Time Change

2 Nov 2008 In: Stampin Up

Birthday Celebration Did you change your clocks? I haven’t, the only thing that has changed is this on my computer. I am enjoying a lazy Sunday {::SMILES}.

What are your plans today? Nothing much here, just tidying up the house, more laundry, and if I get motivated, grocery shopping. I hate grocery shopping! If I can do this online and have it delivered I think I would, ha!

Waiting for hubby to come home. He went to a Halloween party. I was invited of course but as you saw in the picture from yesterday M and I weren’t quite motivated. Well, good thing I didn’t go because first it was an all adult party (we didn’t even look for a sitter) and second it was a costume party. Guess who would have shown up without a costume? Me! Why? Because hubby forgot to share that little detail. That boy has selective attention to details. When it comes to parties he’ll either forget the time (we showed up 2 hours late before), the address/directions, or the part where you have to wear a costume. So he’s out, as James Dean (lazy costume) with Jane. Yes, Jane (62 Impala) is alive. He got her working again yesterday. He’s uber happy of course.

Alright, the husband just drove in. More later!

Oh, card created using the Upsy Daisy stamp set and Luxe pattern paper.

I Have My Craft Room Back!!

1 Nov 2008 In: Stampin Up

So Sweet Goodbyes, at least my family goodbyes, are always bitter sweet. It was sad to see them go but at the same time it was nice. I think during goodbyes and a little bit after you realize why you move out after you reach adulthood {::SMILES}. M showed her sadness in a different way… she was a huge “B” at the airport. But, that’s how she shows her emotions at this time.

Last night was spent at Parkville, a quaint little town in Missouri just outside of Kansas City and eight miles from the airport. We stayed at the Porch Swing Inn because my parents have never experienced a B&B before and also we, or I to be more exact, have a thing for staying at B&B if possible. Very nice place, we had the Jesse James room and the Colonel room. M had her own little bed and she was soo soo happy. She told the owners that she wanted to stay there forever and ever and ever. HA! The B&B was only a few blocks from the old downtown and in a neighborhood so guess who got to experience “real” trick-or-treating? She was pouty at first (she got tired of waiting for us old folks shopping at the antique store before the event) but then got into the spirit after a few houses. At the end, she was sad that there were no more houses (well there would have been more if you turn the corner but we weren’t having that… candy bag full and our legs were tired).

TiredWe had a very nice night but despite the niceness, we had to wake up early, have breakfast and head out to the airport. Because of that, this was what M and I looked like after we got home and got some lunch.

It didn’t start this way. It was me on the left, Max (the pup in the picture) in the middle and M on the right facing the other way. Then Max got up and M turned and I was too tired to care and kept napping. Hubby came in and got this image.

Ok, that’s that. I’ll share more pics when I get a chance to scrapbook them. For now, the above card is what I did tonight, after my nap. I felt a bit rusty and mojoless. Hopefully it’ll come back to me. Have a great one and hope you all had a wonderful Halloween day and having a great weekend!!

Material:

SU cardstock, Scallop Edges stamps, Bazzill ribbon, Cosmo Cricket pattern paper.

Barak Obama McCain and Sarah Palin

31 Oct 2008 In: Stampin Up

muchappreciated.jpg Ok, I can’t wait until next week! No, this is not a political post but my daughter, the 4-yr-old, she said that if she ever have a brother or a sister (she’s been dreaming about this for the last two years now) she’s going to name him Barak Obama McCain or Sarah Palin. Uhm wow… mom and dad would have to say: no.

I think we need to quit watching and listening to the news and talking about politics at home. Poor Joe Biden though, I think we need to talk about him more because M said, “Who’s that?” Ha ha…

Happy Halloween everybody!! I have no Halloween post to share. Like I said, the only Halloween thing we do is dress M up and go trick-or-treating in the evening. I hope to get some good pictures this year though so that I can do a decent Halloween page. We’ll see.

My parents are leaving tomorrow. It’s been great but man I can’t wait. My schedule has been so crazy and unusual that I am looking forward to the old routine again AND my craft room he he he…

So here’s one last item from my stash that I haven’t shared with you. Good timing because after Saturday, I can hoard my craft room again and create, create, and create. I made a similar card but the window was on the opposite side, the scallops were done a bit differently and a different ribbon. The Window Dressing is a fun set but probably not one where I’ll use a lot of the stamps together often just because it takes too long to create. I am just not that type of stamper. My cards got to be quick and easy {::SMILES}.

Have a fun and safe night! I can’t wait to blog hop again!!

Self Checkout

29 Oct 2008 In: Scrapbook

Dog Love First of all, sorry for being such a bad blogger. I haven’t been blog hoppin’ much and my Google Reader is probably uber full. I’ve only posted here and there and that’s pretty much it. I have just been too occupied with my visiting family. So until after this weekend, I’ll be sporadic. I can’t wait to see what’s out there though. I tried doing a card last night and I felt so rusty.

Anyhow, this is another page that I did a few weeks back. I got this orange card stock at my lss and even though it was bright, I was determined to use it. So here it is, I combined it with some black and whites, light colors, and red and here’s what I came up with. I think everything came from one of my Scarlet Lime kit. The alphas came out of my Klic-n-Kut and so did that paw. The paw I did myself, my second creation after my tree. I used a lot of dimensionals, so this page is not super flat, just my kind of page! Oh, notice the sewing too? {::SMILES}.

The story… Shady is such a daddy’s girl. She’s so into him that she knows when he’s going to leave the house and she’ll either follow him around, won’t get off his lap, or be dangling somehow on him.

Another story… I took my parents to the city. They thought the KC Plaza was so nice… quite unique and the buildings were fancy. But, I think what got their attention the most was the self checkout at the grocery store. We went to Price Chopper because they wanted some fruits. I saw the self checkout and thought that they’d get a kick out of it. Sure enough they had to go twice ha ha. The last one was just for a bag of chips. My mom thought the voice was cute… I have to say the one at Price Chopper sounds better than the other ones I’ve heard. So that was the highlight of yesterday…. the self checkout.

Ok, ta ta for now. Hope to share more soon!!

Another Week…

27 Oct 2008 In: Stampin Up

Merry and Bright And another Christmas card. This is a super simple one and didn’t take long to create. Just stamped, stamped, stamped, one trimming and then glue glue and voila. You might have to click on the image to get a better view but I did scor on the top and bottom of the Kiwi paper. There are also dimensionals on one of the tree and also the white card stock where all the trees are stamped. Really love the new in colors!!

Over the weekend, we went to the homecoming parade and then we went to Branson, MO. We didn’t go to any shows, we just went shopping to the outlet malls. My parents have been pumping up the economy. Which at the same time is so odd since a lot of the clothes are made in Indonesia and when I’m there I’d shop at the outlet and buy American Eagle stuff for $2 for example but there are my parents here, hoarding Levi’s and more. They say the ones that made it to the U.S. are better quality and the same ones in Indonesia are three times as much. Ok, whatever {::SMILES}. It’s interesting too to see how they are so into brands. Just the itty bitty Levi’s tag won’t do, you got to have it showing, the bigger the better. I showed my mom this cute top and she said no, the brand name isn’t known in Indonesia. Wow.

Then we stopped at Lambert’s, which we thought was a must stop for them. How many restaurants throws their food around, right? Also, it’ll give them a taste of some mid-west home cooking… and all you can eat. My parents cannot get over that. How much food were going around and served and how much people eat.

So that was our weekend. More adventures tomorrow, Tuesday, when I take my parents into Kansas City. Maybe we’ll stop at the Kansas City store and buy something with a HUGE KC on the chest, ha ha!
