Here’s a little bookmark that I made for me using a Mari K. kit at The DigiChick: Moroccan Sunset. It’s only $2 but boy does it have a lot of goodies in there!!!

Yesterday we went to a picnic at a farm. We had a really great time! We are a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) member and we get our grass fed meat from a local farmer (45 minutes away). Every year he has a picnic at his home and this was our first. Besides yummy food (a lot of foodies are members of this farmer’s CSA and so we got to sample some awesome and very different dishes) and a tour of the farm we got to play with the baby farm animals. M even got to feed the lambs. So so cute!!! Here are some pics…

That was our Saturday. We slept in, ate, cooked for the potluck picnic, met new people, ate a lot, and enjoyed a little bit of farm animals. If you are not a CSA member or local farmer’s market goer go online or ask around (that’s how we found our meat farmer) and see if there are local farmers (veggies/meat) that you can buy locally from. The summers for us are so nice. We have an abundance of local harvest around here (you should see the glorious yolk from the eggs that we get a mile from us or the best looking green beans from a family down the road). Not only do they taste better we’re also supporting those in our community.

I have a few other things to share but I haven’t taken any photos of them so it’ll have to wait until tomorrow!!!

Card Patterns Guest DT Card

Happy weekend! Here’s my take on Card Pattern’s sketch, #17, for this week. Such a fun one and the digital images from DigiShack are so fun! I don’t color well but I think I didn’t do too bad he he… If you’re wanting to try digital images and not sure how, check out this video tut that I made. Super easy using Word.

I LOVE the ribbon. It was in the discount bin at Michael’s. I got 4 yrds for a buck! I decided to go with earthy tone backgrounds so that the flower will pop. I think I accomplished that goal. I hope you play along this week and I can’t wait to see what you come up with!!

Thank You Gifts

Thank You Chocolate Gift

Well, I had really high hopes that I’d be able to do more than this but nope… just couldn’t get the motivation or time to make five more elaborate  teachers’ gifts. Today’s M’s last full-time day at her preschool/daycare. Next week, for two weeks, she’ll be in kindergarten summer class. She CANNOT wait!!! After that we’ll be kickin’ in at home. We have some activities and trips planned but we’ll see how much we’d be able to do with baby. Hopefully we’d have a good daytime schedule (and health) going within a few weeks… just like I had with M. If not, then plan B {::SMILES}.

So here’s M’s little thank you present for her teacher: chocolates. She picked the papers, ribbon, buttons, and flowers and punched the butterflies. She’s got good taste, huh? The paper and stamp’s from Stampin’ Up!, flower is American Craft, and the ribbon’s from the local antique store (another 20 yards for cheap AND vintage). I used my Scor-It to help wrap the paper nicely around the chocolates. I think you can kind of see the scor line there.

Alright, today’s my last day at work. I’ll be on maternity leave ALL summer long. I’m looking forward to a few days of relaxing before baby shows up. I’m kind of freaking out too… my mid-wife said that if I don’t start anything they’ll strip my membranes next Thursday (my due date!!!). Eek!!! I hope that doesn’t happen. Sounds pretty rough (and not 100% effective) from what they described and reading it online. Laters!!!

Baby Makes Three

I had my 39-wks appt. yesterday and so far… NOTHING. So just waiting and today my pubic bones are killing me again. It started last night and I just couldn’t lay down and get comfy. So this card came about. I saw that the deadline got extended and so I could play along with Dawn McVey’s color challenge, #7. It’s my first one: Rasberry, Avocado, and Celery… or something like that. My friend is having her third baby, a little girl, and I thought this would be perfect.

Today I got to track down a UPS package. An SU box. The website said it was delivered Tuesday but I saw no package. This is the first. There’s no way anybody could have taken it unless somebody really wants some Stampin’ Up! stuff. We live on some acreage and you really got to walk or drive up to our house to pick this thing up. I’m guessing the UPS man/woman dropped it off at the wrong house since I didn’t even see the sticker they usually stick on our garage or front door. Tomorrow’s my last day at work… or in my office. I dunno, I might work from home. We’ll see. My in-laws will be here Monday too so we’ll will be busy busy with last minute baby stuff, getting the house somewhat decent for them, and figuring out a meal plan while they’re here.

Lucky Me…

M and Drew

To have these two in my life. I can’t wait to meet our new addition. I think we’ll name her baby J… but not sure. We’ll know when we see her. I never thought I’d be mom and here I am with one and another coming next week (I hope!).  It’ll be challenging and tiring but very well worth while.

The hubby said he wished we have more pics of him and I together but hmmm… I’m just too camera shy. I rather be behind the camera. I was always told growing up that I wasn’t very photogenic. So I’m quite self conscious when it comes to picture time. Maybe one day…

That’s it, just a little personal post.
