The X-Factor

Thank You Ok, this is going to sound weird but my ex-husband and his wife just left our home a few hours ago (we were suppose to meet in Omaha but the weather got all crazy on us). Even though it was only a night we had a great time talking – catching up and getting to know his wife more.

A bit of history… I was with my ex for eight years. He was my college sweetheart and my first serious boyfriend (my first kiss at 20!!!). He’s a sweet sweet guy but we weren’t meant to spend our lives under the same roof. What we needed to accomplish in life we couldn’t do together but no matter what we promised to always be there for each other. We even did the silly thing of: if we meet up again and we’re both single maybe we can hook up again. But of course that’s not the case even though he was very particular about who I dated and vice versa.

The first year we were apart I learned more about me than my whole entire life it seemed. I set up goals and accomplished them within the set time limits. For the first time I did a lot of stuff for me. It felt really good and my ex was very proud and happy for me. We always chatted here and there and not being together as a couple actually helped us grow. He met his wife a couple years ago and that’s been the best thing for him (just like my hubby has been for me). I only dated my hubby after our split but my ex went through a few and his wife was the only one I approved. I really like her (even though I did warn her that if she ever hurt him I’d come over and karate chop her ha ha). Lately her and I have been chatting on Facebook. We got along really well and so it was so nice to meet her in person.

ReunionMy husband… he’s cool with everything (he took this picture). He had a great time visiting with both and of course M did too. Some people have a hard time with my relationships. It’s complicated but our current arrangement makes our souls very happy. Although my ex and I couldn’t live together ’til death do us part, we both can honestly say that there’s no better person we’d rather be with during our early adult life than each other.

My card is a simple card using all SU stuff: Sizzlet Little Leaves, cardstock, Trendy Trees stamp. The colors are based on Kristina’s colors: black, white, red, and basic gray.

My Not in the Mood Card

Posted on | February 12, 2009 | 5 Comments

fairytale I made this card a few weeks back. I wasn’t in the mood but wanted to make something to get out of the funk. This was what I came up with. The colors made me feel good but the stamp set – a bit blah blah. I think a flower or brads or buttons would have been nice to add on to this… or a big fat ribbon!

What does your creation look like when you’re not feeling it? Got one to share? Link it up, I’d love to see.

I just came back from a lovely lunch with my good (real life) friend and her little boy. Nice to see her as always and the lunch wasn’t shabby either. It’s the only decent Asian restaurant in town. Had some soup and shared an appetizer. The talks are always nice. I wish I can meet up with friends more often. What would be fabulous is to one day meet the regular ppl I see here in blogesphere (is this a word?). For example Amy. I’ve been visiting Amy‘s blog since I started actively blogging. I kept seeing her stuff on SCS and we both liked, still do, the clean and simple look. I think she was one of my first regular visitors too — I’m almost sure (maybe for a while she was the ONLY visitor ha ha). Then there are a few others too, which I won’t name because I might miss somebody. It’d just be great to one day meet you all in person.

Tomorrow I’m going to meet another special, long time, friend. I’ll tell you more about that later.

Massage

1st Massage

Wish it was mine!

This page was M in Indonesia getting her first 30 min. massage. Oh she loved it and it was so inexpensive – $1.50 I think. I wish I had gotten a better picture but this is it. It’s the memories and stories that counts right when you’re scrapbooking?

It’s stamp night again. I haven’t gone to an SU stamp night at my upline in ages!! We’re doing a card swap too but I’ll show you mine tomorrow. The interesting part… I didn’t use any SU stamps… just card stock. Oh well, it’s never strict.

Tomorrow I will also get a big box from SU with lots of goodies. Me love Sale-A-Bration!!!! I can’t wait to play with them and do a couple at the SU workshop that I’m leading next week. Will be fun!

Material:
Scarlet Lime Oct’08 kit and alpha from my KnK. Oh, the bird on the top right was cut from somebody’s business card.

Tut: The Bookmark Feature in Acrobat Pro

Posted on | February 10, 2009 | 1 Comment

Ok you folks who have Adobe Acrobat Professional and is a demo or Stampin’ Up fan, this tut is for you!

I love my SU paper catty but lately I have been doing my bookmarking and stuff on the electronic version. Why? Cause it’s easier and it keeps my book copy nice and clean. Just check out the video above to know what I mean.

But as a demo or customer using this method can make online information more graphic and easier — less likely to mess up pages and stamp sets {::SMILES}.

Have a great one!

PS: I just checked the Adobe site. You get this feature starting from the Standard version. BUT, if you purchased an Adobe Create Suite bundle or the sort (it’s what I have), most likely you have the standard/pro version of Acrobat.

Birthday Card, 2sketches4you

Heres my first card for 2sketches4you. This is Laura’s sketch #19. Check it out and participate. It’s fun AND you can get a chance to win an awesome prize, stamps and papers from DeNami Design!

Wait! The above is not the blog candy info!!!!

First the eye candy… my very own handsome (least I think so) husband. He posed JUST for the occasion. This is not his sweetest look but this was the look he wanted to share with you all {::SMILES}.

My Sweetie

And the blog candy: Each day until Valentine’s day 2sketches4you is giving away a Sakura American pen set. All you have to do is post a picture of your sweetie (husband, Dad, Uncle, Brother, etc.) on your blog and link back to them. Each day they will pick someone’s “Eye Candy” for some Sakura Blog Candy.

So make a card, get a chance to win a prize, and/or post a picture of your sweetie this week for another chance of winning a blog candy from 2S4U. I can’t wait to see what you all post on the 2S4Y blog!!!! To clarify, you do not need to create a card based on the sketch to be eligible for the candy.
