Anniversary Idea
Posted on | July 23, 2009 | 12 Comments
Next Tuesday is our 6th anniversary. Wow, feels like 15 ha ha ha… But we have no idea what to do since we have a newborn. We can’t leave her with a friend for a late night deal or for an extended all day deal. Anybody has a suggestion? I do want to do something special since he’s a special guy in many ways (although don’t get me wrong, there are days where I want to kick him out the door he he he). He’s so special that he even makes me handmade cards. The above was a birthday card and remember this one (it’s peaking out from behind the Snuggle card) from last year’s mother’s day?
We love celebrating our anniversary for many reasons but one big reason is that we managed to have another great year without killing each other and look forward to another one (without killing each other). Hubby and I are polar opposites. Hubby’s friends are often surprised after they met me… just not what they expected. For example I’m a sweetie and he’s an asshole. That’s right! My husband is brutally honest. That’s why our conversations are often times so colorful and interesting. So those who doesn’t know him well might take him as anything but nice. But, once you get to know him, you can expect an honest answer from him. But when it comes to old ladies… goodness, he’s a sweetheart. Old ladies LOVE LOVE LOVE him. And kids too. He’s totally sweet with them and half wants to go home with him he he he…
But despite our difference we somehow click and we work well together. He’s what I’m not and vice versa. We do have our arguments… most are stupid (like how lousy I am at cleaning or how he has very selective memory) or how we raise our kids (I’m more into education and he’s more into experience and real life stuff) but hey, that’s marriage, right? As long as we work things out and we make up soon after then all’s good.
Anyhow, I just rambled there… but if you have any idea on what we can do, that’d be awesome. Should we do a family thing or leave the kids with somebody? Ahhh… I know hubby would rather have me to himself… and not smell like spit-up ha ha.
Some AC Love

Today was a busy day! Had a doc’s appt. this a.m. for my six weeks pos-natal and I am oh so healthy. Then I met up with a good friend to check out her 13″ MacBook Pro (thinking of getting a used one for traveling – under $600 preferably – got one?) and browse our downtown stores. Downtown we went to the music store and got info on guitar (for me) and piano (for M) lessons, got new Chuck Taylor for M (she’s been wearing these since she was itty bitty), and the bike shop. Hubby got himself a nice one and he said there’s one that he said I’d like in there. Yes it’s nice but uhm… $435 for a bike is a bit rich for my pocket book. If biking’s my thing then I can see getting something that’s hundreds of dollars but I’m a casual biker (I rather get a used Mac laptop he he he…). What do you think? I think I’ll go check out Craiglist he he he…
So here’s my card that’s based on Taylored Expressions challenge for this week, #74. Fun sketch and I made this cutesy card. I got some American Craft paper from my local scrapbook store and finally broke down to use it… I’m a hoarder! I made this while Jovie’s asleep and she still is. What a sleepy head!!! She LOVES LOVES LOVES her litte Beco Butterfly carrier.
K, better go. Need to take pics of something… I’ll share tomorrow if I can get a good shot {::SMILES}.
Let It Snow

I got a page done today. I started this last night after Jovie went to bed at 10 p.m. Yes, 10!!! M wanted to watch a movie so while she did that I started this. BUT, I couldn’t finish. I just didn’t have the right embellishments for it. Until today. I know it’s not snowy themed but ya know, that’s just me. I’m not into themes. I like to match colors more than themes. I love these pics. We had fun taking pics and playing in the snow. For the bottom picture I got up on a ladder. It wasn’t tall enough but alright. The hubby wasn’t too crazy when he came home and saw a ladder in the middle of the yard that his pregnant wife used he he he… For the outfit, in case you’re wondering, were from Hanna Andersson. I love their stuff. The quality’s great… they look new even after many use and wash. Plus they make them so that they’ll fit the kid for two years. They’re a bit spendy so catch them on sale.
That’s that… oh, the paper for the page… they’re My Mind’s Eye and the floral one is Chatter Box. The embellishments were from 7Gypsies. They’re stickers. I did some tearing and stapling on the paper. The round shape I cut using EK Success glass mat and round Curvy Cutter. I barely use them, bad me!!!

M and I had a nice crafty afternoon. These were what we came up with. We used the bonus sketch at 2S4Y by the oh so talented Clouds.
Well we’re going to get ready for gymnastics. Hopefully we’ll get to have more arts and craft time soon! Have a great great Monday!!! Oh, I think Jovie is smiling. Random but smiling. She started last Thursday but I had to analyze a bit to make sure before reporting he he he…

How’s your weekend? Ours was BUSY! We had a yard sale and a lot of cleaning. But, come Sunday afternoon and we all got to relax a bit. I even went in to work for a few hours, which was sooooo nice. Just quiet and I got what I needed to do done.
Here’s a card using Dawn McVey’s colors: red, pink, green, and cream. I’ve had this SU embossing template for a while. Bad me, huh? I wanted to highlight the embossing and so left the card as clean as possible. I did use all the colors but the picture seemed to have blended the pink and red together. The ribbon is PTI’s Rasberry Fizz and the sentiment + twine is red.
Ok, another week. Hopefully it’ll be a great one for all!
