Birthday card

I remember my post from 3 years ago. I little introduction to one precious baby girl. She’s been such a wonderful addition to our family. She makes us laugh, she amazes us each day with her cleverness, she tests our patience, she has probably gotten more time outs than Emma but we couldn’t have asked for a better daughter and sister. She’s such a little character and we just love her to pieces.

She woke up to a very good morning. She knew it was special because we all wished her happy birthday. She knew the day was super special because we all gave her extra cuddles and let her watch Ben and Holly soon after she was done with breakfast. Since it’s the Queen’s Jubilee weekend we went on a little outing while hubby stayed home baking a cake. What she didn’t know was that when we return, there will be a small birthday party. It’s small because it’s the Jubilee weekend (a long four day weekend) and a school holiday (a week off). Because of the combo, a lot of her little friends were either out of town or busy with family events.

Things weren’t quite ready when we came home and I offered more Ben and Holly. She couldn’t say no to that and so while she watched more TV (and I promise you this isn’t normal in our household), M and I did a bit of decorating while hubby finished up with the cake.

After all’s done, M and I did this:

Home

and hubby did this:

Peppa Pig Cake

Isn’t that one fine Peppa Pig cake? I am still amazed that my husband baked (from scratch) and decorated (from scratch) the cake in our (crappy) oven. The cake came out pretty good (which is amazing if you ever see our oven) and the decorating made Jovie extremely happy.

Cake

After cake blowing and presents opening we got to cake eating and Jovie requested the eyes.

She didn’t eat much of the cake. Not sure why since hubby made sure he found the sweetest cake recipe due to Jovie’s sweet tooth but she ate a few bites and was all done.

Maybe it was the new toys that distracted her. Who knows but all she wanted to do after the party was play with her new tea set and dress up the dollies while waving her magic Holly wand.

Jovie and her toys

Happy happy birthday baby girl. We love you so so much!!

Card was created using WPlus9‘s new sets: Fresh Picked, Fresh Preserves, and matching dies. Old sets were used to make the card more fun: Tag die, Background Builders Knit, and So 80′s.

Jovie was very happy about getting a card. She loves strawberries which is probably why she loved the card {::SMILES}.
