Hi Good Friend

Hi Good Friend

I finally have time to do a KWerner color challenge card. After I got done and here I am typing my blog post, I’m not really sure if I used really rust or regal red. The colors are suppose to be more mustard, really rust, kiwi kiss, and white. But hey, whatever, I had fun making it {::SMILES}.

I also used my stamp set from the new SU catty. Isn’t the bird adorable? The bigger flower I die-cut using my Cuttlebug. I’m thinking of getting a Big Shot. I had to do a few passes to get the die to cut the felt. Plus it’d be nice if I have something wider too. Who knows. We’ll see.

I think we’re going out tonight but I’m not sure. It’s a hubby thing and he’s always on the “lets wing it” schedule. I hope you’re having a nice weekend. Our has been relaxing so far. We have chores but not today {::SMILES}. Laters!

He’s So Sweet

Congrats

Well, I started this post yesterday but didn’t feel like writing anything. I’ve made stuff but just not in the blogging mood. Here’s another card that we did at the workshop last Tuesday. Another simple card using one of the SAB set, Botanical Bloom and Congrats, and the floral die cut. The card is 4.25×4.25 and the blue paper is 2×4.75. The red ribbon is just a regular knot and I used the SU glue dots to adhere the flower to the ribbon and the button to the flower. Fun and easy (at least I think).

The good stuff… my hubby’s the best. He volunteered (it’s always been his thing) to talk to kindergarten students in Kansas City yesterday. He said the kids were all so sweet (and he hopes they stay that way). My husband is very good with kids and he’s also one hell of a story teller (even if the event was a sad one he’d make you cry because you laughed so hard). His speech teacher said he missed his calling, ha! He loves little boys but because he’s around us two girls and M is only months or a year younger than these kids he was awesome with the girls. In one class he had a hard time with this little girl. She would not let go of his leg. She wanted to go home with him. In another class this girl asked him why he calls all the girls baby (he called the boys baba) and he told her (and the class) that it’s how he calls his two girls at home. The little girl then said, “I want to be your baby.” That just broke his heart. He was in an inner-city school. He said some seemed well cared for and loved but the others, he could tell they’re not as lucky. I think yesterday he wanted to take a few kids home.

Hope you’re having a great Friday. YEAH! Have a great one and hope your evening is wonderful. Give your babies some extra kisses and hugs. I know they deserve it!

Fifth Avenue

Thinking of You

Ok, isn’t this set pretty? It’s one of SU’s new set: Fifth Avenue. The sentiment is Trendy Trees.

This card was super quick, less than five minutes. Cut, stamp here and there, trim the sentiment and that’s it. Easy peasy! This was one of the cards that we did at a demo that I did last night. There were nine ladies + M and we all had a fun time playing.

No stories today. Just been super busy. This week is going by fast! Have a great one, more later!!

My Swap Card

Swap Card - Hi Here’s the card I made for last week’s swap at my upline’s. I missed the memo – it was suppose to be V-Day cards. Oh well, it looks valentine-ish, doesn’t, it? {::SMILES}

I’ve been tired lately. Just sleepy. Last night after work I took a little snoozer — well a 2 hr one, ha! It was nice. M joined me too. Hubby worked on the basement. He got the cabinets stained (blue) and sometimes this week he’ll sand it to give it an old time look. I think it’ll look really nice. The counter top will be black. He also got some baseboards in. We’re getting there!!!

I’ve been craving a big trip too. Europe. A week in France and a week in Ireland sounds oh so lovely. Next trip we’re going to rent a house and just park there. The last trip, to Germany, although nice, was not as relaxing as we wanted it to be. We saw a lot of sites but we moved around quite a bit everyday. Next time we just want to check out the local area, sip some wine, eat good food while chatting it up with the locals. The simple things.

Material: SU Baroque motif and card stock, Studio Calico butterfly and tag stamp, Heidi Swapp hi, with button, ribbon, and twine from unknown resources. The “just saying” is my hand writing.

Have a great one everybody!!!

Live Simply

This time it’s Kazan’s sketch #20. Check it out and see great prize they have in store for you if you win!

I have no story to tell today. I had the most wonderful weekend and those of you who has today off, have a great day off. I have to work but it’s not bad… it’s better than staining cabinets at home, ha ha. Ok ok, I would actually love to stay home so that I can spend the day with the hubby, even if I have to stain too. It’s our basement project… getting close to carpet!

Oh, I do have this super cute site to share. I downloaded some wallpaper for my ‘puter and just love them (I can’t decide which to use — I’ll set it on rotate probably he he). Here are two samples of what I downloaded there…

And, if I were a stay at home mom, I’d totally be doing this to my house… decorating and making lots of arts and crafts for each room.

Interior Design

Material: K&Co pattern paper, chipboard, and fabric. The flower… not sure. The rest are Stampin’ Up with Upsy Daisy and Amazing Grace stamps! I hand stitched and the “my friend” is my handwriting.
