Tut+Freebie: Recoloring in Word 2007
Posted on | October 21, 2009 | 4 Comments
Ok peeps, I’ve been on Splitcoast this week and it seems like people are getting more and more into digital stamps (I don’t get on SCS much cause when I do I tend to shop more… the Tools and Products section ALWAYS gets me). This is great, more options for you AND quicker access! If you’ve been visiting my blog you probably know I have a video on how to print a digital stamp/image in Word. A few posts ago I posted my handwriting with a Word (.doc) file in case you want to just quickly print the file out for your card.
Today I am adding this to my video file. How to recolor a digital image/stamp (or clip-art) in Word. Quite easy and even though the options are a bit limiting if you’re creative (and I know you all are) you can get something close to what you want.
In case you want a copy of “yeah” the file is below. Just right click and save as the .png file. You should be able to open it in Word or any other graphic imaging software. Have fun and if you do use my handwriting, please let me know so that I can see your creation (via linking to your post orphoto gallery or emailing me a sample). I’m new to sharing my stuff and would just be tickled pink if somebody actually uses it {::SMILES}.
Have a great one and again I hope you find my tutorial useful!
Tut: Printing Digital Images in Word

Note: For a better view, you might want to watch it directly on YouTube. It’s just bigger than my blog screen.
You don’t need to have Photoshop or any fancy graphic editor to try hybrid card making/scrapbooking. Word is good enough. Here’s a little tut to help you get started. Oh, I print with a regular Canon (I got it free with my Mac) color printer and on regular card stock. I usually use the card stock from Office Depot/WalMart. They’re 110lbs paper but they fit my printer better than the SU/PaperTrey ones (the PTI paper’s a bit thicker than SU’s). I’ve printed on laser printer too. More vibrant but besides that, any color printer will do. For images where I color (like clip-arts), I just use my regular laser (old) b&w printer. Enjoy!!
If you want some free image editors though, you can try out:

Tut: Scor-It + Bunny Ears Ribbon Tieing

Here’s this week’s project for 2S4Y based on Laura’s sketch #23. This week’s sponsor is Scor-It! Love my It!!! To see how I created the above, check out the video below.
NOTE: There’s no music in this tut. Been fighting with my video editor and got tired. One day I’ll add music to it but not today. Also, I blame it on preggo brain, I have no idea what I was saying in the video… when I did talk… I think I called this thing a card or a box or something… just ignore me and watch the video only {::SMILES}.
Enjoy!!!
It’s Monday and I’m sleepy! It’s not a great way to start the week, huh? Laters!!

The video that I said I’d make. Hope you find it useful!
EDIT: I added a template… in case you’re not too comfortable winging it or freehanding it:
Just like the page says, Love Everyday. Even if the little turd can’t seem to leave me a lone and be quiet for one itty bitty bit during her waking hours I love her to pieces. Does/did your 4-yr-old talk A LOT? I guess this is what we get for teaching her how to communicate early. Emma was “talking” since she was 6-mo-old. I taught her American Sign Language. She knew 30 some words before her 1st b-day (I think she knew about 90 before she quit… I couldn’t keep up, it was a lot). She never cried because we couldn’t figure out what she wanted. She could speak decently at 14-mo but I made her sign still because “nana” did not sound like banana to me. So she’s sign and say the words to me.
Emma’s first long sentence was before Christmas 2006. Back then we had two car seats. She loves the one in my car but the one in dad’s was old and well, not too attractive. So this was what she said, “For Christmas I want to ask Santa for a new car seat because I have the ugliest car seat that I have ever seen in my whole entire life.” The last part of the sentence got us laughing so loud. We both cried and of course Emma had no clue why; she was serious!
She didn’t get a new seat for Christmas. We waited and got her one before our trip last year. We now have a Safe Traffic System for dad’s truck. We all love it, especially when we traveled last year. We popped this thing in our carry-on. Glad we did because if not, we wouldn’t have had a car seat between airports (flight delayed) and carrying + installing a car seat as you all know, sucks!
Okie dokie… we had a great weekend together but I have to admit, I am looking forward to some nice quiet time at work, ha! See ya!
Tut: Tie a Ribbon and My First Card Class
Posted on | July 23, 2008 | 6 Comments
This card isn’t one we made. This was just a hybrid card that I did using Jovia Devoe’s kit. Put it together in Photoshop and print on white card stock. The Hi there is PTI’s.
My card class: I made it and it was really fun too. Unfortunately, I haven’t uploaded my pics yet, so that to come! Six people came to the class, three each – morning and afternoon. Coincidently I had a morning dr. appt. so before I went to it, I stopped at the lss to drop off the packets and hang around for a little bit. I met the three morning regulars. Two were senior citizens and they were the cutest thing. One loves to be online searching for card images on the Net. She hasn’t discovered SplitCoast yet! So I gave her the addy and uhm… her girl friends might have a harder time getting a hold of her (phone busy, dial-up) because she might just be on the online more now, ha! In the afternoon, I had a guest from work, a lady friend who’s been to my SU’s workshop, and a sweet little exchange student from France that my lady friend brought in with her.
They all said they had a great time and I’m so glad. I hope they come again the next time I have a class. Next week, is a scrapbooking class. It’ll just be basic scrapbooking and we’re going to try to use paint besides other techniques. I think that’s what the ladies liked the most yesterday, playing with new toys and trying out a new technique. Speaking of… I guess ribbon tying is not a simple thing to do. My lady friend, who’s seen enough YouTube videos on the topic, was good. She had it down pat, but for the others, it was still work. So, despite the already many how to tie a ribbon videos… I made one on how I do it at home:
–> You can watch it in high quality here <–
I am a tight wad… thus the title. Well the point is… no ribbons left unused, ha!! The ribbons are old… I found them at an antique store in town. Super cheap for 10-20 yards. I think $2-$3. You never know what you find at those stores. I found some vintage items too for my scrapbook!!
