Bubble Tea

Posted on | September 30, 2008 | 8 Comments

Ok, question from my Sunday post… what is bubble tea?

Check this out

Notice that the reporter from Fox did not take a sip {::SMILES}.

If you want to just read about it, you can go to Wikipedia. In the U.S., the price can range from $2.50 to $4 for a 12-16oz cup. At least in my area here, Kansas City, MO. and my favorite is mango. Last year when I was in Singapore I was buying one each time I saw a stand and I was thirsty. In the food court across the street from our hotel the tea was $S1.50!!! I think about $1 US. WOOHOO!!!! On average though it was about $2. Ohhh, want more!!!

Some might not like the bubbles but if you do then it’s just the next best tasting thing after cafe mocha.

So next time you see bubble tea on the menu try it out and think of me he he…

The other tea I love is Thai tea. I am a tea freak. My favorite at home drink in the winter time is thé au lait. I got into this after my trip to France in 1997. Love Earl Grey for my thé au lait.

Bug Me

Bug Me

Wow, another week. That weekend did fly by! Despite its shortness it was nice though and I am very looking forward to October. Why? Well, after tomorrow all I have to do is focus on my family, my work, and my usual craft. No extra stuff like real estate exams or 35 swap cards. Yes! The swaps are fun but two swaps in a month is too much. Never again!

This weekend I am leaving for a web developing conference. then next week is my birthday. I am gathering stuff for a nice blog candy so watch out for that. I am not looking forward to aging but I am happy that I’ve made it this far and being very happy. After my conference my sister-in-law will be here and then M and I will  be leaving for CA on the 15th for my sister’s wedding and Disneyland. My parents will be in CA too and when M and I return, we’ll be hauling them with us. Oh, my in-laws will be in Missouri too for a week to meet my parents and so it’ll be uber super hectic and busy. Don’t expect a whole lot of craft from me this month. Plus I think I need a break. I am hitting a few creative snags. Having a very hard time focusing and completing projects. I have a few items stacked up just waiting for the right finishing touch. M on the other hand, she’s just been going!! After the 1st of November it’ll be peaceful again in the Wilder’s household.

So here’s a little card that I did using some leftover Sassafrass and a digital image from Mira Designs at the DigiChick. The bug me is my hand writing and anytime is SU’s rough edges alphabet stamp set. I did some paper piercing and under the piercing I did some scoring with my It. The ribbon I found from my stash.

The weather is definitely changing here. It’s been quite warm, high 70s or low 80s, but it’ll be in the 70s this week and the leaves are falling. I love fall and I can’t wait to take fall pics of M.

Sunday Bloggin’

Posted on | September 28, 2008 | 13 Comments

Happy Thanksgiving Is it Sunday already? I really need another day just to get more house chores done! We had a great time in Kansas City. We went to Westport to eat at Jerusalem Cafe (very yummy Middle Eastern food) and then we walked to a scrapbook store. I didn’t buy much ($10 and mostly on ribbons by the yard), just didn’t find what I needed. Ended up hanging out the half price bookstore next door. Emma got a few favorites. On our walk back to the car we got some bubble tea at the Tea House. YUM!!! Love it!!

I did pick up a scrapbook album. I loved the Martha ones but ended up getting a Colorbok since I like the cover better. So we’ll see how I like it. While at Michael’s I loaded up on $.99 MS ribbons. I got 10 of them, ha! I think I should have gotten more he he… They’re 5-12 yards, pretty darn good and gorgeous too. I can’t wait to use them on some cards!!! Maybe tonight, hopefully!!

We’re going to church then take M for a bike ride. We have gravel here so no smooth bike path except the road and it just doesn’t seem so safe… some people speed through these rural roads. Plus I need to walk so that I can fit better into my “skinny” pants better… I think I’ve lost a bit over the week, ha ha ha!!! Hubby said I’m psychotic this way.

Stamp: The $1 rubber stamp from Joann’s.
Paper: Three Bugs in a Rug
Misc: Cuttlebug template, Nestabilities, and ribbon

Tut: Photoshop Styles

Posted on | September 27, 2008 | 3 Comments

It’s been a while but here’s another Photoshop tutorial. The subject was an email request from one of you, I hope the video helps. My styles file size after saving the two styles: 3kb. I haven’t been playing much with digital and got clueless on what type of tuts to make. So thank you for the suggestion!!

Not sure what the kids (one hubby, one child, and two fur babies) are doing. They left me alone to finish my real estate stuff but here I am blogging. Ok, this will be short, I want to finish so that we can get out of here and have some good times. Laters!

FRIDAY and a Question

Posted on | September 26, 2008 | 7 Comments

So Very Sweet Yeah!!! The weekend is FINALLY here! It was sooo nice to take a day off yesterday but I wish I spent it more on crafting or even house cleaning than nine credit hours of real estate stuff. I have three more to go and planning on finishing that tonight. I was going to do all yesterday but then we ended up watching season 2 of Heroes. Plus my bum was sore from sitting and finger’s tired from clicking.

This card is super simple, just some new in-color papers the So Very stamps, scalloping on the edges with the SU (new) scallop punch, and the yummy ribbon <– LOVE this thing!! I used my stamp-a-majig to get everything all straight and centered. I use that thing all the time now.

So, what are your weekend plans? We’re going to the city tomorrow and maybe help his friend buy a car while I go to a scrapbook store around the corner from there and Michaels and HB (50% off scrapbooking stuff). I need some embellishments for my pages and a new album. I am so happy that I’ve been getting a lot of pages done this year. I think I’m close to 100 between the paper and the digi. I did more but there are a few of the digis that I don’t care to print.

Question: Is there a scrapbook album that you like? I bought an American Craft last time and it’s nice, I can get 40 pages in, but the pages keeps sliding. There is too much space I think where the rings are. Before that it’s a K&Co (old old model) where the pages stay but I hate unscrewing to add spacers and protectors. I do love the spacers since my pages are not flat. I do miss this from the AC album. Let me know, thanks!!
