NOTE: This posting isn’t for digiscrappers only. Read on, all.

I have no style. I just go with whatever I feel like creating but every so often I get into a grungy mood and I just want to give my LO or card a bit of a distressed grungy look. With scrapbooking/cards you use the distressing tool and some brown ink. For digi, you use some grungy kit, your action, or do it from scratch. I’m working on a grunge tutorial, it’s not what I want to share today. Today I want to share this site. It’s called misprinted type and this person is so artsy. I love his stuff! Check out his site. He’s got some cool fonts AND some brushes (under the “goodies” menu option). Not sure how to install a brush? Well click on the tag to the right of this post, click on videos and it’s one of the older ones. Dig it out of my blog. To install fonts, go to scrapvillage.com. You’ll find a great tutorial and also tons of free fonts.

So why use fonts and brushes? Well, for you card makers and traditional scrapbookers, you can use these fonts to create your sentiments, in Office Word even, and print them out on your card stock and cut. If you have a color printer, use these brushes to decorate an 8.5×11 paper and make your own pattern paper. I don’t have a color printer but I can make some bold black swirls, run my red paper through my printer and I’ll have a good looking card base. I’ll show you this sometimes soon, maybe this weekend. This, I believe, is already considered as hybrid. Combining paper with digital technology. I honestly don’t know how much digi and paper combo you need to do to be considered hybrid. I never really cared about terms. If you’re a digiscrapper, you know what you need to do with this info, download and install then have fun playing around with them.

Back in the days, when I have very little sentiment stamps I used the ‘puter a lot for my cards. I’d make my own sentiments, print, cut, and glue. So nice. The same with my scrapbooking. Now that I have a bigger collection of stamps, I rarely do this, but now and then I would do this just because. For you paper scrapper/card makers. Do you know that you print digital paper on your home printer and make your own pattern/designer type paper? I know that MFT has some digi paper and their design team has demonstrated the use of them in card making. There are many places that give out freebies (look in my useful link up above to find some of my favorite places). So if you’re on a tight budget but you have some color ink and paper, you can browse to these freebies sites and download a pattern page or two or more, print, and make some craft!

Ok, so I have no cards, scrapbook, or tuts to share. But I hope you find this bit of info useful.
