Just got back from a crop at the lss and just didn’t feel it. I got two things put together but the first is missing something and the second, even after a few layers, is missing something else. Ahhh… I’ll stare at it a few days or maybe tomorrow I might catch something. Besides that, I had a good time. M was very good too.
Starting next weekend, maybe, I’ll be working on a few stuff for the lss. Cards, altered, and pages. Just simple designs with their products. It’ll be fun. No minimum, no maximum, just whatever I can do. I did help out with some challenges today. The store has an EK Success shape template and the challenge was to create layout using that tool. It was impromptu. I think the ladies had a good time. There were only six of us, hopefully there will be more next time.
Well, not sharing what I did today… they’re just not finished. So I’ll share what I created for The DigiChick.
I used Scarlet Heels Media Spring Tide paper. Isn’t the bird and the flower cute? I don’t have a 12×12 printer, so I just printed it out on an 8.5×11 paper. I was going for the minimalist look but I think I need some chipboard alphas… now that I’m looking at it. I used a distressing tool on the card stock. Not sure if you can see it.
I did some sewing again. I am feeling more confident with my straight sewing lines. So pathetic. My mom is a sewing guru and here’s me.
Then I used Mira Design’s Date Labels and glued it on top of Total Mom’s Sense label. The stamp, number and circle, is from Studio Calico. It was in their May kit, the little birdie is Hambly Screen Prints, and the sticker is Me & My Big Ideas. Oh, card stock is Bazzill.
I dunno, I kind of like it the way it is. It looks better than in the picture. What do you think? Add on or keep it as is?

The first one, the red dots background (I did myself by the way {::SMILE}) is actually M’s. Well, she claimed it. I felt bad, I always make cards for others but hardly for her and so I said sure as long as she takes good care of it. She said she will. So she has it now. The stamp is one of the new Bella stamps that I got earlier this month. I just haven’t had the occasion to use it. The dots and the sentiment is from PaperTrey and the rest is Stampin’ Up! I think I kind of combined a few challenges from last week on this. I used black to highlight my red cardstock and made my own BG paper.
If you haven’t done any challenges, you should. It always gets me motivated and help think outside the box and try something new.
The second card I did with a new Digi Chick kit: Total “Mom” - Sense Collaboration Kit. Awesome kit for digi AND hybrid. I’m not kidding you. Even if I’m not a CT for TDC, I’d be bragging about this kit. I’ve only used a tiny portion of this huge kit and I can do A LOT of cool pages and cards not mentioning digital project with this one kit. Mother’s day is coming around the corner!!
I wish my hubby makes cards. He’s only made me one card all the times we’ve been together. I’ll have to show you that sometimes. Kind of cute in a manly way, ha ha! It was sweet and I always look at it. It is after all, the ONLY card hand crafted by him.

It was an odd day yesterday. I had a headache, which went away after a nap and some pills, but my throat just hurt. My sore throat happened Tuesday night. I feel fine now, just still hacking a bit. I wonder if it’s because people’s been (including the husband) burning around our house. We burnt off our field and the neighbors did the same. Not sure if it’s a country thing or it’s just something everybody wanted to do the last few days. I am sensitive to smoke. I can’t be in a smoking section at a restaurant, pass by people who are smoking, or enjoy a bar/club. I wasn’t always like this, more so after I had M. I’m glad they passed the no smoking in Kansas City. Maybe it’ll spread to our little college town. Hmmm…
Digi Blog Candy Because…

I Am a DigiChick Hybrid CT. Yeah!!! I am so excited to be one of The Digi Chick’s Hybrid CT. This is my first permanent position at a big digi store. What will I do? Create hybrid, a combo of digital and traditional, craft — so either card, scrapbook page, or altered. What will I use? New and fun products from the designers at TDC. WOWSER!!! I’ll also be working with other very talented ladies, some are also CTs at other big stores, e.g. Prima Hybrid (yes, the company that sells those cute flowers). So yes, I didn’t make it to Scrap Artist or A Million Memories but I kept trying (Yes, want to be in a CT? While having fun creating keep trying and submit, submit, submit!) and now I’m a CT at TDC doing what I love most — paper and digi. I plan on using all sorts of media, stamps and ink included, into my work.
