A Little Birthday

Posted on | January 25, 2009 | 29 Comments

Birthday Wishes I am TIRED! Cropped all day yesterday! M was with me too – ALL day (this is her 3rd 12-hr crop)!!! She’s so weird, 11 p.m. and she was whining (depressingly sad) because she didn’t want to go home. At home she wanted to scrap some more. Go to sleep, child! You’re not even five yet!! She finally went to bed at midnight.

So here’s a card I made last night which was inspired by PaperTrey’s blog hop challenge: birthday. I haven’t done a hop in ages and not sure if this qualifies since I only have one itty bitty PTI stamp. I did make an order Monday, I thought I’d get them in before this but I guess not. Hopefully tomorrow!

This card was very easy and quick to do. I used a chipboard tag which you can easily recreate using a punch, Nesties, or die cut machine. The image can easily be replaced and the birthday wish… lets just keep that. It’s cute, itty bitty, and it fits the spot so well {:;SMILES}. The ribbon can be any clear or solid color ribbon. I do think the larger size is much better looking than the 1/4″-1/2″ for example. The colors I used Copic and the paper is just good ol kraft paper.

Ok… I’m going to grab me a nice cup of tea. Have a great one!!

My New Do and Belly

Self Timer Ok… so here it is! What a great day, not only did I get a haircut but I got to donate my hair to Locks of Love. I didn’t know my hair was that long! I told my hairdresser that I should probably wait a few more months so that I could donate my hair. She looked at me, measured my hair, and said that my hair was longer than I thought. Wowser! So yes yes yes, my first hair donation. M was there, her hair is long, and she said that when she decides to chop her hair off she wants to donate too. So sweet!

So here it is. My belly shot, 21 weeks and two days. My belly literally just popped yesterday. Before that, unless you know I’m pregnant, it wasn’t that obvious (well, except after I eat or drink a lot, ha ha!). I’ve gain a bit of weight, I can see it on my buttocks, arms, and face.

A lot of effort went into this photo shoot. I never did get an excellent picture (all are blurry). Hubby was asleep (he’s been on night shift this week… Thursday night being the last night) when I came home from the beauty salon and couldn’t wait for him to get up… wanted to take the pics in natural lighting. I’ve never used the self-timer before and I finally got the hang of it (focusing) AFTER the shots. It was so easy, I felt stupid. Then M would not leave me alone. She wanted to be in ALL the pictures. The last two shots, M was in them too… underneath me. Both times I sat on top of Emma. Ha ha ha. What at terrible mom!!! Oh, don’t forget the dog… yes, Max had to be in the way too. It was great!

So here it is. It was A LOT of work getting these pictures!!! Have a great weekend. I’ll be gone gone gone Saturday. Crap, I should go to bed! I have an all day crop at the scrapbook store in a few hours. 10 a.m. to midnight, baby! I hope to have a lot of stuff to share — if I get the mojo. Ya know {::SMILES}.

Material:
Frames from Weeds and Wildflower (Gina Huff), polka dot paper by Jazzmin (Shabby Pickle), Ornament by Bisontine (Shabby Pickle), and the rest by Kasia (Shabby Pickle).

Did I ever show you how to make scallop paper in Photoshop? Like the top right there? Super super easy! Maybe I’ll do a video this coming week and show you!

Thank You

Thank You Another bright card. This time it wasn’t my idea. Colors from Kristina’s color challenge: Green galore, black, white, red, and so saffron.

I can’t believe it’s Thursday!!! The Monday holiday threw me off. I’m not complaining! Friday I’m getting a hair cut. No more long hair!!! I’m getting my hair cut this short — if I end up looking a quarter like her it’s a bonus, ha ha!! Currently it’s a tad bit longer than this. Hubby loves my hair long and I’m a mid-length to short kind of gal. I kept it long enough I think and he’s tired of me whining about wanting a hair chop, ha!!

Enough craft night for me. Going to bed! I am FINALLY looking pregnant too. Need to take pictures {::SMILES}.

Material:
SU card stock, American Craft pattern paper, Scenic Route chipboard, Studio Calico butterfly stamp, Scarlet Lime thank you, Rhonna Farrer button, and ribbon unknown — garage sale find.

Yummy Goodnesses + Candy

Cousins Here’s a simple page that I did using more Scarlet Lime yummies (Oct.). LOVE the butterfly! It looks like what Prima is debuting this spring. LOVELY!!! I learned how to make flowers and butterflies from stocking fabric when I was in middle school but I forgot… ah… I need to practice and make me some more!! If I fail… oh, somebody sells them, ha! Still love my kit subscription and I hope that I get some new awesome CHA goodies in the upcoming kits!!!

To the yummies… it’s CHA time again. I’m not a part of it BUT, during this time my mouth drools and my eyes pop each time I click on a manufacturer’s blog. In case you haven’t seen them… I want to share a few and there are also some awesome candies in one or two of them…

  • October Afternoon – Oh, MORE lovely paper goodness!!!! Blog candy too!!!!
  • Fancy Pants – owls!!!!
  • Sassafrass – really drooling here, got stamps too!!!
  • Prima – butterflies and yummy layered flowers!!! They always have a giveaway… a couple have past but not surprised if more are coming.
  • American Crafts – colors!!!! Oh, stamps too!!!

Also, do you know that SEI has a digital pack? I just found out! The papers are cute!!!! There are all sorts of companies with sneak peaks but these are my fave that I’ve seen. If you have some more sweet sneak peak goodness, please feel free to share!

I Needed Cilantro But…

Posted on | January 19, 2009 | 58 Comments

A Card for Hubby Some while back I asked hubby to buy me some cilantro and he came home with parsley. He swore he got it from the cilantro pile. Oh well. But since then I never ask him to buy me cilantro. Well today I wanted to make an Indian dish and later this week whip up some enchilada. I asked hubby if I could trust him with some cilantro and in an annoying voice (and look) said, “That was a long time ago. Quit bringing it up.” I said fine and put cilantro on the grocery list. Guess what? He came home with parsley. HA! He was soooo pissed. He said the parsley was in the cilantro pile and he even asked somebody. Ahhh… maybe one more try? Third time’s a charm?

Here’s a card that I created using two challenges. The first is Kazan’s sketch from 2S4Y and the other is Cinema Saturday’s Casablanca. After creating this card I realized that there’s a twist on the Casablanca card (I got to learn to read better) and that there’s a color requirement of black, white, gray, and a color of my choice. My colors are way off. I got the black and white right but obviously I have more colors than what was asked. BUT, I got the romantic portion down {::SMILES}. This is my Valentine’s card for the hubby. Hope he likes it (it’s not pink and there are no glitters, he should, ha!).

Material:

Mostly from my Scarlet Lime kit: SEI paper (the flower cut-out), b/w wrapping paper, and buttons and butterfly. Cardstocks are SU’s and the tag is K&Co Amy Butler. I used my Cuttlebug too for the texture – since the machine and template are still out from the other card.

Hope you had a great Monday. I was off today, yeah!
