Christmas Day 2

Shining Star

Have you ever missed a school event because you didn’t know about it? I almost did! If my friend didn’t message me asking for me to take notes, I wouldn’t have known and gone! Bad mommy!!

The message came while I was creating a few quick Christmas cards. I was aiming for “quick” so that I can get the amount of cards that I need by mid-November. Mail from the US has been a smidge slower lately and I want to make sure that my cards will get to their destination on time. Speaking of mail, postage has gone up significantly too and with just one income, we need to try and save a bit here and there. So with that in mind, all my “to mail” cards will be one layer this year.

One layer doesn’t have to be dull though. Colours and dies can make one layer cards super fun!

Today’s card was created using WPlus9’s newest and greatest stamps and die: Iconic Christmas and Star die cut. There are A LOT of fabulous stamps in the Iconic set but here I just want to give you a sneak of a few.

LOVE the star dies!!!

Then here’s something quick for the local folks. A little ribbon can give a simple card the dimension and texture it needs!

For the above card I used more of the pieces from the Iconic set. Adorable, huh?

Do check the other DT’s previews! I guarantee they will be time well spent!

Eek! I *love* your star card! The checkerboard background is one of my favorite images from that set, and I love the way you’ve used it here – such inspiration!!

These are awesome Savitri! That star card is perfection! And the softness of the gingham ribbon on the second really balances the clean lines of the images well. Fantastic!
