Early Childhood Education

First of all I’m no early child hood education expert. While my educational background was in child psychology and education I was never trained or have ever worked with little children. But, after having two of my own I must have done something right because I’ve had a few moms ask me for advice on how to help their little ones learn. I owe a few people some long emails about this and since I’ve been an email slacker lately I am just going to post here. Since I am an educator at heart I hope that this little post

$1 Wed + Craft Room Pt. 1

I have a couple things I want to share today. The first is the above layout which was created using Echo Park’s digital kits sold at Jessica Sprague’s website today for $1! There are other kits for sale too, like Cosmo Cricket, Carina Gardner and Kitschy Designs. Jessica also has a new FREE class starting Nov. 29th so while you’re on the website do check that out!! The second is… my still in the making craft room re-organization. Let me share what I’ve got before I ruin my room because who knows when I’ll make it to IKEA again to

Tip: Stickies Off

Very glad we’re not in Missouri because if we were I’d be sleeping outside. Hubby would have kicked me out because I’d keep asking: “Is it tornadic? Is it tornadic? Is it tornadic?” each time I hear the wind blow while he’s fast asleep. He’d be extra annoyed if it’s on a weekday because he has to be up by 5:30 a.m. while I won’t come to bed until 11p/midnight. It’s been very windy in our part of the world and I am not freaking out! Due to the wind, our area’s been like the card above, created using Clear

Some Favorite Things

First most recent favorite thing: Potato and leek soup. I found it on AllRecipes and of course I had to tweak it just a bit: 2 good size garlic cloves chopped 2 shallots sliced 1 tsp white pepper I also didn’t have any American bacon (pork belly and more fatty) so I used 250g (about half a pound) British bacon (from the back cut of pork which is less fatty) and I added a tbs of butter. But if you use American bacon I’d not use the extra butter. In terms of cooking. I let the potato boil with the

My Favorite Apps

I have some projects I’m working on but they’re still cookin’. Today I want to share some of my favorite apps with you, my favorite Android AND WordPress blog apps/plug-ins. Even though I now don’t get paid to play with web/media technologies I still like to keep up with them because I’m just a geek and also in hopes that one day I’ll get hired again to play with technology {::SMILES}. I’ll probably rattle off some others that I think are nice too, just cause I’m a geek, ha! WordPress. Oh I so love thee. Granted there are a couple

My Must Haves

Dawn at WPlus9 wanted us girls to share what our must have tools are for papercrafting to create our “signature” style. Well, the tools weren’t hard to figure out but the signature style… hmm… a bit harder. After browsing through my own stuff I see mostly clean. My clean can do different directions. It can be simple or a bit cluttery and at odd times vintage but I think most of them has a clean feel to them. My scrapbook is a bit more fluid I think but again, if I have to pick one, they’re still all clean designs.
