Dedicated to my stamping and scrapping virtual sisters and of course anybody who took the time to visit {::smiles} This was taken from All & Sundry
It’s kind of long, so click the “Continue reading…” to read the whole deal.
1. What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before?
I had a Wendy’s hamburger and I started making felt dolls. The last was more fun but the first my husband made me because he was amazed that I’ve never had one.
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn’t know I had one {:laugh} For this year, well we didn’t have any at first but I guess, just for my beloved husband, to be more tidy and and try to clean better. I love a nice clean place but I suck at cleaning. I had great intentions to clean the glass on our windows but they then turned out really streaky. I try so hard to clean our floor but then they would turn out dull. But, I got some new cleaning stuff, Shaklee’s stuff, and the window cleaner alone is worth getting the whole package!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
A lot! It was baby year, OMG! My friend Guenevere, Jodi, Kathy, Frannie, and my co-worker Jonadee. There were a few more but I forgot so I guess they’re not close, ha ha
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes… my favorite grandpa and my dog, Kato. I still miss them both so much.
5. What countries did you visit?
Indonesia, Germany, Singapore, Austria
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
More time to myself and the family. I have a hard time slowing down.
7. What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
May 16th and Sept. 22nd. The first is the date that I gave my rescue puppy for his birthday and the second is the date I got him.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I managed to juggly my full-time job, part-time teaching online job, parenting, housekeeping, cooking, scrapbooking, rubber stamping, puppy training, and somehow managed to be a Stampin’ Up! demo all in one time. The amazing part… our daughter is the most polite little girl and just listens so well (a baby sitter’s dream) and is considered advanced. Ok, my husband does sometimes wonder where his ‘us’ time is but we did manage some date time.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I didn’t play with M as much as I know she wants me to.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nope!
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Hmmm… oh, this portable car seat. It was awesome when we traveled overseas and when we had to take an unexpected taxi ride between four airports due to our plane landing late. It fits in our carry-on and we felt save driving in the different countries.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Each one of us for coping with each other so well and patiently.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Those in celebrity gossip magazines — which you can’t avoid each time you’re waiting to pay for your groceries or when you get on your favorite online news site.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Mortgage is where most of our money goes into and second our investments. But MY money, ahh… my hobbies… It so relaxes me though. I wonder how much more or less compare to therapy if I didn’t have a hobby… ha!
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Our trip last summer. At the same time it was nauseatingly stressful since I wasn’t sure how M would act through the whole trip. But she was an angel, OMG. I just can’t believe it sometimes. Oh, my Cuttlebug, he he…
16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
None
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Boy, I’m really not sure. About the same, I think.
b) thinner or fatter? Thinner by a few pounds… hmm… Yes, I think so, by three pounds.
c) richer or poorer? I think we’re doing better financially.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
More lounging around at home. More off the computer. More trips.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Less browsing nonsense on the Internet. Less trying to be so perfect which would lessen all the research and other useless activities that surrounds the task/project and just do it the best you can.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
We stayed home and we loved it!
21. Did you fall in love in 2007?
Yes, with photography, my new pup, and felt stitching — I’m always falling in love with my little family too.
22. What was your favorite TV program?
We don’t have TV service but I have been watching Dancing with the Stars online. That was fun and something that M and I can do and then we’d dance around after.
23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
No, I don’t think so.
24. What was the best book you read?
Agatha Christie books — doesn’t matter if I’ve read it over and over again. Oh, I re-read the Cat Who Went to Paris. I so love Norton!!
25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Oh, I am so out of this… it’s been awhile. I listen to NPR and it’s World Cafe. Always something new every evening.
26. What did you want and get?
Visit my extended family in Indonesia and take my whole family with me. Scrap/stamp tools and stamps. A 55mm Canon lens.
27. What did you want and not get?
The basement done — obviously not even close. This year though, this year!
28. What was your favorite film of this year?
That car turning into a robot was pretty good. Uhm… we watched a few but only that one stands out.
29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
We went to a Japanese restaurant and I turned 33.
30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If only I had more time.
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
I love fashion. I am the slick, classic, all time girl. I love shopping at Ann Taylor and I love the clothes at Anthropologie (although I wish they have short pants). But this 2007 we have dived more into reusing and recycling so my fashion is still slick and classic but now I find them at consignment stores. I’m finding some nice ones and I can still stick to my favorite brands. I’m not a brand snob but I’m really small, size 0-2 and I can’t just go to any store, especially to find something on sale, and find something that will fit me right. Somehow I think Ann Taylor’s pattern was created based on my measurements
32. What kept you sane?
Friends and family. My full-time job. Yes, I LOVE my job. The quiet time after everybody has gone to bed and I can do my crafty stuff. Just me, the coffee, and the two dogs.
33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Hmmm… well, I really admire Natalie Portman. Not only is she gorgeous (even with no hair), she is smart, articulate, down-to-earth, and is not out partying half the time but instead doing a lot of charity work and visiting underprivileged people in different parts of the world.
34. What political issue stirred you the most?
I don’t want to get into this but I wouldn’t have minded a new president.
35. Who did you miss?
My grandfather. I wanted to visit Indonesia to see him. I booked my tickets in April/May, made plans, bought the tickets in July (you don’t have to pay right away when you book for these tickets), and he passed away two weeks before we left for our trip. He did come to me before he died. I know it’s sounding all so weird but he did and he told me he’s leaving and I said it’s ok and I told him I understood. But, even so, I still miss him and I wish I could have seen him just one more time.
36. Who was the best new person you met?
I didn’t meet anybody new that became anything more than acquaintances this 2007. There are a few ladies out there that I think would have been nice to get to know better but we’re all so busy with our own things.
37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007.
Sometimes it’s the little thing that make you happy all over and that listening is the key to making long lasting friends and marriage.
38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Although the whole song doesn’t apply to how I felt last year but the chorus keeps echoing in my head ever since my grandpa went away — he was more like my dad than my grandpa:
When you’re gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you’re gone
The face I came to know is missing too
When you’re gone
All the words I need to hear to always get me through the day
And make it OK
I miss you
