Two Day Project

That totally stressed me out!! It should have taken somebody 30 minutes to do this but it’s my 2nd time sewing and with no pattern to go by… I eyeballed everything. So here it it… M’s apron:
It’s far from satisfactory. It’s far from straight. It’s far from perfect threading but she loves it and that’s all that matters. I got 2000 hugs and kisses this morning and it made this apron perfect!!
My first week at work. Everything went well. I even worked out Tue + Thurs! Spin class kicked my butt though, OUCH!!! M ended her first week well. Tues was boring, Wed a girl told M she didn’t want to be M’s friend anymore, Thurs M got slapped and Fri was fun. Hopefully it’ll stay fun!! Jovie did awesome at daycare. She’s still adjusting to the noise level but she’s getting better and loves her two providers. My craft life is suffering but hey can’t do them all, huh?
I did make a card after the apron. think I was so stressed my card looked terrible. It still does. Hope to have time tomorrow to make something decent. Today we’re going out and about. Laters!!
First Day At Work
Posted on | August 19, 2009 | 7 Comments
Me likey my first hour at work. Just a quickie post and a card that I made yesterday (based on a book call that Tiff posted on her blog – no sentiment. I thought of submitting but I think I’m ok without. If you want to try out, give it a shot!!!).The girls were happy too this morning when I dropped them off. Jovie was cooing and smiling in the arms of her daycare lady and M had no complaints although her first day at school was BORING. Oh no, I might have issues with this child!!! Her teacher said she did well but M did not like school. We had a talk. She said she’ll try but so far, day one, not so hot.
One thing I did notice when I got on my blog was how red the pics I posted yesterday are – the skin colors aren’t natural. My Mac’s been broken the last few months and so I’ve been editing on a laptop which a lot of photographers would say: NOOOO. That’s why my photos have been inconsistent (too bright, dark, red, etc). I can’t see really well on the dang laptop and it’s not calibrated. At work I have an uber nice 30″ Mac matte LCD (which I prefer over glossy for editing photos. Glossy makes the photos look higher contrast than they are. Matte seems more as is). Oh well! Hopefully I’ll get my Mac this next week. They think it’s the power supply but if it’s the logic board then I’ll have to get a new computer (which I wouldn’t mind but I’ve been saving my money for a nice lens — so bye bye lens if I have to get a new ‘puter).
Have a great one! More later… from home {::SMILES}.

Just a quickie. No craft, just M. It was her first day of school and I just want to remember this day in my online journal…
I’m so proud of my little girl! I can’t wait to hear her tell me all about her first day!!!
Oh, where’s her backpack? I was carrying it. Her year’s worth of school supplies were in there. Way too heavy she said for her to carry.
I just love her hair. So soft and silky. Even if it’s messy (she did brush her hair) she’s still beautiful. All mom thinks their kids are gorgeous, right?
Note to M: Dad had to be at work by 7 a.m. as always but today was special. He asked his supervisor if he could come in late so that he could walk in with you like this.
There’s Something About Dawn

That made my kid, Miss M, want to go home with her. I mean I guess if I were a kid who loves to stamp I’d want to go home with Dawn too so that I could play in her studio {::SMILES}.

Today the girls and I went to Kansas City to do some errands and have lunch with Dawn McVey (if you’ve been living under a rock she design for Papertrey Ink). A little while back we got to emailing each other because we found that we’re both foodies and we have a thing for Europe or traveling in Europe. I’m glad we decided to meet up. It was fun! Dawn’s super sweet and thoughtful and M thought she’s prettier in person than in pictures (she said this in the car). Thanks Dawn for everything!
Here’s another page that I did:

Another simple page with Scarlet Lime’s August kit. More pretty papers!!! I love M’s picture too. She’s so funny how she’d dress up for whatever occasion. I made us some tea and to drink it she had to put her bathing suit and lei on.
Hope you all will have a great one. It’s M’s first day of school Tuesday and we’re all excited!! Oh, here’s my favorite photo of M with Dawn:

Weekend Crafting

Yesterday we went to a crop at our friend’s house. I really didn’t felt like creating but M really wanted to go and so we did. During one of Jovie’s nap (I was carrying her in my carrier) I did this. LOVE LOVE LOVE this Basic Grey paper. Just so so pretty!!! The flowers… ahh… This was from the August Scarlet Lime kit (PUUUUURDY!!). By the time I was done my right hand needed a massage but at the same time it was relaxing. Nothing fancy but I like it.
Ok, check out what we wore today:
It was raining today and we wore our matching boots to church. I have to say, M and I looked cute he he he.
Hope your weekend’s a nice one. Ours have been a lazy one. I have a lot of cleaning to do but so not motivated!!! I should though!! My visit with my college friend was nice. She only stopped by for a couple hours but it was nice. The hubby was home too and her boyfriend was entertained too.
Tomorrow we’re going to Kansas City. I have to exchange a few plates at Crate and Barrel and take my sick iMac to get looked at. My iMac was broken months ago and it never healed. In between I’m going to meet up with a blog friend who lives in the KC area. I’m super excited because this is the first time for me to meet an online friend. I’m kind of nervous too since I have making friends issues ya know but she knows there’s something wrong with me and she said she won’t bite ha ha ha…
Ok, I’ll post again later. Have a great week!!!
