SU + PTI

I can’t think of a good title for today’s post. I can’t think of a good story either. We all just had a lazy day today. Both girls are sick and so we all just laid around even though I did get some downstairs cleaning done and a bit of laundry. Nothing exciting really.

Here’s a bit of a blurb for my card… you can read it in the most boring and monotonous way… it’s how I feel right now… I made this card last night. I got some new Stampin’ Up! stamps in the mail and I had to ink ‘em up. I’ve been wanting the Medallion stamp for a while but I never did put in an order until last week. I also wanted to try the new SU cling-on stamps. I like them except that I wish they’d use a CD case instead of a DVD case for storage. It’s nice and all but really, they’re way too big for the stamps I got and they won’t fit into my CD storage unit. The Papertrey stamps I’ve had for awhile but I haven’t really used them until now. I think I got intimidated. I always see all sorts of gorgeous cards using this set and I didn’t want to ruin it. If you’re curious this card is 5.5×5. When I make a card I never think about envelope. Actually I don’t send out as much as I make – a lot of my cards are here with me – and so I never worry about it. It’s a hobby, not a need to send anything out, and so 75% of the time I make them without having anybody in mind to give. I should probably start selling them or something.

Thank You

Alrighty. I should go take my boring ass away from here. Gnight y’all <– I learned this in Missouri {::SMILE}.

I am planning a take over, you all. Target: Scrapland! Check this one picture out. There are tons more! Elise JUST finished her scraproom and it is AMAZING!! I am JEALOUS!!!! I do have a card to share but I have no pic of it and I’m too lazy to get up because I’ve got two gorgeous girls laying on me – sleeping. Both sick. Poor babies. BUT, who cares about my stinkin’ card. Go check out the room. It’s making me very sick too! I think I now have the jealous virus!!!

Guess What?

I will be joining the oh so fabulous Maile Belles and very energetic and fun Elise Durenberger at Wplus9 as one of their design team!! I am so excited! Do you know Dawn Woleslagle? She’s the person behind Wplus9 and she’s an amazing graphic artist. What is Wplus9? It’s a new photo-polymer stamp company and if you want to get an idea what Dawn’s stamps might be like, well, take a look at this and while you’re there go and see her card creations. Gorgeous crispy clean designs!!

I got a sneaky peaky of her stamps, just to make sure that I’d be able to fit well in her team (also to make sure that there’s not going to be a lot of coloring involved cause you all know how “great” I am at it), and all I can say is, you big (favorite) companies out there, watch out, Wplus9 is coming!!!

When will the store open? February-ish. If you want to be the first to shop, hop on over to the store’s website and sign-up to be in the store’s mailing list! I cannot wait to receive her stamps!!

Okie doke, moving on… a card a card AND I stamped everything. Proud of me? Just say yes {::SMILE}. I really like this PTI stamp set and I’m kind of liking the process of making my own pattern paper with stamps.

Thank You

Laters!!

Gift Wrapping 101

Are you gift wrap challenged? If the answer is yes, you SHOULD ask my husband to teach you! He’s REALLY good!!! See this sample below?

Christmas Present

A few tips from the hubby your gifts can also look like his!

M and I watched Flinstones Saved Christmas on YouTube and Fred’s gift wrapping scene made me think of my recent Christmas present from the husband. So, after the girls went to bed I decided to scrapbook this photo using a Pencil Line sketch, #171.

What’s in there? It’s a soft box kit (I think it’s this one) from Calumet. Basically what he did was grabbed the box the UPS man delivered, took it upstairs, and wrapped. Instead of opening the box and wrapping 3-4 boxes he (somewhat) wrapped one huge box. Now, is this just a man thing or is there something wrong with my husband?

Well, have a nice night. I should sleep early one of these night. I know that one day this staying up late will catch up to me.

Flabby Butt and Signing

Posted on | January 27, 2010 | 12 Comments

My M said this evening:

M: Mommy, when are you going to start working out again?
Me: Why?
M: You have a flabby butt.
Me: (deep inside: AAAAAAURGGHHHHHH!!!!)Thanks, M.

So I was doing the P90x but that was short lived. I blame it on M. She puked all over my workout rug. Don’t ask me what happened. I think all the rolling around and crazy moves that I did made her sick. After she threw up she went to bed and was all better the next morning. I ended up watching the video while cleaning up M’s mess. I had to air out the room too and it was probably 0 degrees outside.

BUT, it will continue! I have the kids on a schedule this week and so far so good. If this continues I should be able to workout at around 9:30 p.m.! Of course we’ll see. My hobby might just distract me, ha!

The signing deal… my baby is growing up!! Jovie can sign “milk” and “change“. I use change instead of “diapers” because it’s harder to see the sign for diapers. She’s also understanding “bath” and “all done“. The milk sign started a few weeks ago but I wasn’t sure until a week or two ago. We have this parents as teachers program here and her mentor was here when Jovie signed milk. We’re so proud of our little peanut!! M signed when she was 6-months-old and she got “dog” at 7-months. The rest came tumbling through quickly (we watched the My Baby Can Talk video and Signing Time) and at 14-months M knew about 33 some words. M started talking at 14-months. She skipped babbling and went to talking but a few words were sometimes unclear and so M would speak and sign until she was 18-months-old. By then she was speaking in 4-5 word sentences.

We’re hoping Jovie can do at least the basics. We’ve noticed that she’s a lot slower than M in terms of development timeline. M had a few teeth at Jovie’s age while Jovie’s still toothless. M was already pulling herself up too while Jovie is still not crawling although she loves to sit up by herself and jump on her jumparoo. It’s so interesting to see how different each are. Fun fun!!

I did make a card and this one is based on the current Embellish magazine challenge: stripes and the colors kraft, purple, and brown. So ok, it’s not a traditional stripe but I’ve got some lines in there, right? I wanted to use more of the PTI stamps I got!!

Best Wishes

Before I go I want to share this photo. I love how solemn Jovie looked. Have a nice one and more later!!!
