This card isn’t one we made. This was just a hybrid card that I did using Jovia Devoe’s kit. Put it together in Photoshop and print on white card stock. The Hi there is PTI’s.
My card class: I made it and it was really fun too. Unfortunately, I haven’t uploaded my pics yet, so that to come! Six people came to the class, three each - morning and afternoon. Coincidently I had a morning dr. appt. so before I went to it, I stopped at the lss to drop off the packets and hang around for a little bit. I met the three morning regulars. Two were senior citizens and they were the cutest thing. One loves to be online searching for card images on the Net. She hasn’t discovered SplitCoast yet! So I gave her the addy and uhm… her girl friends might have a harder time getting a hold of her (phone busy, dial-up) because she might just be on the online more now, ha! In the afternoon, I had a guest from work, a lady friend who’s been to my SU’s workshop, and a sweet little exchange student from France that my lady friend brought in with her.
They all said they had a great time and I’m so glad. I hope they come again the next time I have a class. Next week, is a scrapbooking class. It’ll just be basic scrapbooking and we’re going to try to use paint besides other techniques. I think that’s what the ladies liked the most yesterday, playing with new toys and trying out a new technique. Speaking of… I guess ribbon tying is not a simple thing to do. My lady friend, who’s seen enough YouTube videos on the topic, was good. She had it down pat, but for the others, it was still work. So, despite the already many how to tie a ribbon videos… I made one on how I do it at home:

I am a tight wad… thus the title. Well the point is… no ribbons left unused, ha!! The ribbons are old… I found them at an antique store in town. Super cheap for 10-20 yards. I think $2-$3. You never know what you find at those stores. I found some vintage items too for my scrapbook!!
great tutorial, thanks!
and I love your voice

Add a CommentThe video quality is great! What did you do different?

Add a CommentOh my goodness, I feel like I’m famous: I made it on your blog as your lady friend. I’m not sure which is the best part being called a “lady” or your friend!
And you’re absolutely right — we did have a VERY good time at your class. Thank you so much! We enjoyed working with tools that were new to us and now I’ll feel better about branching out a bit and buying some new things. This was hard before because I’m a tightwad too! Loved your tutorial, including its name. But watch out . . . you’re going to have some competition at the local thrift stores now. Another good idea from you! (I’ve had some luck this summer at garage sales for similar items.) Thanks again for helping Justine and me create a memory that will always be special to us. BTW, we had plans to meet up with some French students and their American host families after class. Justine made a special effort to take the cards she made in your class with her so she could show everyone!
