Happy Mother's Day

Yesterday I had a lovely little mother’s day lunch at M’s school. This was the first time I’ve eaten at M’s school and I have to say it wasn’t bad. I was told that the school cooks the children’s meals everyday and the food wasn’t bad. Actually quite nicer than the lunch I had with M in Missouri. So nice that I can’t get my kid to bring cold lunches anymore.

If you’re in the US, don’t freak out. You have a month still! In the US, mother’s day is celebrated in May. In the UK, it’s this Sunday.

To celebrate the occasion, I thought it’d be appropriate if for today’s WPlus9′s launch I create a mother’s day card. This card is no ordinary card because I did a bit of mix media work. On a cardboard and using Mod Podge I adhered sewing patterns, handmade paper, pattern paper and lace. With ink I did some stamping and with acrylic I did some painting. The main stamps I used are the two April release stamps: A Special Lady and Filigreed Frames + die. I have fun creating this and I hope to the recipient it will show.

Here’s a little side view…

Happy Mother's Day

Like the flower? My mom made it!! I told you she’s the crafty one, right? Unlike me, she can whip things like this up really quickly. Then if you look below the flower you’ll see some text. I stamped some sentiment and some background stamping there just for a bit of visual. I used Magical Moment for this part.

Happy Mother's Day

I did a bit of stamping on the background paper too… more Magical Moments.

That’s all folks! I will have more post later today!!

    Vit! I *HEART* your background! Omgosh that’s yum! Such a pretty card… a bit rustic with such pretty, girly elements peeking out here and there… SO me! Hehe! Oh… I totally did a double take when I first saw you tweet about Mother’s Day. So thanks for the [funny] clarification! :)

    Wait. No, STOP! You CAN’T post ANOTHER thing! Seriously. Just stop right here. THIS CARD (drool*drool*drool….) must NOT be eclipsed by ANOTHER Savitri project! {NO matter HOW cool it’s going to be!} Just STOP the presses, because I’m BLOWN away! THIS is THE most amazing, crafty, juicy and DELICIOUS piece of crafty-craftiness, I’m simply OUT of adjectives. BUT I LOVE IT! Okay! Just so’s y’know! THIS is a masterpiece! Your magnum opus. Just stop now.

    I have to catch my breath!

    {I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE your crafty show, my dear! – MeOWWWW!}
