Happy New Year!!!

Posted on | December 31, 2008 | 2 Comments

Oh Christmas TreeJust short and sweet… HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! I hope you all had a great 2008 and hope that 2009 will be as great if not better. Thanks to you all for visiting my blog. It’s been so fun meeting you all. I wish I can be a better blog buddy but with work, family, and crafting, time can be limited. But I do try to visit you all when I can and I always have love what I see. Hopefully next year will be better!!!

Here’s my last piece that I want to share this year. I made this a few days ago using my Dec. Scarlet Lime kit. The red flower… that’s crepe paper. It was so easy to do! The picture was from Christmas 2007. I need to take more of these types of pics!!!

Well, I am off to the craft room. M wants to do projects. Waiting for midnight. Hubby is out partying at his friend’s house (he’s suppose to be home before midnight). I didn’t want to go. Instead M and I made some homemade pizza. I actually got this idea from Anthonette. I think this is what she’ll be doing for New Year. We made a personal size and shared. I made the dough (M helped) and she put the toppings on. It was really nice. We might make it a tradition {::SMILES}.

Have a great one and thanks again for your visits, comments, friendship, and support!!!

I Am Tiling Today

Posted on | December 30, 2008 | 1 Comment

Serious Yup, yup, yup, me tiling. We’re redoing our master bath’s tiles. It’s a project that’s long overdue. We’ve never used the shower in there and after hubby pulled all the flooring it’s wasted space. I never liked the tiles in there. It was a rushed job and we’re now getting to it. Hopefully it’ll be done this weekend but if not… it’s been undone for over two years, a few more months won’t hurt. But, usually after we start tiling we get it done accordingly. Cross fingers!!!

Here’s my first Disney page (and really not many others from that trip) to share. Remember I forgot my camera and the pictures I did get from my parents were disappointing. Ok ok, I should be thankful but I’m just so anal about my pictures that a blurry one is just hard to accept (especially when it’s not everyday that you go). I have no close-up photos of anything and no M expression photos either.

Anyhow, I used my Oct.’08 Scarlet Lime kit. See the black flower on the left there? It’s handmade. It came from somebody selling in Etsy and it was part of my kit. LOVE it!!! I’ve been really digging into my kits this break and I am very happy about that. This is my third page from this kit and I think I can whip out 5-8 more from it and a few cards. The Primas came from my own stash.

K… we got done laying the tiles out… the dirty work is waiting for me…

After Christmas…

Hybrid Card So, how was your Christmas? Ours was really nice. M really loved her toys from Santa, mom and dad and the hubby… well… too many stuff to assemble {::SMILES}.

I haven’t done a lot of crafty stuff either. I’ve just been reading and reading and reading. I got three books (David Sedaris and Jen Lancaster) read in three days. Nice! I’ve also done some winter cleaning. We don’t do spring cleaning just because I have no time for it. If I get two weeks off in the spring then I probably would. M’s ready to go back to school… she said mom and dad’s boring and she watches too many movies because there’s nothing else to do. Well sweetheart, mommy and daddy cannot play with you for 12 hrs/day. So tomorrow I am going to call her school to see if she can come in this week (it’s a short week anyhow). The initial plan was for her to stay home the two weeks we’re off. This sounds horrible but we’re not complaining {::SMILES}. It’ll give us a few days to focus on the basement — tiling and who knows what else hubby wants me to do.

So here’s my first card after the holiday… it’s a hybrid card. The kit’s by Cinnamon Designs called Leaf Jumper. TDC has a paper sale… not sure for how long and the paper’s only $1.79. The green tag came from one of my Scarlet Lime kit. I am not sure which. It was just sitting, all alone on my table, begging for me to use it. The ribbon is Martha’s.

What are your new year’s plans? We have nothing. Just another day at home.

Some Christmas Hybrid Quickies

Christmas Quickies

Christmas Quickies

Just some really quick (last) Christmasy stuff that I want to share with you. I did this in about ten minutes. It took me longer to print because my printer was giving me a heartache.

I shouldn’t blame it on the printer really. M dropped something in there one day and it (of course) jammed the printer. I didn’t get this thing out, it’s running around loose in there, but after some trouble shooting I got the printer to work.

For these projects, I used a digital element kit from Cinnamon Designs’ Winter Wonderland. The tag behind the stocking is from a different kit, Leaf Jumper, but really you can use any tag. I have printed a few other items from the Leaf Jumper set. Will be sharing more of that later… when I get around to making something with them {::SMILES}.

Christmas QuickiesIt’s Christmas Eve… have a GREAT Christmas day everyone! We’ll be going to church later this evening and we’ll send M off to bed early. I’m sure she wouldn’t mind {::SMILES}. Tomorrow morning, just like most of you who celebrates, we’ll be opening presents and then have a gigantic breakfast (that will last us until dinner). For dinner we have an itty bitty ham, some green beans, wild rice, biscuits, and fruit cheesecake (hubby’s making the biscuits and dessert).

I hope Santa’s good to you this year and no matter what, always remember that Christmas isn’t about the gifts but it’s about celebrating Jesus’s birth and to enjoy the company (near or far but dear in our hearts) of those we love and cherish (which we may sometimes take for granted). Have a merry merry!!!

Lazy Monday

Gelato Well, I could have been more productive but nope, stayed in my jammies all day, watched some Christmas cartoons for an hour, did some kindergarten activities with Emma, and created a page. It’s not this one… I haven’t taken pics of it yet. I did do some cooking and cleaning. That’s good, right?

Last night I created three layouts, a total of four in the last 24-hours. That’s what I want to do this break, do scrapbook pages more than cards. I need a break from all the Christmas card making!!! I might do some SCS/2S4Y challenges. We’ll see how motivated I get.

The details on this page… uhm, I’m not sure. It’s between Scarlet Lime and Studio Calico’s kit and some misc. I can’t keep my kits straight. It’s a bit of October Afternoon, Creative Imagination, Prima, KI and more but the wood grain stamp is for sure a Studio Calico stamp. I did some sewing on it too. As you can probably see by now this is the extent of my sewing ability {::SMILES}.

This photo was taken in Indonesia. We were in an Italian ice cream shop. The price for Indonesia was ridiculous, more less $1 for a scoop, $1.50 for two, and $2.50 for three (wonder why the three scoops was a bit more?), which can be a day’s wage for some people. But for westerners, $1 for imported ice cream isn’t bad. I mean considering this and a handful of others (e.g. Baskin Robbins) are the only ice cream you can buy (unless you want to get sick). This was the first and only time these two had ice cream there. Hmmm… I can’t believe they each only got a scoop!!

Two more full days before Christmas!!! My last package should be here Tuesday. Yes! I can’t wait for the family to open their presents. We didn’t go crazy on presents (no impulse buying either). M wants three things from Santa: A baby doll (like she needs anymore really!!!), a sewing machine (ha ha… the child of a crafter!!), and a cradle for Hannah (she was Santa’s present two years ago). From us, M is getting that doctor board game… where you try and pull bones without bumping the sides, a Wii game, and a baby carrier for Hannah. Hubby just wants a radio for his old truck and a pinstriping kit for Jane. M got dad a Steve Doocy book too. Very funny writer! Me… I wanted a Kindle from Amazon but that thing has been looooooooong gone. Plus it’s so expensive. So, I asked for an oval Nestabilities set, PTI stamps, or books.

Okie dokie, going to bed. Hope to start the day early tomorrow. I want to be more productive!!
