I just want to thank you all for the well wishes. Our family appreciates each and every one of them!!! Sorry it took me so long to tell you this! So far everything is great. It’s all that we expected the first week. Jovie is a very sweet girl. She is very mellow and only fuss when needed. We love having her!!! I am recuperating well. I do have other aches and pains to complain about but we’ll talk about that later {::SMILES}.
I made a card (using Kazan sketch #28)!!! I thought I’d be away from my craft table longer but I couldn’t help it. Plus, Jovie’s been sleeping A LOT!!! Yes I did my naps and I’ve gotten a few things organized but with hubby home with me and M the second time around is much better in terms of household chores and baby duties.
Despite the sleeping like a baby the crib is still baby-less. Jovie hates it! I can lay her on the bed, any bed, the couch, the recliner, and she’d sleep. Lay this kid in her crib and 10 minutes later she’d be crying. M was the same way. It took us two weeks to get her to sleep in it and that was with a lot of trickery. So far what worked then isn’t working for Jovie. So we’ll see what we come up with. Suggestions?
Almost a week and
- Jovie’s still a hit with the family
- Went to first week checkup
- Dr. said she’s the pinkest baby she’s seen
- Jovie pooped all over dad… his face and all (LOVE this!!)
- Can’t separate M from the babe
- M changed (attempted) a poopie diaper
- Nursing is as painful the 2nd time around
- Jovie hates long pants onsie jammies
- Our bedroom is finally organized
I have more pics to share…
Miss M and her sister… M still cannot get enough of her sister. This was the first day home… aka Saturday…
Introducing Jovie to Shady… or actually Shady to Jovie…
Sisters…

Another amazing card! I love the color combo. Who knew gray could go with orange and green? They match so well together.
When I read up to where Jovie pooped on your hubby, I LMAO’ed. How did that even happen?

Add a CommentOkay – how do you do it!!?!! You already made a card with a newborn babe in the room! And a beautiful sweet lovely card – love those colors!! And the pictures are simply unbelievably b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l! I LOVE the last one with the hands – and I LOVE the first one – OH! Those cheeks!!! Okay – it is totally making me want to have another one! WHAT!!! Did I say that out loud!?! Awww Savitri – these pictures are just precious!
And as for the crib – here are some things that helped me:
- i put a hot water bottle in the crib so that it isn’t too cold in the transition from my arms to the crib (of course removing it before puttin baby in)
- leaving some piece of clothing of yours in the crib with baby (they can smell you – and that is comforting – so just leaving something that you have been wearing in the crib with them is comforting)
- waiting/holding baby for 3-5 minutes after she is sleeping for awhile and after that putting baby in the crib – somehow that worked with the second – it was almost like she went into a deeper state of sleep or something
- we got a sound soother – that plays the ocean waves and waterfall and have it going on next to the crib (not too loudly) that reallllly helps – and now 2 years later – she closes her eyes as soon as i turn it on for nap time! love it!
- i got a little baby cozy mat for the crib as a baby shower gift (it’s kind of like lambswool – super super super soft and also flat) and that really helped keep baby cozy during naptime
hmm- if I think of anymore will let you know – keep those pictures coming – your pictures of J are just simply beautiful Savitri!
Sending you all a BIG basketful of congratulation wishes!!!
Add a CommentMuch love!!

I can’t believe you are more productive in the card making business than me…and I haven’t given birth to anyone in over 5 years. Hugs!

Add a CommentOh, how lovely! The baby, the family and the CARD, too! Blessings to your family — she’s a BEAUTIFUL little gift!!
Add a CommentI know what you mean; it’s hard to stay away from crafting – a good release from the everyday baby duties, however wonderful they are! Keep your feet up, if you can (you can still be creative with your feet up, right?) I am a mom of many and I always wish I would have stayed in my nightie a little longer….:)
