Sweet Baby Girl

Posted on | September 25, 2008 | 8 Comments

Celebrate Baby This time it’s not my baby girl. My best friend from college (wow, a long time ago!!!) just had a baby. She lives in Houston and delivered after the hurricane passed. The poor girl wasn’t able to sleep for three days!! Between the storm and having contractions for two or three days (can’t remember now) she said she only got 15 minutes in.

So here’s my card and today I am going to pick up a pair of Robeez before going to soccer today and in a few months send her a signing video. My standard for out of town baby gifts {::SMILES}. When M was a baby I went a bit buck wild on the shoes. Back then there was no local store selling Robeez so it’s either online or Nordstroms but now our local store carries it. Or, I’ll buy some Bobux and also ShooShoos (always good end of season sale, $8-$11!). There’s another brand after she started walking but I can’t remember. Then we got to other brands after soft shoes but man, LOVE those little shoes!!!

I am home right now. Taking a personal day and just completed part one of my real estate continuing ed course. Just need to take the exam. Three more to go. Urgh! I think this is my last time. I don’t think I’ll renew after this. Besides buying and selling our other home and buying the land for this one I have not done any other real estate since 2003!

A Hubby Page and Story

Posted on | September 24, 2008 | 7 Comments

My Love Here’s a page that I did of my hubby’s very close-up pic. I used some of my Making Memories stash that came with the March/April Studio Calico kit. Just something simple with a bit of layers. Just like him, simple and just a tad bit complicated.

Ok, here’s my story… last weekend we went out to a local bar/restaurant. M’s friend’s parents owns it and her little friend was there too so that worked out well. We didn’t hang out much after dinner, it was kind of like eat, drink, and leave. Plus we got there late anyhow and M needed to go to bed.

We live in the country and for about 2 miles it’s just a small county road that’s mostly very quiet at night and no lights. Well, about a mile away from home somebody had to go pee. Not the M but the Drew. He couldn’t hold it (OMG – one mile!) and he asked to stop at the bridge. So I stopped in the middle of the bridge and he climbed up the railing and did his thing. Well, in the middle of him doing his deed, I saw a car coming. Closer, and closer, and closer and somebody wasn’t quite done. So I just took off. Ha ha ha… I heard somebody yelling and then there’s hubby chasing after my car, catching up, and jumping in. The other car was just coming up behind us. I was laughing sooo hard with tears rolling down my face. I couldn’t drive straight! He couldn’t believe I drove off like that. Good times {::SMILES}.

That same night I was in the bathroom painting and hubby was watching the last of Heroes. He asked me something and I thought he said,”Do you know what happened at the end of season one?” I said, “Yeah, Peter blew up” (I read Wikipedia, ha ha). Oh he was done with me. He said that we weren’t in speaking terms after I blurted that out. I guess he only wanted a yes/no answer from me. He should have known I don’t do yes/no (long story).

We’re speaking again. Well he got over it soon after the movie because it didn’t quite end up the way he imagined it when I said Peter blew up. He said I got lucky. I just rolled my eyes. Boys!!

CPS Christmas

Merry and Bright Internet Explorer users: If the thumbnail looks small, refresh your browser or push CTRL-R on your keyboard. One day I’ll get this figured out! Right now… no time.

Here’s a card that I did last night. After feeling unproductive, craft wise, I finally felt the urge to play with my stash and here’s what I came up with.

I used CPS’s #83 sketch for this. I’ve been wanting to try their sketches for a while now but finally just got to it. I moved the circle around and instead of the bottom right I moved it to the top left, tied to the ribbon with hemp.

Material:

SU: Kraft, black, red, and white paper, ribbon, and Merry and Bright stamp set
Cuttlebug template
Luxe pattern paper

I like it. A bit on the non-traditional side.

I got my bathroom painted. Yes! Felt nauseated after but hey, all’s good. I’ll be cramming in real estate stuff this Thursday. The deadline is the 30th. I am so good!!! I haven’t been active but I decided that I want to keep my license since we plan on selling the house next year and hopefully be stationed overseas in 2010/11. It’s a two year plan but I did tell my co-worker/supervisor… I gave her my two years notice, ha! We just don’t want to try selling so close to moving with the current mortgage/housing situation. We’ll see.

Have a great week!

I Need to Workout!

Posted on | September 20, 2008 | 9 Comments

Thank U! Seriously, it’s what I need to do! So  this coming week! I don’t have a scale but I have these pants skinny which I use to measure myself. If it’s tight, then it’s time to do something about it.

I also thought of going red meat-less. This thought came last weekend. There was this article on Men’s Health on how cows are slaughter and it was just SOOOOOO sad! I can’t go cold turkey and so I’m going to start out with no beef. We don’t eat a lot anyhow so hopefully it won’t be so hard. We’ll see. I know that every animal has its purpose but reading about how they go from calves to our dinner plate was a bit rough, especially the non-organic/natural cows.

Here’s a card that I want to share with you today. It’s very simple. Just a lot of bright colors. Aren’t the new SU in-colors so so nice? Love them!!!

Alright, this post will be short and sweet. I cleaned M’s room. Goodness! A girl deserves a blogging break after all that {::SMILES}.
