My Second Sketch

Posted by Savitri

FriendshipI have Beate’s blog listed on my blog and also my Google Reader. After the fun I had with the MFT sketch I wanted to do another one and I remember seeing somebody comment on Beate’s sketch. So I went to her site and here it is.

Sometimes, the hard part of creating a card for me is how to set it up, the layout basically. But, with a sketch, I can skip a big part of the layout process and just figure out what I want to use and plop in that layout. Amazingly enough, this card only took me 30 minutes to actually do. I should have participated in more sketches a long time ago but I just never got the chance to, just been to busy. But this year, I’ve decided to try a lot of new things and experiment. I know that there are a few ladies out there who has sketches and challenges on their blogs or even on SCS. Maria, my virtual stamp sis, does sketches, so I’m probably going to be going to her site more often{::smile}

Friends CardThis is a nice break from scrapbooking. Material:
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Marigold, River Rock, Cutie Pie
Stamps: Marigold Morning, So Saffron, Chcolate Chip, Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava, Black, Pomegranate
Accessories: Pomegranate ribbon, brads, beads, demensional

Have a great weekend. I’m going to log off and take the dogs for a walk and playing with the family. Plus I have an Agatha Christie I’m half way through, my FAVE. It’s 60 outside! Been in the 20s-30s since last weekend!!

    What a wonderful card–the different colors, patterns and elements work together to make it really special. I was just looking at Lynn and Maria’s blogs and jotted down the sketches they have posted. I enjoy doing sketch challenges but don’t think to use them when I need a card but that is going to change in 2008!

    Love this card: your colours are so fresh and the beads are spectacular! You are so right about sketches. I need to get off of my tush and do some of them. Thanks for being so inspiring! :0) Mel
