My Friday Page

I did this page for my hubby and his best pal. They’re so sweet together. Shady knows when dad’s going to go out and she would beg him to take her — in her Shady way. When hubby’s gone on military duty, by the 3rd month, Shady would be quite sad, just looking out the window waiting for his car to drive by. She knows when he’s going to temporary duty, his big green bag is her sign.
Just a little history. Shady was a pound puppy. Hubby got her when she was 1-2, so lets say 1.5. The vet wasn’t sure. She was abused and the ugliest looking dog at the pound. Her hair was to the ground and mangy and she was terrified of men. Although the marriage didn’t last one thing good that happened when hubby and his ex was together was that she really wanted this dog and of course he gave in (ladies, we know we have this power, right? {::SMILES}). So they got her and she looked like a totally different dog after a good grooming. It took a few months for her to like hubby but that one belly rub did it. Ever since then they were inseparable. Her name came about because she was, still is, so Shady. She’s the sweetest dog though and we love her very much.
Credits: Jovia Ephimerals II elements and Annie Manning‘s paper and music sheet from her latest mega kit Charms d’antan. I think that’s it. I used the pen tool to extract my hubby and Shady and then used the eraser, just a regular one, to smooth out the sharp edges. Then I created duplicate and that’s how the shadow came about. Hmm… maybe the next tutorial {::WINK}. The background image, well, I select the paper area with my magic wand while pushing the shift key and then some erasing with the masking tool. After I got the outline I wanted, I clicked the picture, and masked it. Ahh, another tutorial. Fonts are either from Scrapvillage or DaFont. They’re free so you might want to pop in there and load up. Scrapvillage is easier to download if you’re new. Just save it to your font folder. In the Windows system it’s in your c:\windows\font and in the mac it’s in your mac hd – library – fonts. Enjoy!

Great photo of your dh and dog. You can see their love for each other. What a sweet story of them!
