It’s Merv Again, 5-Min-Card!

Birdie Card This is a super quick card that I did and also taught at the lss last week. I printed Merv the bird in Word (yeah, no need for fancy Photoshop). I had four on a page and printed a few pages out for the session, trimmed and colored.

The background paper is Karen Foster and the stamp is PaperTrey. Using this card sample I wanted to demonstrate how one little piece of black cardstock can change the look of this card from blah to “yeah, this is good, this is good.” Ha!!! I used dimensionals too under the black cardstock to give the card more depth. Of course I can’t do a card without at least a little piece of ribbon {::SMILES}. To give it a softer curve, I used my corner rounder for the edges of the card.

I credit the using black or I think anything dark really to SCS. I think it was from one of the challenges. I can’t remember. Just sharing what I learned to others. I can do that, right?

Happy Monday! I am posting live before I head out to lunch… a five minute post {::SMILES}.

Totally awesome and cute card!!! I agree with you – *Black* CS as a BG can change the whole card and as you can tell on your card it makes the image stand out even more!!!
Love your clean style – Savitri!!!
