One More Week…

Almost!! Until my due date of June 4th. So far nothing exciting is happening in terms of labor. With my luck, just like M, she’ll show up on her due date. In the meantime, during my insomniac moment, I made the below… I used Kristina’s colors for this week: black, white, red, blue, and yellow.
Oh, I’ve gotten a few emails on what envelope I use for my larger/super bulky cards and where I get them (most of my cards are 4.25×5.5″ but a lot of times I have stuff sticking out of them… like this ribbon). Well, I’d go to Hallmark, we have one in town, and ask if they have any leftover bigger size envelopes. They usually do and they’d sell them to me for $.03 each. Pretty cheap I think. Even though I can stick this one in a regular envelope I hate how the ribbon will end up looking once you take it out. So I stick with bigger envelopes. If I give a gift with a card sometimes I don’t even do an envelope. I just tuck the card under the ribbon inside the gift box and it’ll be part of the gift decor. Is that rude? I don’t know but my card stays nice ha ha ha…
I also have a little toot… I’ll be guest DT-ing at CardPatterns next week (sketch #17). Yeah! It was my first time playing there and really didn’t expect to win sketch #15. So I was super super happy when I got online Monday and clicking through my Google Reader and saw my card plus the email from Michelle. I’ll get working on this tonight… in case I have a baby {::SMILES}.
Oh, one last thing… it’s SIX (6) more days until the big 2Sketches4You contest!!! TONS of prizes and the big winner gets to keep over $500 worth of stuff!!!!
Happy Birthday!!

To the best husband and daddy!!! It’s his bday today and we’ve been celebrating all weekend. He’s a big 31-yrs-old!!! Seven years ago today him and I met too. It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to us and to him, I’m still his best birthday gift from above {::SMILES}.
Yesterday we had a wonderful time in Kansas City. We went to a new sushi restaurant, Edokko, and had really good sushi. It’s now our new favorite. Then we hung out at Barnes and Nobles and last our friend’s wedding. We didn’t get home until 12:30 a.m. I do have some photos to share… some of hubs, M, and me…
I took this photo of him and M yesterday at our friend’s wedding. I LOVE this photo. That look on his face while looking at M is just priceless!!!
M’s starting to be such a daddy’s girl. We’re so happy because she was always a momma’s girl. This is the bad part of being a military family since he was gone quite a bit before she was three and when he was home he had the most crazy hours. So this is such a big big treat for us. Now she wants to go places with him more or just hang out in the garage while he works on Jane.
This next picture… well, he got suckered into doing the YMCA at his friend’s wedding. He’s the navy guy… at least for a few minutes he he… he’s so awesome… especially when he had a bit to drink LOL.
Last but not least… here’s me at 38.5 wks… taken yesterday before we left the wedding with terrible lighting but I managed to Photoshop it enough to get the below. The outfit I wore are not maternity clothes. This time around I’ve been buying clothes that are stretchy, a tie waist, or bands. Works out well and I can wear them after baby’s born.
Ok, that’s it for today. I will be crafting tomorrow but until then… we’re going to keep partying… so off to Dairy Queen…
It’s FRIDAY!!!!!!

Yeah! Seemed like it was a long long week!!!! I am feeling good too today. I even cooked last night. Whoohoo!!!!
So excited that it’s a long weekend. It’ll be busy but fun. I’ll be seeing my old friend/co-worker who’s dropping in tomorrow morning, then taking the hubs to lunch, do a little bit of shopping, and go to a wedding. Sunday we’re going to finish up baby’s area. She’ll be sleeping in our room. We’re fortunate to have a 550+ sqft bedroom and so her crib and dresser will be on one side of the room. We need to finish cleaning and rearranging stuff and that’s it. When she’s older she’ll be kicked out, but until then it’d be more pleasant for us (me especially) to change and nurse her at night.
We actually didn’t set up a nursery for her. We have moving plans in the works. We have somebody coming in to finish up some unfinished projects and after that we can put the house up for sale. We live in the country and we want to move back in town and rent. Why? Hubby’s in the A.F. and we want to try to get stationed overseas. Without a mortgage we’d feel a lot better about applying for a position and moving soon after. M loves the idea of sharing her room with baby so even if we stay in our house we’d just rearrange M’s room to fit two and make my office into a play/craft room. Guest… blah, who cares, we rarely get any. Seriously!
Here’s a little baby card. Told you I have a lot of friends who are having babies. The stamp is Heidi Grace and I used Copic markers to color. The ribbon was on sale at Michael’s some while back. I got it for a $1 and it’s 5yrds I think. The little owl came from Borders. It’s a pin (there are 10 in a package I think) and they’re all super cute. LOVE them!!! I got some matching stickers too but haven’t used them. The Little One is a sticker. I got that from PaperCraft. It was their little freebie inserts – trying to get me to subscribe. Oh, the DP is SEI and card stock’s from SU.

I’ve been wanting to do a CardPatterns’ challenge in a while but 15 sketches later I finally have the opportunity. Again I used the same stamps from Inkadinkado. I promise this is the last one for a little while. Due to my inability to move around much (just HURTS!) I’ve only been making projects using whatever’s within arm’s reach. Next time I’ll grab a different stamp set from the closet before I plop myself down {::SMILES}.
Today I feel so much better. I hope it stays until I pop the baby out or at least until Sunday. I have a wedding to go to Saturday in the city and we’re also going out to lunch for hubby’s bday — our favorite SUSHI!! The bad wife me… I still have NO gift!!! I have no idea what to give him… he hasn’t had any wants lately (he only wants baby to hurry up and come out so that I won’t be in so much pain) and he’s got enough car parts to last him a while (for Jane, the ’62 Impala) – plus he’s as picky with his car stuff as I am with my crafty goodness. A GC is the only thing I can think of. This way he can buy himself THE perfect tool or something. We’ll see. He’s been SOOOO awesome, even cooked all week, and I do want something special. Ahhh….
Have a great Thursday! The weekend is ALMOST here!!!
A Make-Over

The first card was my first attempt at Kristina’s color challenge for this week and Laura’s sketch at 2S4Y but I dunno, it just didn’t turn out right. So I just tossed that card aside and made another one which was posted yesterday. Then, I grabbed this card again and added brown and some more stamping and voila. I like it a lot better. What do you think? I already stamped the congratulations and sewed the lace and scalloped paper so not much I can do there but the different, darker, ribbon and extra stamping made the card more interesting.
I have an M story… this happened during our party over the weekend… The weather got cold by the time we had the bon fire. M was eating her smorse and there were a few older girls (8/9-yrs-old) that were sitting next to her. M said: It is getting cold. The girls heard and they got up, put an extra blanket on M and started moving the chair closer to the fire. Instead of relaxing and saying thank you here’s what M said (in a sassy little adult voice): Girls, girls, stop. Just stop (imagine both her hands up and doing the stop movements… like the ones us adults do when the kids are into something they shouldn’t). I can do this myself, I do not (put an emphasis on the “do not”) need your help. One of hubby’s coworker was there and he couldn’t help but bust out laughing. The girls quit and didn’t know what to do.I guess M got up, readjusted everything and plopped herself on the chair again and continued to eat her smorse.
Yesterday hubby’s coworker asked hubby if M’s always like that. Hubby said: Yup. She’s something else and who knows what’ll come out of that little mouth.
Have a great day. I feel a tad better. If it continues I’m going to walk this afternoon. I still want to stay active and maybe it’ll help evict the baby out of her warm comfy spot ha ha!
