Push-Up Time

Push Up Time

I love this picture and who knows how much longer this activity will last but M LOVES to be on top of dad while he does the push-ups. Hubby works out almost everyday at the gym but every so often he’d do a few extras at home… or when M ask for “horsie push-up game.” She thinks this is the best thing a dad can do for her… for sure mom can’t do this {::SMILES}. I can’t wait to start working out again though. Soon, soon!

I’ve been good. I haven’t shopped much and have just been using up my stash. That’s why there are a lot of the same elements/paper on some of my pages/cards. For this page I used some stuff from Scarlet Lime (the cardstock and pattern paper and flower), Hambly Screen Print, American Craft, and K&Co. Again I’m just piling elements on different sides of the image. I should change my scrap style up a bit. Seems like it’s all I’ve been doing… pick a corner and pile it on. I need to try some free form stuff. We’ll see…

Have a great Tuesday!!!

Tut: Printing Digital Images in Word

Posted on | April 20, 2009 | 7 Comments

Note: For a better view, you might want to watch it directly on YouTube. It’s just bigger than my blog screen.

You don’t need to have Photoshop or any fancy graphic editor to try hybrid card making/scrapbooking. Word is good enough. Here’s a little tut to help you get started. Oh, I print with a regular Canon (I got it free with my Mac) color printer and on regular card stock. I usually use the card stock from Office Depot/WalMart. They’re 110lbs paper but they fit my printer better than the SU/PaperTrey ones (the PTI paper’s a bit thicker than SU’s). I’ve printed on laser printer too. More vibrant but besides that, any color printer will do. For images where I color (like clip-arts), I just use my regular laser (old) b&w printer. Enjoy!!

If you want some free image editors though, you can try out:

Owlie Birthday

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! Ours was super nice and relaxing. I got a lot of cleaning done and we dug some baby stuff out and laundering/cleaning them a little bit here and there. We got the crib out too. Still in pieces but we have all the parts. We also had lots of laughs and danced with Sinatra. We just love listening to his collection while we work and every so often we’d dance to a song or two. We’re no ballroom dancers and so that’s where the giggles come in. Plus it doesn’t help when you have a 5-yr-old directing.

Here’s a card using Laura’s sketch, #24, using goodies from Wicked Princess. I’ve also added some of my own Martha Stewart ribbon, G Studio owl stamp, and a tag by Matahati Design. Love the Pink Paislee Pixies. So not like sparkles. They shimmer (see my flower) but the sparkles didn’t stick everywhere. Cleaning was a breeze. The hubby likes it better (he couldn’t see a trail of me all over the house… wherever Savitri went a sparkle trail was found).

Oh, I got a couple emails on how I did the hybrid stuff. I’ll have a video tutorial of that coming soon. It’s really easy and no, you do not need Photoshop!

Have a great Monday everybody!

Mother

mother

Happy weekend! It’s raining here and we’ve all been lazy. What’s better than cuddling and sharing some love + giggles in bed on a rainy Saturday morning? Of course M was in the middle… her favorite spot {::SMILES}.

Here’s another hybrid card, again my Matahati (Girly Girl – Scrap Orchard), PTI “mother” stamp, and the flower by me. My mom taught me how to make this one when she was here. This is the first I’ve made (I only watched her do it) and I thought it’d be appropriate if I gave my first creation to her for mother’s day. Mother’s day isn’t celebrated in Indonesia (where she’s at) but hey, why not, right? You can use any type of ribbon but the wired ones are best I think unless you make a smaller flower. The wire really help the shape — very easy to fluff the flower up.

Alrighty, I’m off to make a huge brunch: homemade pancakes, grass fed pork sausage, farm fresh eggs, and grits. My pancakes are getting better. I’ve been practicing this last year so that one day I can have a bed & breakfast he he…

Hi Baby!

Hi Baby

No I’m not at the hospital posting AND having a baby. Baby’s kicking the crap out of me now but no, she’s still cozy inside. I’m 33 weeks tho… oh counting down!!! In the meantime, my friends are having babies. WOW, you can’t believe how many friends I have that are having babies between March and July! I can’t keep up who’s having a boy and a girl either so until I get the announcements I don’t usually send the card {:SMILES}.

This is an almost exclusive hybrid card (kit from Matahati Design, currently April guest at the DigiChick, called Spring Medley). This kit has AWESOME papers!!! Actually Matahati has great papers in general for paper crafting. You can see her store at Scrap Orchard. Now, can I love my own work or is that just too snobbish? But I think this is the cutest card I’ve ever made. I just love the Damask and color on the pattern paper! The none hybrid items are the PTI BABY stamp, ribbon, button, twine, and cardstock. I did some Scor-It-ing on the brown paper too, see? Amy‘s been scoring like crazy so I thought I’d join the fun he he…

While I was kit browsing, I saw this lovely:

Cre-Bisontine

I just downloaded a few this week so got to wait and I need to find some pics or take some that will fit the kit but oooh, isn’t that just so so lovely?

Have a great Friday! More later!!!
