Is Moving Ever Fun?

Moving things around sucks, going through junk sucks, deciding what to keep and not to keep sucks, comforting M sucks (three melt downs so far), imagining a few months with VERY minimal furniture sucks, the thought of leaving my job sucks (I love my job and plus, not working equals to house wife duties aka cleaning). Hmmm… what else? You done listening to me whine? Sucks, sucks, sucks. But, all the negativities does go away when I think about the journey ahead… all the adventure that we’ll be having whether they’re good or bad as a family. That’s why my 2010 one little word is: journey.
1 : an act or instance of traveling from one place to another
2 chiefly dialect : a day’s travel
3 : something suggesting travel or passage from one place to another
All of us are very excited about this year and we’re one of those people who doesn’t mind changes — as long as they’re good (or at least they sounded good at that time). I’m hoping to be able to document most if not all of our adventures via my good old blog — or blogs — and scrapbook pages. I mean it’s not everyday we get to pack all our belongings and move to a different country. Now, don’t worry, I won’t be bombarding you folks with pics. I got Flickr/other photo galleries for that {::SMILE}.
Here’s my first page of 2010:
My baby girl.
I used bits and pieces for this page. A little bit of Making Memories paper that came from Studio Calico in 2008, some American Craft, Creative Imaginations and Amy Butler. Nothing fancy — something that’s M-ish.
K, that’s it. Have a great night!!

I KNOW what you mean, when I moved twice to the US it was kinda painful cuz 1. leaving fam and friends behind 2. I had to narrow all my stuff down to two large suitcases, everything else was gone. But like you said, it’s a journey and well, it’ll work out and you and yer fam will start a new life with full of awesome experiences. Thas how I feel now, I got Scott right? But I know, gettting rid of stuff and cleaning all yer junk is nothing but work! But I heard somewhere that if u dunn use stuff in a yr u prolly won’t ever use it or have the need to. So, when I spring clean I remember that and well, it makes things easier! Hang in there :D Of course, awesome layout of M :D
Hugs

Add a CommentHey Savitri! Just wanted to stop by and wish you a happy New Year! I hope your holidays were great! For me, the word will be “journey” as well, I guess, since it’s pretty sure I will go to NZ for a semester at the end of Feb. Which is just about one and a half month away. Which freakes me out. And there’s nothing done so far. Gosh. So you have all my sympathies ;) Best wishes from icy Heidelberg!
Add a CommentSuch a lovely layout! I know your year will be filled with fun and adventure!
Add a CommentI really enjoy your cards and scrapbook pages, but I like all your other insights too. I hope you don’t stop! So far this year, you’ve inspired me to 1) Try the picture-a-day challenge (Yippee — I got a camera for Christmas!), 2) Pick a word for the year (mine will be “fresh”, and 3) Make stuffed pork chops! Oh, and you’ve inspired me to make cards too, but my daughter’s home from college and “camped out” in my craft room — but just until Saturday!
Add a CommentMoving was never fun. I hope you are able to sort out the stuff that you are bringing with you :)
Add a CommentI complained like crazy when I moved 10 miles and the second time when we moved across town. I {HATE} moving! I don’t know how you’re handling it, Savitri. The adventure will be exciting, but it’s the logistics that suck.
The LO is superb! That photo of M is so special.
Add a CommentSuch a sweet layout and good luck with the moving!!!
