Monday Fun

This video was made in March and I posted it on my Facebook account. I figured it’d be ok to share here too. This is my crazy husband. He’s sweet but he’s also insane. My M loves his craziness. It’s so weird, how a girl like me can like a guy like him. I would NEVER do what he did in this video:
Have a great Monday!!
Hello From My iMac!
Posted on | August 30, 2009 | 5 Comments
Happy happy weekend!! Love this weekend. Got a lot of stuff done which even includes cleaning!! The best part though was sleeping in Saturday (hubs watched the kids), spending time in Kansas City, and some scrapbooking after everybody was tucked in. So happy I have my iMac again, now I can digiscrap again and make my photos look decent again. YEAH! After picking up the iMac we stopped by Williams Sonoma and I am now the proud owner of my very first real knife: A Shun Chef knife (tough decision… was going to buy a Misono UX10 but I couldn’t find a store where I can handle it in person before buying). I also purchased my very first high end pan: All-Clad 12″ non-stick fry pan. The next knife I’ll buy is a bread knife and the next pans are these skillets and this stir-fry pan. After talking to my friend who went to chef school and other chefs via message boards they all say the same thing: buy what you need first and add up from there. Buying a set is a waste unless you for sure will use everything in that set. Also, mixing and matching is perfectly fine.
I made two pages and this was one of them. When I scrapbook, unless I do a sketch, I never have an idea of what I’ll be doing. So I’ll just start grabbing stuff and gluing them as I see fit. For this page I used an April Scarlet Lime kit and alphas from my stash plus a My Little Shoe Box cloud pattern paper. Oh, the little birdie stamp is from American Craft. I think it’s new.
Where did I get the title? Well, if you looks at the picture below, you can see a reflection of me on M’s eye. Also, through her words, what she sees of and in me, I learn a little bit more about myself.
I forgot to date this page. I like to always have the date when the photo was taken. I don’t journal much (and when I do they’re short and sweet). I think the picture and title says it all but I always want to remember when the picture was taken.
Have a great one! I’m planning on a fun blog candy. Soon, soon!!
Thanks + Christmas {Uber Simple} Card

First of all I want to thank everybody for all the wonderful things you’ve written about M. We really appreciate it and after that incident we had a little talk with her and told her how wonderful she is (without giving her a big head — and M’s pretty down to earth so we’re not too worried there) and that if anybody tells her otherwise she should just smile, say “thank you”, and walk away. We did find out that the after school teacher had a talk with the girl. Did her parents find out? We don’t know, we didn’t ask. But hubby went and picked M up again yesterday and the first thing he did was look for that girl. She was there and when they made eye contact (and hubby can look super scary!) she looked down. I guess he gave her the stare a few times and the teacher and him knew that she’d never say such thing again to anybody. I feel like I’ve become drama mama since school started! What next? Hopefully nothing!!!
Up next is the super simple Christmas card. It even has no sentiment! But ya know, I think it looks better without. I just gives it a classy wintery look to the card. I did add some Pink Paislee Pixies on the trees and mounds. You can’t see the glitter effect on the pictures but in real life, this card is pretty shimmery. I love it!! I used regular (Stampin’ Up!) pen glue and then sprinkled the pixies on it. Love it better than regular glitters… less messy!
I hope you all have a great weekend! I get to pick-up my iMac tomorrow. Yeah!! Hopefully it’ll stay well until I save enough for a 24″ one! M can’t wait and hope it doesn’t break again also. Why? Cause this 20″ one will be her computer – for homework she said (like she has any that uses a computer!). She’s such a geek. She said the most fun class in school is computer lab. Wow, she is turning into her momma {::SMILES}.
Card and Stuff

Wow, I made a card! I haven’t had a lot of craft time since I started work again last week. Actually I haven’t had a lot of time period! I walked into my craft room the other day and I was so surprised to see it nice and tidy. Even the desk was clean! It felt good making this card but boy, I’ll probably pay for it later this evening!!! So here’s a Christmas card using Dawn’s colors for this week. The card’s inspired by Moxie Fab: vintage and I think it can past for clean and simple too. What do you think?
The stuff… my poor Emma… ya know, the kid in the picture above… school’s just rough for her! I thought I had it bad when the girls use to gang up on me cause I was bi-racial but goodness, nobody ever told my daddy, right on his face, that I was ugly.
Yesterday hubby picked M up from school, the after school program to be more exact. While M was getting her backpack and stuff, this girl came up to my hubby and told him this: Your little girl has an ugly face. My husband loves kids. Kids love him too but when he heard that he automatically went into fight mode and all sorts of bad things ran into his head and if looks could kill, that little girl would have been a goner! It was his sweet little M that the girl was referring to and nobody messes with his little baby girl!!! But he didn’t do anything although he did say: It’s like the pot calling the kettle black, huh? Instead, he just looked at the teacher (who also heard and was in shock) and asked her to do something with that girl.
So my kid’s eccentric. Sometimes, when she comes downstairs her clothing choices would just shock me but she loved every bit of how she looked and that I’m cool with. She’s confident about her decisions and I’m proud of her for that (of course if she wants to wear a bikini to school I’d have a say in it but so far she’s modest… just colorful). Plus, despite her colorfulness (she reminds me of Punky Brewster) she’s not at all ugly. Nothing she wore has ever made her face look anything but beautiful. What makes her more special is that she’s also beautiful on the inside. She thinks everybody’s beautiful and she treats everybody equally.
Hopefully school will be a positive and safe place for her to learn. I hope things will get better (being slapped last week was shocking too) and if not, we’re glad that we’ll be moving soon and hope that the next school (hopefully with nuns in them!) will be better.
A Little Note

I made a quickie card last night. There’s this imperfect cardstock and I thought it’ll fit this card design and stamp well. What do you think? It’s a clean and simple card which I think is the theme for Moxie Fab’s challenge. Ok, it’s not a holiday card and so I’m not going to add this card to Mr. Linky on their blog but it is clean and simple {::SMILES}.
Today I got a weird phone call from Jovie’s daycare. It made it sound like the lady doesn’t want to take care of Jovie anymore cause Jovie would fuss every so often and she’d disrupt the other kids. I mean she is a baby afterall, right? For the most part Jovie’s great but there have been short outburst here and there and when Jovie’s mad, she is MAD! But again that’s normal for a baby, right? So I’m not sure what I’m going to do if Jovie gets kicked out. I called around and the preferred places are full. Hard to find anything last minute! I hope when I pick her up what I thought the daycare lady said on the phone isn’t what I thought she meant. It was vague. She just went off on how she doesn’t know how long she can do this. Jovie likes to be held when she’s upset and she can’t hold her all the time (there are two providers there… it’s a small home daycare). Etc., etc., etc…
Alrighty, have a great one and I hope I will not be running around looking for a daycare provider in the next few days! I am fortunate to have a flexible hour job where I can even work from home but I can’t work when she’s awake and she’s been awake more too.
