Working with Layers in Photoshop

Posted on | December 12, 2007 | 1 Comment |

When you’re working with a software like Photoshop, whether it’s Elements or the full blown deal, you’re going to have to deal with what they call layers. Instead of having all the elements/images on one page/layer, each item is created in separate ones. What’s the benefit of this you ask? The main benefits are that you can manipulate each item individually and you can add/remove without effecting the other elements/images.

We did touch a little bit on layers when I showed you how to create a watermark in Photoshop but this video will just focus on layers and how you can go about moving the different layers around and what that little icon to the left of each layer is all about. Really simple stuff but if you don’t know it, it’ll make your Photoshop life miserable. I think this is a great tutorial for beginners.

I want to watch these….I’m thinking that I need to buy a photoshop program and then I can use my watermark and do all of this fun stuff you are talking about.

    Any advice along those lines?!
