Day 4: Spring Post and Postmarked

Love Always

It’s the end of January! I’m not so sure I like it. This month went by too fast for me!!

Today’s the last day of WPlus9′s preview. Tomorrow you all can buy any of the sets we’ve shown so far. After yesterday’s burst of colors I thought I’d mellow it down a bit today. What I have here is a card created using two stamp sets with details as follow:

Spring Post

  • is a 6×8 clear photopolymer stamp set
  • contains 26 stamps; 3 postage stamp images 15 sentiment builders, and 8 individual letters
  • will be available for purchase February 1st for just $19

Postmarked

  • is a 4×6 clear photopolymer stamp set
  • contains 23 stamps; 1 postmarked image, 12 month circles, and 10 individual numbers
  • will be available for purchase February 1st for just $10

Spring post is a wonderful versatile set. You can use pieces of it for background stamping or as a single piece, like what I have above. The postmarked set can be used for dating scrapbook pages or cards.

Love Always

Lots of way to use this and you can see more examples from the other DT:

Day 3: Spring Post & Postmarked

Happy Birthday

Hi again! Hope you’re having a fabulous weekend!

Yesterday M went to her guitar lesson. Third one. And after the session her teacher told me that he couldn’t believe she just started. She’s got five or six cords memorized and can move around decently well and fairly quickly. She’s no Mozart on the guitar but I’m just so proud of her for working at it with me. She was so frustrated after her first lesson and we talked. Yesterday when were walking home I pointed out how she’s having more fun, how easier to follow her teacher too, at guitar lesson because of practice. She agreed and wants to practice some more. I’ve been motivating her to practice math and reading too and everyday for about an hour she’d be happily studying with me. Anybody homeschool? I want to get supplements and I figure the home schooling kits might be good. Suggestions?

Anyhow, I have another sneak peak from WPlus9 and this time it’s from another set: Spring Post and Postmark. I love this set because I can see a lot of use from the Postmarked set. I always date my scrapbook pages so this set will be great for that.

Happy Birthday

The card is bright. LOVE it! I printed all the paper, Back to Basic Paper Pack by Creativity by Crystal @JessicaSprague, on this card on one 8.5×11 cardstock paper. Another reason why I love this card is because I used the color purple. I don’t like purple and so being able to use it willingly and actually thinking the card ain’t bad is quite an accomplishment!

I did a few different stitching on the card. Just something to add and also to give it a little splash of darkness.

Happy Birthday

That’s that. Have a great rest of your weekend!

Eggs

Birthday

It’s really not your RSS reader that’s busted. It’s me. This is my second post of the day. I know, scary, huh?!

When I went grocery shopping the other day I bought some eggs. In Indonesia eggs are sold in supermarkets, traditional markets or a little shop tucked away in an alley. I don’t remember how they are in the supermarkets but in the traditional/small shops the eggs are usually on a crate/box with hay around it… sometimes egga cartons. They’re not refrigerated. I always thought it’s normal until I came to the US and eggs are kept in the cold section.

Here in the UK eggs are not kept in the cold section. At the farm shop they’re just stacked neatly on top of each other or on cartons and at the grocery I shop at the eggs are right next to the bread. I’ve been to many brand of grocery stores now and they’re all the same, eggs are  just sold on one of the middle aisles. At home I sometimes just leave them on the counter and they’re just fine.

Anybody know of why this difference?

Today I have another card. This time the stamps are from Waltzingmouse and the design idea also came from them, sketch #32. I did some misting and masking. You can’t really see it but there are tiny butterflies on the white cardstock. The center piece under the flower was an envelope that used to hold some gorgeous buttons. It was plain but after ink got on it the simple thing made the perfect subtle background piece.

To give the ribbon a finished look I added a button with twine.

Alrighty, that’s that. I’ll have more tomorrow!

Day 2: Flora & Fauna

Flora & Fauna

Saturday! Sleeping in is what I am hoping for today! Then I have some birthday shopping to do besides guitar. I think I am going to try baking cupcakes too. I haven’t decided if I’m going to buy or make M’s cupcakes for her party next weekend. Man, my baby’s turning 7!!!!  She’s growing up WAAAAAAAAAY too fast!

Today is day 2 of Wplus9′s February release and this set is definitely my favorite set. Highly highly recommend this because not only is it versatile it is gorgeous and look, I could easily color it!! You all know I’m coloring challenged.

I was going to add a few butterflies but decided against it. The flowers are just pretty as is and it pairs up well with a sentiment that came from the Ever After set.

Flora & Fauna

I’ll make this short but before I go I do recommend visiting Dawn’s blog for a great giveaway and then check out everybody’s creation with this set!

Day 1: Flora & Fauna

Posted on | January 28, 2011 | 10 Comments

After  a couple of months break WPlus9 is back with more great goodness. Actually WPlus9 will be full of great goodness this 2011! Trust me on this one!!!

Today’s page is brought to you by more Scarlet Lime January Frugal Fab kit AND a very beautiful stamp set called Flora and Fauna by Wplus9. Dawn, the owner, created this and ahhh… my new favorite!! The pictures are of Jovie signing: Please, thank you and sorry. I love our morning routine. After we drop M off we’d sit and watch TV. I know, TELEVISION! But, it’s all good. From watching Signing Time Jovie is not only learning lots of words she also knows a few primary colors and the ABC. She’s already recognizing letters! She’ll for sure sign the letters but she’ll also try to say them. She’s better at speaking although still just a few notch above babbling still. This was what I didn’t get to do with M much and so glad I’ve got this rotten brat to do toddler educational things with everyday.

The stamp set… let me share some details! Flora & Fauna is:

  • a 6×8 clear photopolymer stamp set
  • contains 7 stamps; 4 large focal images and 3 accent images
  • will be available for purchase February 1st for just $19

The stamps stamp so so well. Today I want to do some coloring on these babies. Not sure how they’ll turn out but I want to try. BUT, don’t they look just grand the way they are?

I did some paper tearing too. After I tore and used my fingers to curl the edges up a bit I ran a distresser around the paper and inked it up. Under the tear I adhere another piece of patter paper. Gives the page a pop of color.

I created a flight trail using rhinestones. I need to use my rhinestone picker upper gadget but I’m usually too lazy to grab it.

Isn’t the set gorgeous?

Do see what the others did with this set. It’s so so gorgeous I can’t wait to show you more with it tomorrow!!
