Serial Killer

Here’s a plant that hubby gave me a few days after Jovie was born. I just took this picture today and the plant is currently crispy. It’s been crispy for a week. It’s still in the house because I think it still looks nice (and I don’t have to water it) he he he… here’s the conversation that hubby and I had about a week ago.
Hubby: I can’t believe you killed the plant that I just got you. Have you not been watering it?
Me: Yeah I’ve been watering it. I watered it the other day.
Hubby: Did you water it yesterday?
Me: No.
Hubby: Why?
Me: You said it’s a hardy plant. So I only water it every so often.
Hubby: (paused and looking perplexed) Hmmm, I guess it’s not hardy enough.
Me: (just thinking in my head: maybe next time you should try a cactus)
A few days later I was driving somewhere and I stopped the car next to our veggie garden to check it out. It’s been raining almost everyday here so the garden’s been great.
M: Mommy, what are you doing?
Me: Oh, just stopping to see how my garden’s doing.
M: Don’t stare too long.
Me: Why, baby?
M: If you stare too long you might kill them.
Me: (speechless and I drove off)
So yes, the above plant isn’t the first plant I killed. I’ve killed all the potted plants that have been entrusted/given to me. My friend asked if we could watch her cat and plant. I told her the cat’s fine but the plant no, unless this is what she wanted to see when she came back from her trip {::SMILES}.
Ok, so enough of me killing stuff… Here’s something I can’t kill… a Prima flower, ha! A super simple page (it’s my theme lately) of Jovie and her grandparents. There’s really not a lot to it. A few elements, a gorgeous College Press paper, big alphas and pictures and I got myself a page that I love.
Have a great one and try not to kill anything will ya {::SMILES}.

Oh yeah, I’m a black thumber too :) gorgeous layout…you’re the first one I’m telling…I scrapbooked yesterday {shocking, I know!}. I’m having a heck of a time taking a decent photo of it with my point & shoot and I’m much too embarassed to upload it until it looks somewhat decent…but hey, I scrapbooked! Note to self, go to 6×6 format.
Add a CommentCongrats on making it to Dawn’s spotlight! Yeah! I have the same apparent inability to keep anything green alive. If killin’ plants is illegal then lock me up! LOL!
Add a Commenthahah! hilarious!!! I can’t keep a plant alive either. a co-worker gave me a cactus for this reason and i killed that by over watering it. Anyway i got nervous cause she said she was going to visit the dang thing one day.
I never got to congratulate you on the birth of your new baby!!! she is so sweet and cute!!! also good luck on your move to London. I have a friend who lives in Kingston and they own a bar called Barcadia. My husband and I are planning to visit them in 2011. Hahah yes far from now. But when I visit i’ll let you know…maybe we’ll have tea!!
Add a CommentHahahaha…I’m laughing cos I seem to have the same problem. Hence, no plants unless it’s super hardy! :P
Love your layout. I need to scrapbook more :) Need to find the time when I come home from work but the problem is I am so..oh…slow. hehe…
Need to pick up speed >.<
Add a CommentHaha this is hilarious :D I can relate, I have managed to kill quite a few plants, the only one left is a small ivy plant – which are practically indestructible (once I neglected it for some weeks and most its leaves turned yellow, but it recovered :)). About the trip to Germany: If you should consider to visit Germany, let me know, I could try and help you with the planning and maybe give you some advice which places are a must-see :) Heidelberg is among them ;) Have a great, sunny day!
Add a CommentOMG this is too funny! It was so funny I had my boyfrined read it and we both were rolling. Not everyone has a green thumb, maybe yours is a little more green-brown.
Love the layout…you may not be a horticulturalist, but you can scrap and make cards beautifully!
Add a Commenthaha..you are so funny, Savitri! I was feeling sleepy at first but got awake after i read your conversation with M :)
And what a beautiful layout you got there!!
Add a CommentKids say the darndest things don’t they. M is hilarious :)
Don’t feel too bad about killing the plant. One of my ex coworkers got me this indoor plant that was impossible to kill. Guess what, yeah it died. I’m horrible with plants!
Add a CommentSuch a simple, yet gorgeous page! The photos really shine, and that flower is beautiful!
