Tut: Bunny Ears Ribbon Tying

Posted on | October 24, 2009 | 13 Comments |

Ok gals, some of you requested a video on how to tie the bunny ear bows. Well I’m not sure if it’s the proper way but it’s how I do my ribbon tyings.  It’s not the best video because I did it really quick but I hope the visual in the video can help you tie your ribbons better.

I never cut my ribbon before I am done tying. I think I waste less ribbon doing it this way. If I have too long of an edge I’d take my bow apart and shorten it and redo the process again.

Hope your Saturday is wonderful! If you need some inspiration you still have time to play along with M’s sketch challenge. It doesn’t end until the 26th.

Nice tutorial, Vit! I’m always having trouble with those one-sided designed ribbons (like the polka dot one you shared). I play with those it seems like forever to get only the patterned side to show. I’m like you, I hate for the solid part to show. I thought it was just me being anal! :-)

Wow, super helpful!! I always had lots of trouble getting my one-sided ribbon to look right, never really managed to figure that out! Have bookmarked this post now and I’m sure I’ll turn to your video again and again in the future :) Thank you so much!! Best wishes from Heidelberg!

I’m a little bow-phobic and this is a big help, thanks! I didn’t know it was possible to have all of the polkas showing on polka dot ribbon. I usually just treat this type of ribbon like patterned paper and adhere it in strips flat to the card. thanks again!
