Market Saturday

Posted on | July 17, 2010 | 15 Comments |

I look forward to Saturdays. Saturdays is market day and today we went to the Bury St. Edmunds market. I think this is my favorite market. It’s bigger than the other one we’ve been going to, Ely, and if you’re there in the later part of the afternoon some of the stalls sound like auction sites. The men would be screaming out bargains. Two for two they’d say or whatever’s in the bucket is a pound.

These are our loot from today:

Market Buy

I think this was about £12 of goodies. The bread there is DELICIOUS!! It’s almost 10 p.m. here and there’s only 4″ of it left! We did forget a few things… or I didn’t think we were out of: onions, carrots, and tomatoes. Oh well… I always forget something, nothing new here.

I did get a chance to make a card too while Jovie was napping. She’s been a pill all day today! Who knows what’s wrong… probably from the immunization but she is unbearable almost to be around.

thank you card

I used Taylored Expression’s sketch for this. It’s the first time participating there. I’ve always wanted to try, esp. each time I see Sankari’s work but just always miss it. So here it is. I used Mehndi Medallion and some digi-paper: Danielle Engebretson A Grand New Day and Quirky Twerp Bona Fide paper.

Just something simple for a busy Saturday. Have a good one!!

Materials:

Cardstock: SU and orange is Clear and Simple Stamps
Digital Paper: the DigiChick by Danielle and Quirky Twerp
Accessories: Ribbon by Offrey, button from PTI, Nesties, and Cuttlebug Template

ooh, very nice goodies! I should’ve gone to the Boulder Farmer’s Market but it’s so damn hot out today (and they say there’s no such thing as global climate change..) and it’s almost unbearable to be outside! And I would gravitate towards to bread too, hehe. cute card, luv the Mehndi stamps (should;ve gotten that from my 2 free sets i got to choose from my win at Embellish, but I went to Luv birds and background design, can’t wait to use them!!!) and the ribbon too!

    Hugs

For me Sunday is a market day! I used to go before, but since little boy came my husband goes. Oh, I so miss the market. But, there is one benefit of him going, I can call him if I have forget to put something in the list;-)lol

Card is awesome. I like how you played with different colors! That shows your ‘bold’ attitude! (as u have said ‘this is me’!)

LOVE your card Savitri! Gorgeous gorgeous combination of colors and textures and that medallion and borders are fantastic – the ribbon and sentiment – beautiful! What a beautiful pic of all the grocery items you got! mmmm – making me crave some cherries! Hope Jovie is feeling better – getting all those shots really can be so hard – NOT looking forward to catching up on the shots before the kids start school –sigh!

Hope you are doing great!!!! Sending you sunshine!!!
        hugs galore,
        Sankari :)
