mentioned before that now and then I’d do something crazy just to get on my hubby’s nerves and often times he’d wonder: “What the hell was I thinking asking this girl to marry me?” When we met he was drunk and during those (special) moments he’d tell me that he’s been drunk ever since because he’s still crazy enough to be with me. Here’s a sample of me torturing the husband. I thought that without an audio sample the post wouldn’t be perfect… although I might regret this in the morning. Oh well… what’s life without a bit of fun, right?

I’ve got all sorts of collection, the above is my romantic mellow version (and not as loud, ha!). He hates them all. I’ve got crazy moves too – my Elaine dances (he hates them more) – but there’s no way I’d video tape myself. He’d asked why and I just laugh and keep going until he tackles me. In reality, when I want to and try, I’m not that bad. No pro but tolerable. But for him… he gets the one of a kind Savitri special ha ha ha…
Ok, more serious stuff… I did make a card. I did another one of Laura’s sketch at 2Sketches4You. I wanted to do Sarah’s last week but goodness, like I said, a lot went one last week and this past weekend. Next time, my friend!! I am also playing with Nicole Heady’s scrap challege at Papertrey Ink. I’ve got scraps I tell you!!
I used some more digital paper from Traci Reed at Sweet Shoppe, Qwirky Twerp digital paper, Gardenologi, from the DigiChick, PTI stamps on the butterflies, Making Memories tags, SU rub-ons and gold mist (probably too much).
Ok, I need to go to bed. I spent too much time trying to convert my audio to an mp3 file that won’t get all jacked up. I felt stupid after though because I could have done everything in 3 minutes using Audacity and Lame plugin (instead of Garageband and trying to figure out how to change the settings to be more web friendly). It’s actually quite embarrassing… I teach my students to use Audacity and exporting to mp3 using Lame and here’s me, messing around with something else. Ahhh….. Must be late! Good night!!!

I hope you’re having a wonderful day!! We are! Except for my craft room, which seems to get messier and messier, we got our house cleaned today. Yeah!! I did though manage to make this one card based on 2Sketches4You sketch for this week.
For the paper I used a digital kit by Quirky Twerp at the DigiChick: Gardenologie.
Really pretty kit and I’ll be using this in the near future for some digital pages. If you’re wondering, I printed the paper for the flower on regular printer paper. Because it’s not so thick it was easier to crunch up the flower. The tip of the flowers I Mod Podged and then covered with glitters. I let it sit for a bit and tapped the excess. The butterfly was a stamp by Hero Arts. I love acrylic stamps because you can see through them but there’s nothing better than good old red rubber stamps. They just stamp so well! The ribbon’s Martha Stewart and the sentiment is Crate Paper.
That’s it. I better get to cooking. I have friends coming over in a bit. I am making tortilla soup. I’ll be sharing more hybrid stuff in the next few. I got quite a bit of things printed out over the weekend. Laters!
A Bit Vintage

It snowed quite a bit here last night and according to my computer it is 1 degree Fahrenheit right now. Crazy huh? I think I’ve come to a conclusion that I like summer way better than winter. I use to think that winter’s better because you can always layer on more clothes if you’re cold where in the summer you only have so many to remove when you’re hot but that all changed this week. I am a warm temperature kind of girl and I cannot wait until spring!!!
Today I stayed home. I worked a bit but got unmotivated and distracted because everybody was also home. So after lunch I made marshmallows and this card. This is another card for Winter’s St. Jude card drive. The little center is a vintage piece that I found at an antique store in Parkville, MO (lovely and quaint little town north of Kansas City) Halloween 2007 (don’t ask me why I remember silly things like this). I have a little ziplock bag full of these things. They’re old V-day trading cards – made in the U.S.A. I used Kazan’s sketch for this card and some Nov.’08 Scarlet Lime paper on PTI white cardstock. The ribbon’s vintage too. One of my yards of ribbon find at the local antique store. Also, if you’re curious, the piggy peaking is Jovie’s piggy bank. That thing is super cute all though a tad bit smaller than M. Should have gone with the giant size.
Well, I’m going to figure out how to get my marshmallows out of the pan. I think I should have read one of the comments. I think it’s mentioned there to put something on the pan before dumping the goop onto it. Crap! Oh well. It’s been two years since I made this thing.
Whatcha Doin’ for New Year?

The hubby is trying to get me to go out but I’m not sure. We have the MIL and SIL but Jovie gets extra anxious at night and a lot of times even hubby couldn’t get her to calm down. So I’m not sure. He REALLY wants to go out though, especially since we’ll be apart for a little bit during our move. Even if I do go out I’m not sure if I’ll have a good time. M was less anxious when she was this age. Yes she’d be upset but she’ll eventually calm down. Jovie is stubborn and she can go on and on and on. My MIL loves holding Jovie when Jovie lets her but she also gets flustered when Jovie screams her head off. Decisions decisions!
Here’s a little card that I did based on Laura’s sketch #42. I used Dani Mogstad’s kit again: All You Need is Love.
Well, I’m going to go to the city to do some shopping. I’m wanting to hit the outlet malls!
